The fact that you shot your own “B Roll” sort of footage is what made me subscribe. I appreciated the fact that I wasn’t seeing a ton of stock footage I’ve seen in 100 other videos. I really enjoy your style & the effort you put in them to remain authentic & unique is felt & appreciated.
In the kind of saturated genre of video essays about internet culture, your videos are presented in such an interesting and unique way. You have a style that’s all your own while still crafting a compelling argument, evidence, story, etc. all in service of your thesis. This is pretty remarkable. Hope you keep it up! Also, sending good vibes from the Philippines, kababayan 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Loving the rebrand to your name. Considering you’re usually talking through the lens of psychology, it’s definitely more personable but at the same time, it’s not going to limit the kind of content you think you should be posting.
just started watching and i relate to driven by inspiration. every video i make comes from that I want to, i have to, area of my soul, the popularity of the subject and the algorithm be damned.
and to finish, yea. i too hope that the wave will lift creators who take the time to shoot their own b roll like us. the use of stock footage and gameplay is getting a little long in tooth there really isnt any difference from one person to the next when it comes to looking at a similar topic. here is to being hopeful. keep working.
Thanks I want it to be perfect too. Your videos flow and build and the look and style is so unique. I really appreciate this but you were right it flopped hard
this is such an incredible guide, especially comparing it to my experience in film school. you touched on pretty much everything i've learned so far and i'm 9 months in! glad i found your channel, it's time to binge more of your work :)
What I really like on your productions are usually the backdrop. Some youtuber would prefer a static and Iconic background that a lot of people go to and sometimes change it when you go into diffrent studio or its just a myriad of upgrades and the production quality should go up as well. What I appreiciate is a way back on some of your videos there are some static crt monitors (iirc) this had become striking and memorable to me. I don't Know I just like the feel of it.
I'm just getting started with my channel and am finding your videos to be really useful in helping me see what's "under the hood'" of the psyche of UA-cam culture. I'll likely continue binging these vidz.
I really respect your hustle and grind, Donna. Hope you're good with the name now Edit: did you use AI on your profile pic to make it so you're smiling? Hahahaha
Just found your channel, but please don't spare us the boring details. May not be for everyone, but it feels like you're limiting yourself just to make it shorter.
From Psych IRL to Internet Analysis to now, Donna. Always have loved your videos. Keep up the great work.
Actually it was Internet Impact 🤓 and I think Donna IRL briefly
Constant name changes aren't good for the algorithm
