In 1968, I took my High School Sweetheart to see Romeo and Juliet. I still remember how tightly she squeezed my hand during this song. It was a wonderful date with the girl I loved. We went to Missouri University together. Unfortunately, our junior year, she fell in love with another boy. I was devastated. They were to be married only a year later. The morning of her wedding, my mother called me at Missouri to say that, a few days before her wedding, her fiancé had called off the wedding and dumped her. My mom said my ex was devastated. For a brief moment, I thought we might reconnect. Then I realized what a foolish idea that was. We had both moved on. Two years later, she calls to just say hello. I had no desire to speak with her. When I tried to end the call, she interrupted me and asked me to accompany her to Midnight Mass. I was dumbfounded and went silent. She asked again. And again. Finally, I agreed. When I saw her and her beautiful smile, I realized I was still in love with her after all this time. Two years later, we were married. 42 wonderful years together. One fantastic son. Every time I hear this beautiful song, I remember that day she held my hand so tightly. God, how I miss her.

Sick voice, for sure. Remember her from AGT and went crazy over her. Like wine, she has just gotten better and better with age. Her control over her voice makes it that much more beautiful. Sick voice, for sure. Remember her from AGT and went crazy over her. Like wine, she has just gotten better and better with age. Her control over her voice makes it that much more beautiful. Her high notes are phenomenal. She has many more videos on youtube (thank goodness) so that we can enjoy talent and beauty even more.

This stunningly beautiful woman, with the voice of an angel, is a gift to humanity from God. I've seen Sarah Brightman in concert as well as other sopranos. None is better. Barbara Padilla is absolutely world class. Her voice is extraordinary and her life story should give all of us the strength to pursue beauty and love. Bravo!!!
