That is the HEATING Element that goes for the Hot Air Gun. Congrats on your Gift.

I bought the 3A version, and did a similar video to yours on the station. Great job with your video, so I had to watch it all the way through. By the way, it took me a while, but I found out that little black plastic handle with the wire is used to hold down surface mount components and other wires/components that you use the hot air soldering on, so you don't burn your hand.

What is the difference between 1A, 2A and 3A models?

Thanks for the video. That tool is an IC extractor. It assists in pulling chips without bending pins or discharging static.

you have to use three cables connected to the power supply, that way you can have it output power and act as a multimeter at the same time. Adjust the voltage with the output-display switch on, then you turn it to test-voltage and you can use it to measure the voltage.

The soldering iron will turn itself down to a standby temp if the iron doesn't move for a period of time. If you shake the iron you'll hear something rattling around. That is why. The auto Manual switch sets the airspeed based on the temperature setting I never use it. The thing at the end... I was hoping you figured out what it was for because I never did.

Just got my hands on what appears to be a v2 of this very unit.
As far as I can see, the only difference is the heat gun comes with a din style plug like the iron and is thus removable where I note yours on this one is not, and indeed mine is the 240v model for use in the UK.
How have you found using it? Reliable?
Looks and feels very impressive, very excited to get myself a few minutes to test it out properly. Would appreciate the feedback. Great and informative video.

I was a bit disappointed with mine at first. The iron was not getting hot enough to melt solder and I had to get out my old Radio Shack unit that is so old the insulation is falling of the iron lead. I will give it another shot without 100 feet of extension cord. Maybe that will work.

@@gunedisminder8696 replace the tips for some hakko tips, the soldering station is great i have had one for a few years, but the tips it comes with are not the best, fitting genuine hakko tips, allowed it to work very well and quickly.

Yep still have it. Works good. Hardly a day goes by that I don't use it for something. Really surprised how much I use the heat gun. Only weakness is the power supply part is a little wimpy. Nothing wrong with the supply just low power. I think they make one with a more powerful power supply. Thanks for watching.
