      It will get out there, and definitely once the track dries out! This is the first time I drove on the wet track and the clean up just isn't worth it! IN the dry it is so much easier to blow them off and quickly wipe them clean. I did have a good time out there and it was interesting to see how much different they drive in the wet than the dry. It is more fun in the dry! Lots of cars to get out there and drive around so more coming!

      It is a blast. I had a much harder time on the wet track than when I have run it dry. Still no pro0racer on it dry but the cars are way more predictable and consistent around the track dry! And so, so much easier to clean too! 30 seconds with the air compressor vs 30 minutes with the cleaner and paper towels!! I will be sticking to dry track run s from now on if I can help it!

    Nice run!👍 It’s great that you paired 2 entry level Tamiya buggies that represent the past and present. The DT03 handles better but the hopping hoppers are always fun.😊 The DT03 tends to understeer. I find that giving the front wheels more toe out and a soft front/ stiff rear suspension set up helps minimise it. Looking forward to more runs. I enjoy seeing shootouts of like cars. Timed runs are a bonus.👌👍😊

      I am pretty sure we will have a fastest lap board. I think the shoot outs will come time to time more for fun. I have such a wide variety of motors in them as I built about half of my kits stock and then built the rest with the tuned motors so there a lot of them with unfair advantages. I will try to pair them up the best I can though. It was fun out there running around! The cleanup was not as exciting but the track time was fun!

      @@AddamsPlayground Good to know! Maybe have a standard silver can installed for shoot out cars to keep things fair.😊👍 Cleaning rc cars can be therapeutic.. but probably not so much when it’s fully muddied up.😂 I get satisfaction from seeing them nice and shiny again.👍

      @@Toystheyrenot I think we are going to do a leader board and just note what motor is in each one. Occasionally will do some more head to head battles just for fun but don't think I will take them too seriously. I don't mind cleaning up the dusty dirty ones but muddy and wet are just not fun for me! My therapy is the build, the cleaning is tedious when it is this bad. I think it also stems from some past neglect of cleaning them up and damaging stuff from being lazy about it. So now I try and keep them all display clean, well most of them! There are a couple that get the air compressor treatment and they are good enough!

    Great shakedown out on the track Addam! My favourite think about a track is really feeling the difference in the cars back to back. The DT-03 loves to get the back end round while the GH bounces about all over the place! Great to see you having fun fella 👍🏻🙌🏻

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah there is some tuning to be done on both of them and I think they will do much better! I have gotten some helpful tips on the DT03 and the GH I just need to soften up the rear with some lighter oil and take out the spring spacer. It was fun out there running them but will not be runnign on a wet track again, damp or dry conditions only! It took forever to clean those two cars up yesterday! It was still worth it though, I had a great time!

      Thanks Jeremy! I am ordering a dry erase board to do that probably. I think the head to head stuff will be fun from time to time but a running leaderboard of fastest laps is probably the easiest to maintain. It was fun to get them out there and run them. I think I need lighter oil in the rear of the GH and a little weight in the front of the Fighter. I also got a recommendation, besides the weight, to add some toe out to the fighter to help it turn. I will do those and take it back out. I will do the leaderboard but I will do the heads up challenges from time to time with similar vehicles. I just have to many like vehicles with different motors so it may be hard to run the full line up head to head. As much fun as it was yesterday out there I learned wet track running is harder and way too much of a mess to clean up from!! I will be sticking to drier conditions moving forward. 20 minutes of driving and over an hour to get them clean... I like the compressor and a quick wipe down from running on the dry track much better!!!

    Oh, that was great to see! I'm happy for you, got that track laid out nice and taken into good use, lots of fun! Yeah the GH was just being GH, ha ha... The DT-03 didn't totally dominate, it struggled in the tight corner on the carpet, sadly that car has lots of understeer issues. I put a lot of brass (like 70g) in the front of mine, I find it helps.
    Yeah, I'd say do two cars shootouts, it'll probably fit the length of a video, but I know you'll figure something out as always!

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  2 роки тому

      Thanks, it was fun out there. I think I need to soften the rear on the hopper, some lighter weight oil and removing the spring spacer should help. The Neo Fighter will get a few ounces of stick on lead weights to see if I can get it to turn a little quicker. Once I can get it to tuirn I think it will be a whole lot more fun. Someone else also recommended to add some toe out to it to increase the steering so I'll try that after a little weight!

    The Neo Fighter is clearly a better track car, more stable and it seems to have some torque as it did a wheelie at 4:22 . The grasshopper lived up to its name and bounces around aimlessly.

    • @AddamsPlayground
      @AddamsPlayground  2 роки тому

      Yeah, it does do better but that torque and light front end lead to it not having enough forward grip. One of the problems I had with it was rolling through the corners was slow and turn wide. If I gave it a blip of throttle it wanted to spin out in the wet mud. I put in twenty or thirty laps each and while the hopper was kind of bouncing about and was harder to control at speed it did a lot better in the corners. The wet and slippery track did not help either so from now on it is dry track running for better consistency and less muddy cleanup!!! Twenty minutes of driving turned into over an hour of cleaning!

      @@canuckchuck8836 I usually don't either but it rained all last weekend so I took the chance since I got a break in the sprinkles yesterday. Won't be very often I do that though. If I do it'll be with a rustler or my granite as those are easier to blast clean and don't have all those little nooks and crannies to hold dirt in like the Tamiya cars seem to have!!

      @@AddamsPlayground I know what you mean. Sometimes getting stuff wet just happens. I ran my Summit in the early spring and it got totally soaked. It took FOREVER to get it clean and dried. I since have installed one of those chassis mesh covers to keep some of the crap out. It really restricts cooling!

      It was really me hitting the jump properly. I am going out there today and fixing the face of that jump. The wet track and messed up jump face was not making it easy at all to be consistent. It may also be my awful driving some too

    Adam! Bro! the track looks great! Did you build that ramp to any kind of regulation for RC racing or was it just a " I want it this big" kind of moment? I only had 2 other things to say
    1. Don't apologize about not being fast enough! You are doing awesome and we will patiently await your next vid regardless so keep up the good work and take your time. (quality vs quantity!)
    2. I really like the leaderboard idea but I was also curious if you would be interested in doing compare and contrast videos! Have two or three cars with similar set ups that go around the track and you talk about the handling, throttle response, etc. of them right out of the box.
    Again the track looks awesome and I saw the neo fighter really having a hard time with those corners compared to the grasshopper it seemed. I look forward to see the crawling video coming up and have a great time on your upcoming vacation! Stay frosty and have a good one!

      First, thanks for all the wonderful feedback, I greatly appreciate it. I built the big jump not intending on it being so big, that kind of got away from me but it works so it is now a "feature"! Nothing was done to any spec, just a design in my head and the area that fit into the frame of my good camera were about the only reason it is what it is. I made most of it up as I went alone following the general theme. Surprised me on how big it ended up but it works well, I just need to flatten the face to get rid of that kicker that formed from settling. I apologize about ranting about time and stuff so much, I am trying to get a few videos ahead so I have a buffer and I had so many things close but not here yet it was stressing me out more than I thought. I had a good weekend and should have 3 or 4 videos edited by the end of the week so that will put me pretty much where I wanted to be. That is a big relief for me! I am getting a leaderboard set up plan on tracking the top 20 fastest runs out there. Going to run a heads up video occasionally just to add some fun to the mix but won't be tracking them and will only use the fast laps for the leaderboard. Thank you again for the kind words and feedback. I really appreciate it, it helps hearing stuff like that from time to time!!

      @@AddamsPlayground of course man, I've thoroughly enjoyed your content and I'm glad to see someone doing more than the "let's see what car goes the fastest or jumps the highest". It's nice to see someone just review and build the cars and go over the parts out of the box without straight modifying them as soon as they come out. Thank you so much for what you do and keep up the great work!

      The initial time was weed killer spray from the hardware store. Afterwards I use a large torch or a spray mixture of salt water and vinegar. I try to avoid the harsh chemicals as much as possible. I have lost too many brain cells over the years so trying to hold onto the few I have left!!

      I think it could use a tiny bit of weight on the front in. I have some sticky lead weights I add to see if it helps. I drove this one second and it was so different from the grasshopper part of that was me having to go from one car to another and they handle and drive so much differently. So a little lack of steering and a loose nut behind the wheel was a lot of it!
