May you finally find rest and peace, Sinéad. Your voice touched more than you ever knew.
*I truly believe many of us who love Sinead O’Connor are people who have been hurt very deeply. Who have been stepped on. Abused. Neglected. And made to feel we are worthless and of no good to anyone. And this has hurt us so deeply it has tarnished our heart. Our soul. And makes us feel incomplete. Unloved. Unwanted. And we recognize this in her voice. And feel a sense of camaraderie with her. Because she is not only singing to us..but for us. And representing us. She is our sister. Our mother. And our best friend. And to all my brothers and sisters who read this and recognize these things in you..I love you. Stay strong. For one day the pain will end.* 😔
How true do these words feel right now...incredibly sad. But then a sense that she is now free.🙏🏼💜
Well said Nightbird 💔
I have never read anything so real and truthful. May you and Sinead rest in peace. May we all rest in peace when we get there. 💜
Thats sooo true !..👍
Você descreveu tudo muito bem. Gratidão 😢
Rest in Power, Sinéad. Your brilliance & compassion will not be forgotten.
I'm 73 and i remember Sinead from the beginning, her voice was like no other, her beauty unmatched.Sleep in peace you beautiful angel and thankyou for your honesty, you touched my soul like no other.❤ Inshallah 🤲🤲🤲
Well said Maryaga. Comfort and peace to all who loved Sinead. My heart is broken. 💔
Despite all her troubles, Sinead's voice never lost its beautiful quality.
Finally home, Sinead. Thank you for the music, and for your fierce and honest spirit. RIP ⚘⚘⚘
What a prophetic song she sang. This gives me the chills and tears as she knew where she was going. May she be at peace now healed by almighty God forever.
May the world, not trouble you anymore, you've served it better than it deserved.
Amazing woman. Thank you for all you gave to the world. Rest in peace, Sinead.
We lost a major artist yesterday...what a sad freaking day for us all 😭 May you rest in peace Sinead, loved U to bits.
I just discovered this song by Sinéad and I am blown away by it. What a haunting song... Incredibly beautiful and powerful. Her superb voice, the back ups, the piano and other instruments and this video in black and white with stunning photographs are just epic... so, so sad she passed away a couple of weeks ago... RIP Sinéad, you will be missed.
It is a cover of an old song by Mahalia Jackson, which was originally a spiritual sung by American slaves. Just letting you know if you want to check out other versions. Sinead does an amazing job too.
Probably one of her best and most powerful songs she has ever done, and so foreboding. RIP Sinead!
Truly agree. Such a masterpiece.
First time hearing this song just 10 minutes after hearing of her death.
So sad...but she's finally at Peace in God's loving home. ❤
RIP sweet lady 🙏🏴
This Lady gave me the power to stop the abuse in my family line. The minute she ripped the picture-- she has no idea how many lives she saved back then! The is the 1st and will be the Last QUEEN! Sadly, she has no clue how her pain saved “us”!!! Love Always, Alabama !
Yes. She was so right and she has been so bashed for that ! For speaking the truth people barely acknowledge now !
100%. bham alabama here as well. alot of ppl dont know of her activism other than snl, and the places she chooses to speak......she has more balls than an entire army. as a student and teacher of music, the very intelligent ways she embeds her messages into song and verse, is nothing short of being a warrior. a true protest singer/songwriter with the respect of protest singers of the past. ive been a huge fan from the begining
@@ROBSCOTT111 on just this subject matter? or on all the topics from social status, objectification of women, black lives matter, american nationalism, the entertainment industry, bosnia, famine and hunger, child abuse, war, or religion holding God hostage, shes continually covered in 30+ years of work?
+1 ❤️
Fr! She inspired me so much!
I'm a 47 year old Japanese woman. I met your music when I was 14 years old. From that time on you are my diva. I love you❤️.
Same here. I am a 44 year old Austrian woman. Started listening when I was 12... keep on listening ever since. ❤ Her singing was made by the rhythm of a strong heart...
@@ninalechner3632 Wow!\(^-^)/\(^-^)/\(^-^)/From now on forever…❤️
32 y.o Polish woman, I love Sinead since December 2020 and I regret I haven't discovered her music much earlier

She was right, RIP sweet soul.
Wow. So moving. It sounds like, listening to an Angel sing. Beautiful inside & out. We are all going to miss you Sinead. But we will continue to listen to you for spiritual guidance on this emotional journey, we call life. Amen💖
Her music saved my life and my mental health after an abusive childhood. She's retired now, but the music stands forever and means everything to me.
and her mental health killed her son. nice.
I hope you read this there's so many comments like this
Likewise-she saved my life multiple times -no one I know understands how much her music meant to me
Love Sinead, she's a prophet, like Bob Marley and Jim Morrison, sent to shake our spirits out of the slumber. Thank you Sinead, beautiful rendition and video too.
O bir peygamber defil. Sadece Allah'ı cc arayip bulan cok guzel bir insan. Allah cc rahmet eylesin. Amin.
Maybe by prophet you mean sender of a messenger but the last true prophet was Muhammad peace be upon him and Sinead god willing died as a Muslim. Much love to every human 💖💖🌷

Oh my God I am legit bawling my eyes out.
Man if this was going to be the direction for the forth coming album she had planned, it was destined to be fantastic. Still has that stunning voice
No Veteran Dies Alone
Read David Holmes interview with Guardian, where he celebrates the purity of her voice and spirit and reveals that the day he recorded this with her, she turned up and nailed it first time, in a single take.
There are apparently 7 more tracks completed for the album ‘No Veteran Dies Alone’, and he rates it as along with her best work ever.
An incredible voice, an incredible woman. ❤
Thank you so much for the info about this interview.
♥️ I celebrate that you are done with the trouble of the world sweet powerful soul! You live with God now, and forever in our minds hearts and souls 🙏🏽♥️✨
I am from India. I remember, as a teen, I was in total awe of this woman. At a time when there were pop stars like Madonna, Sinead was a class apart. I probably had what you would call now a girl crush on her. Such beauty and grace and most of all loved her down-to-earthness.
We have lost a true gem. 💔 Dear Sinéad I hope and pray that you are up there in heaven now, healthy, happy and free with your mother and your son. God bless your beautiful soul 🙏🏼❤
I’ve been a fan of yours since I first heard you sing “Heroine” back in 1986. I’ve seen you live a few times and you give me chills every single time. I hope you know and understand how truly you are loved and how your voice, your anguish, your pain, your sorrow, your joy cut so skillfully through to our souls. Few voices have that kind of power.
I didn't even know that i was going to miss her.....but I am. It's sad that realisation doesn't really kick in until after the event. What a human being...I'm in awe at all I am learning about her....now she has made her final transition.🙏🏼💜
In God's hands now no more pain suffering fly high angel with other Angel's shine in heaven you always shined on earth our hearts forever diamonds are forever legends never die xx
Sometimes only a beautiful troubled soul can get a powerful message across! God bless you Sinéade!
What a voice! What a great soul!
Rest in peace Sinead O'Connor.
You will be missed.
In case anyone is wondering, the picture Sinead is holding up is of Mahalia Jackson, arguably one of the greatest vocalists of all time and someone who recorded this song back in 1959. She also sang it in the film "Imitation of Life". Short clip of the song here: ua-cam.com/video/8eiI52WluF0/v-deo.html
More about Mahalia here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahalia_Jackson
This recording by Sinead really does the song justice. Love it.
Thank you so much for posting this!
Thank you.
TO BAD SINEAD IS A BITTER OLD WHITE LADY!!!!
@@floridabeardedwoodworker She is a woman who was severely abused as a child by her parents to the point of suicide. Her life has been hell trying to deal with the emotional repercussions from that. The fact that she was able to create a career singing about her pain and becoming one of the worlds greatest artists is testament to her inner strength and spirit. We are lucky to have her because she represents all of us who were abused and tortured by family members. Why don't you become a better human being and realize that some people are suffering due to no fault of their own? Just because you had a good life and your biggest concern now is making pottery doesn't mean all of us were dealt such a lucky hand. Stop making fun of those who are suffering..because that means the evil in this world is YOU.
thanks so much for the info
WOW how have I not heard this before
she sang her eulogy in 2020. Something about her covering the classic by the Mother of Gospel in an "old" cathedral ina hijab. Got to ❤her.💔
Well said. I bet Sister Mahalia was glad to see Sinead when she arrived on the other side.
Salaam beloved Sinead ❤ you've seen me through so much these 35 and some years. Thank you for this timely gift, an old southern spiritual i never thought to hear from you. May Allah Bless you and Give you more. You are the angelic choir of the broken hearted. As many here have said, we love you ❤
This song is prophetic it seems. Very powerful performance & i’m not surprised about the spiritual element here, Sinead you were so soulful & never fake you were always keeping it real. I know there will be many including me for real will miss you. 😢❤

Her voice is just as beautiful today as it was in the 80s. She is still making people aware of social issues that they'd rather ignore!

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Love how she honors Mahalia Jackson here. Mahalia left us a treasure trove of gifts and she truly loved God. Not sure how she loved Him so much when she was witness to and experienced so much racism.
This is a song that resounds through a troubled world, I just hope that Sinead is not feeling mentally troubled personally! She has a beautiful Soul, and seems troubled of late! God bless you Sinead, but don’t go home too soon, you’ve got lots of love for you out there! 🙏🙏🙏🌻🌻🌻
I'm really excited to listen her song against the lockdown and for Liberty.

As an Atheist, this is the only song I love even though it mentions god, I love it and I am so happy I was able to meet Sinead after a concert
Sinead all your songs are so passionate. Sending you hugs and lots of love ❤️
There is only one Sinead O’Conner on this earth, which can not bare to lose her. She has so much to teach n share to so many that need her. I hope she genuinely knows just how much she is loved by so many on this earth. I have adored, respected and truly seen the pain she has lived since the 80’s I’m so thankful she seems so much more at peace within in her soul, so much more clarity of her on self worth. I love you Magna Divett aka Sinead
An anthem for all those preparing to ascend from this evil place....
Your fight is now over. Thankyou for sharing and inspiring many. May you RIP.
An Absolutely Almighty song with a lot of Gospel and more religion...stay safe 🙏🏼
Sinead, you woke me up after watching you tear up the picture of Pope John Paul! I left the Catholic Church and started on the long road for truth. I can't imagine being where I am today without your courage. Thank you.
💕🙏
Just curious, where are you right now? Im aware it's private so don't worry answer if you want, like i said just curious
If she had written her own song, it would have had more impact. She's singing somebody else's song.
Sinead I have always loved what you stood for and your music. Please note the catholic church is not Jesus, Jesus is real and He loves you, please ask him into your heart. He is coming back in our lifetime.
@@katieecat Dear Mimi, As Muslims we also believe in the second coming of Jesus (the Messiah) I was raised a Catholic too but always felt confused about who to pray to God or Jesus. I feel like as a Muslim I love and respect Jesus more than before. Because I’m doing what he did praying to God alone and asking God Alone for help as Jesus did. And in the Quran there is a chapter named Mary (Maryum) and she is regarded as the most righteous woman among all of Gods creations. She was sinless. You can find the Quran in English on UA-cam. Also this pdf booklet explains Islam very well www.Islam-guide.com. Peace be with you.
She is a singer with deep purpose for all people. I hope we hav the same God we respect. Her advocacy in life is what she is. Thnkx.
Very powerful. Tomorrow is my birthday and finding this video tonight is the best birthday present ever. Just read this afternoon that Sinead is taking a year off to do rehab, I will miss her and her work. When her dates in N.Y. were changed from April 2020 to September 2021 I contacted my best friend Nancy from 26 years ago to see if she would go with me. Sinead was so essential to us. A beautiful soul. She was surprised to hear from me now, in a pandemic, and said emphatically yes!
I don't know if Sinead really knows how unique she is and how powerfully she has influenced the world, especially women and children.
Lets not forget the great french poet Pierre Reverdy -- "Man is good. Mankind is beast". But always man is good.
And her mother is with her anytime she wants or needs her. I hope some day she will realize she doesn't have to imagine or actually go to heaven to be with her.
Never, never, never give up Sinead O'Connor! The world still needs you.
God knows people's hearts. Thank you so much, Sinead, for sharing this important message in this song!!
Forever Sinead. RIP-- what a haunting beautiful last song. God hold you close.
She truly cared for the troubles of others from a deeply loving perspective and her art reflected it. A flame amongst flickering candles.❤
You probably don't read these but on the outside chance you do? I want to thank you. Too many times you have enriched my life and let me know I was not alone down here... there was at least 1 other and probably more. This last time was while listening to your book. I dropped my trying to sing like others and went back to my original accent and it changed my life totally! I might sound like a hillbilly but this hillbilly sings her ass off at 60! THANK you for everything! NAMASTE!
She was saying goodbye when she wrote this…goodbye Sinead. So Beautiful. I’m excited about my day going home too..but hope it doesn’t come for at least 45-50 years..but some days knowing we will go Home one day is what keeps me going.❤💜
It's a cover of Mahalia Jackson song from 1958. But Sinead's interpretation is unbelievably beautiful
