Great. Great video! I am a 67 y.o. grandma and have never done anything with a bike but ride one from time to time. This video is super clear and easy and just the right amount of time. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I am ready to ride!!!
@@donnaalfonso634 I don't. If you're in pinch and only have a minor leak, you can use a fix-a-flat product, though I've had it leak out of the valve stem and make a mess. If it's a major leak you're better off replacing the tube entirely since they're cheap. You have to remove the wheel from the bike, take the tire off the rim, and then you have the tube.
Glad it helped, and that you're more comfortable! Biking is supposed to be pain free, so if you are getting any kind of aches, some adjustments of the bars or seat should do the trick!
I don't have one, but chain installation is pretty similar on any bike with rear gears. If the chain comes in a loop and already the correct size you'd have to remove the rear wheel and put it over the rear sprocket, derailleur, and front chain ring. If it's split you do the same thing but you don't have to remove the rear wheel.
Probably not the quick release. It could be the spokes or the hub. I'd lean towards the spokes since a hub going back on a brand new bike is unlikely. Go around the wheel and see if any of the spokes feel loose. The best way to do this is to sort of pluck it like a guitar string, or just grab it with two fingers and wiggle a bit. You can tighten a loose spoke, I'd go a quarter turn at a time. But remember that's what keeps your wheel true, so if you go nuts with it you'll end up with a wonky wheel. If you're nervous about doing it yourself a bike shop would definitely take care of it. Let me know if that helps!
hello, i am considering buying this bike today , can you please do a youtube review of the bike , i see 70 % good , and 30 % bad reviews for the bike. your assembly video is excellent , so i expect you or other rider will have first hand knowledge of it's quality / performance. the bike looks like what would be great for my riding . i would really like to know your opinion of the bike , it is new and for sale already assembled thank you very much !
Hi, thanks for the comment. The bike was actually for a friend of mine, so I can't offer you a first hand review. But I can tell you they've been very happy with it and have been riding it without any issues I'm aware of. I personally think it's a great bike for the casual rider. It's not the lightest or highest quality, but it's inexpensive, comfortable, and simple to maintain.

Flip the over so it's on the handle bars and seat. You should be able to pull the derailleur to make slack in the chain. Grab the chain, put it back on the sprocket, and turn the pedals to make sure it's back on.
Hi Steve! I bought this bike & followed your video to assemble it. However it doesn’t switch gears when I ride. What could be the issue for this? The rear tire came assembled could this be a factory issue?
I would guess it's you're derailleur, and could absolutely be a factory issue. Hey I’m having issues with the break pads rubbing along the tire. I’ve tried adjusting the metal wire, but I’m also having issues with the caliper being centered as well. Is there any further information you can provide?
You can loosen the nut that holds the pad to the arm to adjust it up or down if it's hitting the tire. As for the centering, there is a small black screw at the end of the arm. That adjusts the tension, and how the arms spring back after being used. Let me know if this helps, or you have any more questions! Bike brakes can be a real pain, don't feel bad if it's driving you nuts!
It could be a few different things. Does your rear wheel turn by hand? Will your pedals spin backwards? The reason I ask is to try and narrow down the issue. If something isn't spinning you have to figure out what part isn't spinning before you dive into trying to fix the problem.
@@alexusm-lw7bd I don't, but it's a pretty simple process. The only difference between removing a rear wheel and a front wheel is getting the chain off the rear sprockets. Just pull it up and drape it over the chainstay out of your way.
A hybrid bike is a mix of a mountain and a road bike. In most cases they have a sloping top tube and a more relaxed fork angle than a dedicated road bike. It combines aspects of both bikes to make something comfortable and easy to ride.
I know this video is pretty old, but my gear shifter is broken, and it won't move the derailer just if anyone has way to fix it or change the gear shifter on this bike thank you.
Is the shifter itself broken, or the cable? Either way you can buy replacement parts for it. I believe the grip shift slides off the handle after removing the grip, so it's not too difficult of a replacement.
@StevesGarage I believe it's just the gear shifter. I looked at the cables and didn't notice any cable damage. Also tried to take the grip off, and it feels stuck.
@@someoneidontknow7938 Those grips are typically pretty tight to begin with, which you want so they won't move. But that makes getting them off tough. You can try to spray something like WD-40 in there to try and lube it up to get it off.
Very well done vid. Thanks for posting! I'm considering this bike and a follow up experience vid would be great! One thing, if I may, is to check the direction of the front tire. Looks as if the tread is running in the wrong direction. 😊
While I can't make a follow up video because the bike isn't mine, I know the person I assembled it for is very happy with it! Good catch on the bike tire, it is backwards in the video. I realized it later and flipped it around. I should have made note of that in the video.
I have to admit that I also hate those generic instructions. I get it from the company standpoint, but as the person putting the thing together you're always left scratching your head trying to figure out if what you're reading applies to you. I'd say give it another go! If you have any questions about assembly I can do my best to help you out.

Do you know what size chain this bike takes? I recently came across one that someone was throwing out and all it needs is a new chain.
I'm not sure the size, but I know 3/32 is a common size. I'd check out a local bike shop if you have one, they're typically very helpful.

The rear end came assembled, so why is it that my pedals when trying to go forward seem stiff, or aren't moving my chain at all or back wheel at all?

Steve, the front wheel axle doesn't need hub hood safety washer?
It didn't come with one, so I'm assuming it's fine. I actually have multiple bikes that don't have that safety washer and they've all been fine.
