    Mathematically
    There are 450 players in the NBA. To take in consideration of the top 5% of NBA players we are considering 22.5 (23) players in the NBA. By virtue that in his 20th season Lebron James is on All-NBA Third Team all NBA he is one of the top 15 players in all of the NBA.
    Taking in consideration of the playoffs, there were 4 teams left. Each team has 5 starters which again would mean 20 players. Every team has a top two players at least makes the current players to 4 or 8 best players in the playoffs. Without question Lebron is in that top tier calibrated player in 2023 playoff.

      That’s the wild part. I figured it out. It’s because he doesn’t have a singular moment or shot like a MJ for instance. It doesn’t look pretty, but it’s effective as hell. He’s been so amazing that guys will talk about his entire game instead of singular moments. Perfect example, cats will talk about Kyries shot, but NEVER mention that the only reason that happens is because he scored 11 out the 18 pts that qtr and he played all but one min of the game. Like we don’t even realize our greatest of greats aren’t playing the whole game of close out games at all, yet alone consistently like Bron does. It sucks because he don’t have that singular moment that everyone can point to for his greatness

      That’s fine and dandy but at least you get it. It’s not the sole reason but it does matter. In a barber shop ironically you need those moments. Consider it like Duncan. A fundamental savant but may be more know for his bank shot. This is a spectator sport after all. That’s what people forget about Kobe, he took alot of “circus” shots because he understood he is playing a game but also he is in LA and must put on a “Lake Show”. His % is slightly lower than it should be because of this. Context is always left out sadly.

      @josephhandy8767 Рік тому +1

      @@Gemini050788 yeah I’m a basketball head, so I understand all of the greats strengths and weaknesses. I don’t hold them against them. To your point, Kobe was the best “bad shot” maker the NBA has ever seen, so to your point, if he does a game winner it’s going to look spectacular. MJ probably had the best fundamentals of any great, that’s why if you see his game winners, it’s always a mid range pull up. He understood that he’s probably goin to jump higher than anyone guarding him so all he has to do is get to a spot. Bron on the other hand LITERALLY has an array of game winners. One leg runner, top of the key three, drive to the basket left hand layup, dribble right pull up middy. He doesn’t have a set move that’s his signature move for winning a game or making a clutch shot. So it sucks because the man has been so amazing that you can’t sum up his career in just one shot, but for bragging points, that’s hard to use in a debate

    • @gamechanger114
      @gamechanger114 Рік тому +4

      @@RonnieM90 Wilt doesn't get talked about as much "anymore" because he dominated in earlier era (the 60's). People used to always have Wilt and Bill Russell in the discussion same discussion of greatest players of All-time and it wasn't uncommon for people to consider Wilt being the better player. People only seem to have stopped including him and still leaving Russel in to push this whole championship narrative that they been pushing to keep MJ at the top. You can't say it's about championships then leave out Bill Russel too. And then there's Kareem who typically gets ranked higher than Wilt and Russel and the major factor for that was he had the All-time scoring record and they considered the 70's and 80's to be a more modern era with better talent than from the 60's... The contradiction here, is there's always a blatant contradiction in who the analysts rank the greatest players of the All-time to be. If you go with Most Rings it's 1. Russel then 2. Kareem & Jordan. If you go with Most Dominate 1. Wilt 2. Shaq & Lebron. If you go with greatest he scorers it's 1. Lebron 2. Kareem. If you go with greatest scoring in limited seasons then it's 1. Wilt 2. Jordan. Then if your factoring the current era with the more modern era being more difficult then it's 1. Lebron 2. Kobe & Shaq 3. Tim Duncan (2000's). The only time there's an inconsistency of how players are being ranked is when someone says MJ is number 1 whether it be for most rings, most dominate, greatest scorer, or playing in a more modern era... In short, Wilt only fell off people's radar to push the narrative that rings are the most important indication of an individual player's greatness for Jordan's sake. And subsequently, this also ensures that Bill Russel is always in the discussion of greatest players, even though before people were calling Jordan the greatest All-time, most usually had Kareem or Wilt ranked number 1 All-time followed by Bird, Magic, and Bill Russell. It's no coincidence now that when top 10 lists are revisited sometimes Wilt Magic or Bird will find themselves out of the list, but Bill Russell ends up always remaining in the top 10. There's definitely a disparity in how they rank players. I remember nobody aside from fans was typically putting Kobe in the top 10 rankings, until after passed, and then all of sudden people started putting him on those lists, years after he already retired smh. I always thought of Kobe as MJ 2.0 playing in a more modern era with tougher defenders and tougher types of defenses to go against, and overall just alot more talent around the league yet they didn't even have him originally in the top 10 All-time list, in his last years in the NBA.

    It’s so crazy the way A LOT of people consume the game of basketball as a one man show including past players. It’s a team game, 5 on 5, yet alot of discussions are centered around what ONE player can do for their team. If one of the other 4 players on the court do something costly to the team getting a victory the narrative will always fall on the shoulders of the teams best player, or at least that’s how it goes for Lebron…not so much the case for other stars, they usually get the benefit of the doubt.

    That's exactly why Lakers should get a natural center and get AD slide back to 4 and play that KG or Chris Bosh type on offense. Don't get it wrong, AD has 1 on 1 skills, he can put the ball on the floor, Iso and beat his matchup with it, he has a post move, the fadeaway middy and in a good day, he can shoot 3s. He has a versatile offensive bag, you just need to put him in a position that he can do it and that's on PF, the bigger forward. Things changes when you play him 5 tho, because you have to rely on him on being that "BIG"big that centers are usually are, if you get what I mean and AD ain't that, he is a hybrid. Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, those are the examples. They can play the 5 but they seldom did because they have their own skillsets for specific situations, so is AD.
