I’ve been having negative reactions and triggers towards my coworker. The anger weighs me down emotionally and drains me mentally. Never thought I could let someone dictate the way I feel so easily. Sad but I know I can overcome this.

I'm in the same boat as you. Whenever I see this coworker, or even hear their voice, it makes my skin crawl. I've given them way too much power to dictate the way I feel.

The sad reality is that there are grubs out there that will deliberately bait you for a response, then feel so superior when they succeed. Try imagining that there is a glass wall between you and them and everything toxic stays on their side of it. When I encounter toxics in the workplace I say as little as possible. One word responses then look busy and find something to do. Remember they Love seeing you upset so give them a nice big smile 😂

    self note:-
react v/s response - react is sudden, response involves thought
    478 - inhale hold exhale
deal with situation - pause, 478, regain control.
mindfulness - being present in each moment and oberving your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
practice mindfulness by paying full attention to what the other person is saying.
practice mindfulness while doing any activity - eating, washing, walking... etc.
self-awareness helps you notice patterns - like you react sharply when tired or hungry etc.
recognize your emotions as they come - angry, sad, anxious.
reframing -ve thoughts - see situation from a diff angle. rather than feeling irriatated in traffic, think about listening to music for more time.
negativity limits the potential and kills joy.
the world isn't as you see you but as you interpret it.
control your thoughts and emotions and let go of what you can't
empathy - ability to understand & share the feelings of others.
compassion - not just understanding someone's pain but wanting to alleviate it.
owning your reactions - you're the one in control of your reaction not the situation or person who triggered it.
make amends if your reactions have caused harm.
find a way to thrive even when things don't go your way.
forgive quickly - it's not dismissing the wrong or pretending it didn't hurt, it's about freeing yourself from the heavy burden of resentment and anger that weighs you down.
hodling the grudge means punishing yourself - mind becomes battleground of -ve emotions.
    descalate a conflict

Typed in self help and saw this among the choices. This speaks to me as I’m pretty emotional and reactive. You wrote this for me. Taking in every word. Thank you. Sometimes when I fall short and react instead of respond, I feel like I’m back at square one. I’ve been told that that’s not the case and that by recognizing my short comings I’m farther ahead than I realize

I really did not expect this book to be so good. I don't care whether it is AI written or read but the points made here are practical. They won't be so easy to implement but I'm sure with practice, this is possible. I have taken notes and will be sure to practice them. This is coming from a highly emotional person :) . The book is a great consolidation of so many techniques I have come across in life and I love it.

Instead of reaction it's possible to act yourself, because reactions are following an action of someone else. ;-)
    Simple logic.
But normally a reaction is not the same than psychological seen a reactant behavior, which mostly is driven by negative skills, aggressions or traumatized trigger's.
    Know Thyself.
    Good Luck.
