I'm kinda thinking that people in/from quarantine zones resort to that sort of thing, as it looks like anyone carrying any kind of weapon was punished, but that's just my guess. Obviously for Seattle it looks like they have knives because of the Seraphite war. Maybe knives just became hard to find in good condition?

I have a question, Is the NO RETURN mode acessible fully offline without any connection, or does it require constant online connection?
It's the only thing putting me off from buying the upgraded version, since i wont be having wi-fi for the next couple of weeks where i'm going, and i really want to buy the remastered version for the no return.
Think about it, you shouldn't be always online to play something that's not even co-op.
I'm pretty sure you can play it offline, you just won't be able to play the daily runs I guess.
