I feel like this song addresses the problem that you have to look squeaky clean to go to church and you can't bring your dirt because that just messes up the image

I’m lonely Scared Addicted Confused.
I am blessed to have a youth group where I can be unafraid to share anything with almost anyone, but as I listen to this, I realize most people don’t have that. I have friends all over the country with many different youth groups, and I can quickly tell you can’t tell everything to everyone. Most just aren’t ready, some will judge, and others just won’t care. I got to a mission trip in st.louis, you can see spiritual maturity on the faces of many people there, they’ll listen, they won’t judge, and they won’t be overwhelmed. I need to be one of those people cause you can still see groups where nobody in that group is ready to hear, but everyone is ready to speak. I am so blessed to be part of a youth group where half the people there are just ready, almost all that go on the trip. But still, not everyone has that.
I wonder, what is the best way to reach out to them, to be a safe space, so many people have born my burdens. How can I bear theirs?
It's crazy how this song resonates with me so much
I'm so thankful to be a part of a church body that does a great job of loving on sinners, but also chasing fast after righteousness. It's a beautiful thing.

My family was literally kicked out of a church just on the basis that my husband didn't appear happy enough and my daughter who has Asperger syndrome was too difficult for the children's ministry to handle. Praise Jesus though, we end happy. We are at a church now that is so very open to imperfections and my daughter, now in high school has been loved with open arms regardless of struggling with social anxiety.
I learned not to look to man for the image of Christ and to never NEVER give up, no matter when it seems as if there is no hope.

Wow, that's awful. We don't have to be happy all the time to be truly in Christ. In fact, it's very clear throughout Scripture that tears are a gift from God. Sadness is much different than depression, and even then, those struggling with depression ought to be helped in any way they need to be. I'm so glad you're at a sound church and that the people are radiating Christ.

Thank you....perfect timing. Crying and desperate due to unending chronic pain. I feel guilty for asking God to help. So many others have it so much worse. I just want to have less pain so I can be productive and a good servant for Him. I can't even volunteer much now.. Your song helped.
Lori Gustin I hear you. I live with intense daily pain myself. God alone gets me through each day, so please don’t ever feel bad about asking Him to help you. Every person has their own type of suffering, but seeing others in a “worse” situation than you, still does not minimize your pain or my pain. You don’t have to be grateful all the time that it isn’t worse - you are allowed to cry and to say it sucks sometimes too!! You can be both things at once too - hurting for what you are living with and grateful you are not facing what some others are facing. It is not an either-or. Jesus can handle both!!! So, reach out to Him without any guilt whatsoever and go easy on yourself. Just because you cannot serve in the way you used to, or what you think the norm/expected way is, doesn’t mean you cannot still serve in different ways because their is no big or small service in Him, only a willing heart. Hi. I know what you mean about the guilt. I struggle with that too. If it helps... the Bible says Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for us. And remeber were his children. Would you want your child to be hurt and not at least tell you, especially if you could fix it? Wouldnt you at least want them to come to you for comfort? But above all, remeber Hes got a good and perfect plan for those who love him no matter what. Love ya!
Never do you “ever” need to feel guilt for asking your Heavenly Father for “anything” he wants to give goodness to his children. And you never need to minimize your pain, it’s pain and it’s so sad we’ve been “conditioned” to minimize our hurts …. Hugs 💛

My initial reaction to the lyrics after I got thru the first verse and chorus was 'ouch'. This song resonates in an uncomfortable way, which is really good because so many of us feel like this and this song can now be a tool to start that conversation.

I just love this track... So real for me. But I have learned that GOD is The Someone to talk to... JEREMIAH 17:5, JEREMIAH 17:7...But Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in HIM. He will be like a tree planted by the water.... whose leaves are always green.. ". Brothers and sisters, let us heed God's Word, and trust wholly in HIM and not humankind. People will always disappoint you, coz we are all human and have shortcomings.
