This arrangement is absolutely, mind-blowingly on the money. Every single chord and nuance from the original is accounted for, and the extra scales and chords really do add a lot. It's very rare that a piece of rock music gets the same sort of piano transcription that a classical piece would. Fantastically played, arranged and staged. This is truly brilliant.

I read your comment before watching and expected to see everything perfectly accounted for as I still haven’t found one that is simply perfect. And this one definitely isn’t there yet unfortunately.
Every nuance is not accounted for. There are many flaws in my opinion. I think he’s an octave too low for example.

@@alanmlkbanda No doubt each person will provide there own impetration. I think it's his personal preference as to how he played it, and I'd have to say it sounded fantastic. Its what makes him such a great Pianist.
There are many reasons why Jarrod is one of the best pianists on the planet. One of the reasons I love his renditions is because he doesn’t break the integrity of the tempo of the piece even when incorporating complex melody lines.
Many gifted pianists just can’t keep up the consistency of tempo.

I sat it my car today in a parking lot and listened to this song at least 3 times in a row. The more I listen, the more I'm absolutely blown away by it. I mean, I'm just in awe by it!

I'm a broke college student trying to make late payments for rent. I'm trying to scrounge some money to buy this score but I bought his Pirates of the Carribean one first. Guess I can say, I've never heard such a fulfilling and clear song at once. There's no ego, just the beauty of music. Well done Mr. Radnich and thank you for neverending inspiration. UA-cam is full of great pianists, but most of them are trying to show how many keys they can press in one second. You're the one who makes the music sounds right and beautiful and then, when I open my eyes, I see the magic of your hands producing amazing sound.
While I agree with the spirit of this comment, it’s possibly he played so many notes per second your ears couldn’t pick them up and your eyes couldn’t see them. I’ve never witnessed so many notes being played in one second in my entire life. It’s as if he literally fucked with the space time continuum to play this song.
If my mother were still alive, she'd give you a standing ovation (she was a classically trained musician, majoring in voice and minoring in the pipe organ and piano). For her the ultimate praise would be, "WELL DONE!"

I like how there's no drums, but the beat is carried by piano itself. The drums are not missed at all. And, after all, the piano is a percussion instrument. This was spectacular.

I don't know about that. Akmigone and Animenz have many covers that are on this level too.
Even for a piano cover without vocals, this was amazingly and beautifully orchestrated, capturing the original nuances of Journey's hit.

Keep focused on your goal and also enjoy creating music. You'll get there. (Practicing with a metronome is a really good idea too.)

Wow, didn't think he'll respond on one of his old vids that awesome! I'm also with you on this piece, been practicing this for sometime, made me realize how under developed my scales and dynamics were, so this is a great practice for me.
It's uploaded fine now, just watched it in 1080p.

Never have I heard the intonation of words in a song so well through piano as to know which of the melodically similar verses a song is on damn.
It's difficult to make a song like this actually sound great as a piano solo. I usually ditch "piano solos" for great accompaniment versions of songs. You have taken this art and skill to another level! Amazing performance and fantastic arrangement Bravo!
