For those who don't know, Royal Pirates were supposed to comeback before summer, but James the bassist got into a terrible accident which injured his hand/wrist severely to the point he still cant play the bass despite having been on it for years. The injury was so severe to the point that his hand started to darken, which meant there were even discussion of him having to amputate it. They probably had to scrap out some songs since he cant play bass live anymore. Thats why he is on the keyboard now, still sad he had to give up on his favorite instrument and probably has to go through many YEARS of therapy before going back on it.
+BURH BRUH Ok... I knew he was bad but never knew what was going on. I also noticed the keybord and caught my attention. Oh my god. I was thinking it was smth like this but reading this just broke my heart. I'm so proud of James and his spirit.
He explained on Instagram that the burning shield, represented his regrets/pain/past memories because he went through so much shit and might even lose his hand, since it turned a bit black. So him hitting the bass on the shield basically means, he wants to destroy those painful memories, and regrets, and move on.

Came back to this after reading James' recent post on instagram. He's not leaving Royal Pirates. He will forever be the best bass player in Royal Pirates. He's always going to be the one who wrote our favorite song, "Betting Everything". We're always going to remember him going to the jungle, and dancing like a maniac on a live broadcast. He WILL recover. And he WILL kick this obstacle in the ass. He's going to look at this later in life and say, "thought you had me? I wasn't done yet". We're here for you James, and we're always going to be here no matter what. This isn't a "goodbye". It's a "see you later". No matter if you're making music or not, if its 10 weeks down the road, or 10 years, we'll still be here betting everything for you to recover.

Ah, my wish is coming true! SooYoon solo debut on March 14th! I love ALL of RP, but SooYoon has always been my bias, and I've always gotten a bit giddy when he's got a guitar in his hands (as much as I love him as a drummer, don't misunderstand ... he's one of my all-time favorite drummers ... but when he's singing and playing acoustic guitar, I melt....). I... was totally not expecting the song to sound this way. I just assumed they amped up the teaser to be more on the electronic side... While the video is somewhat simple set wise... the way it was shot you can feel the emotion. Just awesome. Totally could cross over if they did an English version

Ah, my wish is coming true! SooYoon solo debut on March 14th!
I love ALL of RP, but SooYoon has always been my bias, and I've always gotten a bit giddy when he's got a guitar in his hands (as much as I love him as a drummer, don't misunderstand ... he's one of my all-time favorite drummers ... but when he's singing and playing acoustic guitar, I melt....). I can't wait to see what he gives us!

I have no words. Royal Pirates is such a talented and amazing group. This song has so much meaning to it and the video has so many messages. I kinda cried after listening to it and I'm not ashamed of it because it made me think about some things. Overall Moon, James, and Sooyeon did wonderful and I wish them the best ^.^

I saw them on mbc music core, and I kid you not, I fell so deeply in love with them in just the span of five seconds of hearing them. I have never fallen in love with a band so quick, it took me by surprise lmao, it usually takes me a couple of music videos but omf royal pirates is something special. Can someone tell me all about them?
and plus, the only other band that had this effect on me was ft.island, lol I think I have a soft spot for bands that play instruments
