    Haha old lady recipes... love it...gonna try this one. My g-ma always had this weird round tupperware tray thing with little spaces for all the different vegetables. Right in the bullseye was the dip jar....sour cream with some french onion soup mix (that really crappy dry powder stuff you buy in an envelope) old ladyish but omfg soo good

  • @hilahcooking
    @hilahcooking  12 років тому

    Of course! You will have to add a little more olive oil than I did to make the dressing, but it will still taste great!

    Oh, we have something in common then! I copied that trick from my mom, too. I use it to saute vegetables or when I make chicken fried anything. Never thought about cornbread though. Genius!

    I'm always looking for different spinach salad recipes, and this dressing looks killer. Bacon grease is necessary. You've gotta offset all that healthiness in the spinach.
    When I was a kid, my mom always saved bacon drippings in an old coffee can, and she cooked with it. I carried on the habit when I started cooking on my own. I use leaner bacon now, and don't save it nearly as much, but you wanta kick up a batch of cornbread? Throw a dollop in that hot skillet before you add the batter.
