Interesting video I love watching an experienced operator in a blade. They are amazing machines. I'm running a 160m3 tomorrow it's crazy you came out with this when you did. That 160 has all joystick controls I prefer levers though. At least for me, there are a lot fewer accidental movements plus you look so much cooler :) but I don't have much experience in a blade. I kinda got tossed in it for tomorrow. I'm balancing gravel on a rebuilt road and this is my first experience with grading a road I've only used a blade in dirt applications so we'll see how it goes.
I miss running a blade. Was one of my options when I was starting out. Did some finish work for FCI back in the late '90s for bridgework. Was running a 140H pretty new back then.
The blade is one of the few machines I never got any real seat time in. I got a half hour here and there to play around but I was never given any real seat time to learn the machine. I still want to....
@@DieselandIron maybe driving on them , guys hands are on the steering wheel more than the controls , slow down and keep your hands off the steering wheel.
As a guy about to get his first chance in a grader, I would like to know if this is the first pass, how many passes expected, and what each pass's objective is.
I’m going to be replacing an egress window well for a customer soon. Have you done any egress windows? Want to make a video on replacing a broken window well? Location is close by give me a shout my brother! Have a great evening keep up the awesome work!
@@DieselandIron Possibly this Friday, but I have to still go and get the window well and see if the timing works out. I hope you're doing well my brother!!
Sorry for taking so long to get back with you Allen! We lost power in those storms that rolled through and I'm just now getting caught up. I think he said he's been at it for about 20 years.
This gentleman is a “maestro”.., on those controls…. Awesome work. Great video.
Thank you sir.

Sorry for taking a bit to respond! How did it go? Almost everyone I talk to prefers the piano keys over the joysticks in a grader.

My grandpa used to be a pro with the old tree style blade. Great video
Thanks for watching!
Your the 🐐😂 been waiting on some motor grader footage
They are hard to come by! Most of the time the blade is too busy for me to flag down and stick a camera on. I've been trying for you guys!
YesSiRr!! This is pretty Awesome stuff Mate!!
Thanks Phil!
Pretty wild perspective from this camera angle. Must be his first day on the machine! Lol impressive to say the least. Thx
It does give you a much better idea of what's going on in front of the moldboard. I think this guy said he's been doing county roads for 20 years.

@@gq-cw6xi Thank you for the armchair operator response.
WOWW that's hardcore PRO!
The guy running this was a seasoned vet!
It’s an operators style video game with hands on experience😉😂
Exactly! 😆
One of the best i've seen
That I’ve heard is a beast to operate. I’m green 😂
These are some of the hardest machines in the industry to run. It takes years of experience to master these machines.

How is it going in the grader? Sorry it's been a month, we've had a pretty crazy summer!

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I've been swamped! Let me know when the job is and I'll see if I'm free to swing out.

It looks like someone knows how to play the piano. I'll be looking forward to that tutorial ;)
I'm trying to find someone that is willing to give a tutorial. I never got any substantial seat time in a blade to learn it well enough to teach.
How long has he been operating a grader? Sure looks like he knows what he's doing.

Do you prefer Deere Or kitty cat motorgraders?
I don't have a preference. I never really got a decent amount of seat time in a blade while I was operating.
