apologies if a comment below has stated as such or if you've learned this already but you can use thermite like the tasers and skip downing enemies first them burning them. Love your runs carci!
This instantly became one of my cherished horror games because of so many things. Namely, it doesn't hold my hand, it demands that I think and observe my surroundings, and makes every micro achievement feel earned. Im currently in the mines.... scary!
Hey bro just wanted to say thanks for uploading this. I just finished my survive difficulty with classic inventory playthrough for my 100% completion of the game. Couldn't have done it without you bro. Thanks again! subscribing for sure
Started watching this video a few days ago but decided to stop and play the game for myself first and boy do i not regret it. It's pretty rare for me to get immersed in a game to the extent i did with signalis. I thoroughly enjoyed every second including all the little nods and references to classic horror games, it's a love letter to the genre and i absolutely adore it
For instance, I felt so smart when I deduced the solution to ADLERs astrolabe puzzle! I drew a sketch of the system orbit, later used the eye device to cap it, and when trying to figue out what the planets were, I thought, why not check the poster in memory? Solved! It's amazing that none of the resident evil games recent have anything even matching this single puzzle. Im so happy I took a chance on this experience!
The shotgun shells at 35:59 is branded “后羿”. There was a mythical tale about how there used to exist 10 suns in the sky. He is a legendary Chinese folk hero from 3000 years ago who allegedly had the power to shoot down 9 suns using only his bow and arrows. A fitting name for some flechette (arrow) shotgun rounds.
Wow that's really cool. I can read some Japanese but it's very different characters ("mine" and "missing person" wouldn't be written with those characters) ... I haven't tried to crack any of the Chinese in this game.
Hadn't heard of this game before but I can see why you like it. Really strong classic horror/stealth vibes, I can see elements of a lot of games like RE, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and so on. I feel like anime such as Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell were heavily referenced as well. It feels like a thoughtful homage, but I also feel like it brings enough new elements to the table to escape being derivative. Incredible that a game of this quality was made primarily by just 2 people.
also rare to see games from my country these days, the setting (and symbolism) of the dystopian autocracy seems to be inspired by the german socialist dicatatorship and their overthrown predecessor by the german empire (still under the monarchy), also all the replika models are named after birds
Hey Carci, I've been binging your stuff lately and I love your vids. I loved this game! Signalis was a breath of fresh air for me during I time where I felt completed disinterested in more contemporary games. Survival horror is my favourite genre and this game was the perfect love letter to the classics. Lots of people are pointing out cool tidbits about this game so I'll mention something I really liked - this game doesn't have a single bullshit LOUD NOISE BANG jumpscare. The devs were entirely confident in their product and didn't need to taint it with annoying startles, just classic spooky vibes. It doesn't feel crummy recommending it to people thinking they might hit a single jumpscare and never turn it back on.
I just realized the Devs are probably massive Monogatari fans. The way the cutscene playout is exactly like that series. And also, the 2d art style is also reminiscence of that series too, Ariana Yeong looks like the amalgamation of the two main female characters from that series.
This game came out of nowhere for me and it's been living in my mind rent free ever since I finished it, what a masterpiece. Thanks for the walkthrough as always!
I just gotta say, I downloaded this game the same day this got uploaded. And so far, haven’t beaten the game, but I love it. Also love the lockpicking lawyer reference Carci.
I usually watch your videos regularly in order to pass the time or sleep. This is the first time I used one of them as a Walkthrough. I played this game back when it first launched for the switch, now I wanted to reach where I left off. This video was a great way not only to complete this challenging game but also to do it without lossing many items. Thank you Carci! Ps, that LPL impresion was spot-on!
The soundtrack is amazing, it's very important in this game because it gives you the feeling of fear, despair, mystery and hope. Signalis reminds me of the movie Pandorum combined with the videos of Umami/Interface. And the references to Die Toteninsel and The King in Yellow added something unique to the plot. Thanks for the recommendation for such an amazing piece of art.
It's very Silent Hill in a lot of ways. The gameplay is more Resident Evil, but the aesthetics and storytelling are definitely more Silent Hill. I knew that someday, someone would make a game that incorporates the best elements of both major game lines, and it seems like it's finally been done.
Man I always use your RE walkthroughs, just used your shadows of rose one last week. Finished my blind run of signalis tonight and while looking for any decent walkthrough for 100%, I see you already have one up. Keep doing gods work Carci.
Just finished a casual play, really good, good job getting this out so quick. Right before you put this up I accidentally found out you can completely skip the pistol.
I kind of disagree. This little Indie game seems to be getting a lot more attention than most other indie titles. This game came out of nowhere for me and just flooded my recommended on youtube.
Ten minutes in and I know this is an awesome game, I'd love to play it myself but if you do any more Signalis in the future that'd be awesome, thanks for the upload Carci
thank you this carci, i've been curious about the game for a while but i can never really find a good demonstration/breakdown of it. I just bought the game and i'll get to it once im done with the new GOW
Stoked to see you taking this one on. I got sidetracked about halfway through and never got around to finishing it so I figured I'll just watch you do it, instead! Maybe someday I'll finish my game...
i was watching like a couple minutes of gameplay, then instanly bought this game, and now after 9 hours - im watching this again, but now with sad knowledge, ty for video and great advice of a game!
When i first got my hands on this game, i thought that probably, Carci will do smthng like "No Damage, Survival, No kills" run. Well, i was partially right. Glad to see that this game gets recognition it deserves. Great run, as always!
I remember clicking on this video a while ago, never hearing of Signalis, and got about 10 minutes in and realised that I HAD to play it! I love Silent Hill and Resident Evil and knew I just had to get my hands on it. Yesterday, I finally got all 4 endings (had to pull up a guide for the secret ending though 😅) and now can revisit this video! This game is just so amazing, I felt like a genius when I beat it the first time lol. Great video, I think I wanna challenge myself and do a no damage run now 😅 Thanks Carci for getting this game on my Radar 🥰
For what's worth, I could definitely feel your frustration with the whole mute/claim segment and the explanation given. Really enjoyed this game, more than what I was anticipating aside from some issues here and there (I do agree, contact damage was just...unfortunate). Had a good time trying to put things together, getting my own interpretations, discussing them with people, and frankly the whole game is pretty neat to play. Loved the throwbacks, the references; now I wanna pick up The King in Yellow and read it. Past Carci deffo made some eyebrow-raising moves through this video (sacrificing rifle ammo for pistol ammo my favorite impulse decision to clear inventory), but I can only imagine my first playthrough was similar, so I can't blame him. He seemed to be having too much fun, which is neat!
Heads up to anyone watching this in 2024, a lot of the situations where he was able to sneak by enemies without aggroing them no longer work, had to shoot a couple extra enemies here and there after aggroing them and getting hit to 1hp or getting 1 shotted. My tip would be to be VERY cautious around any segments where he mentions sneaking past enemies and use your best judgement for where they might aggro or not. Protektors section in particular had at least 2 key locations where this was a problem and I had to use up a bit more ammo to get the job done.
really loving this game...the weirdness, the inspiration from classics, etc i think the only downside is as carci said, contact damage, and the fact enemies can spawn really close to the door and they immediately aggro.
A month passed from your comment but what I've found is if you go just one room away the enemies don't reset and if they chased you to the door they stay there. But if you load 2 rooms away then it resets the positions of the enemies.
I saw the image of The King in Yellow in a review, although they didn’t move the dialogue forward so I wasn’t sure if it really was supposed to be that book. Glad to see I wasn’t wrong :) I was intent on playing this game already but the inclusion of my favorite book adds extra incentive.
1:19:51 (Nowhere) You can go through the caged door ways, without ever having too even enter the codes, this is done by moving to the left or right side (I do left) and just move a bit and try to while still facing the door, face away from the number pad so the prompt for it doesn't come up, if your positioned correctly you can get the prompt of the door too come up and you can go right through to enter the new room and you can leave as if it was opened, it's a weird bug, but honestly kinda useful if you want to remember the codes nor wanna go back and forth or even looking up answers.
The fact that you can miss the "Frequencies" note and lock yourself out of getting back to it is so annoying. I ended up having to brute force the SWORD puzzle by decyphering every single frequency. Took so long.
Wait, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need the frequency list to open up the Tree safe puzzle since it's randomized? Which means by the time you get down to the sword puzzle, it should already be in your document list?
Lmao the false ending had me freaking me freaking out when I first played it. Legit thought what an incredible game,as tired as I am lemme replay the first part with a few changes to the visual and gameplay settings and...wtffff these aren't the notes I got before, the things I have to collect aren't there anymore. Hell yeah I have more of this incredible game to play.
as you might already know lilies can reproduce by themselve or in this case "self-pollinate" and it's mostly used as a symbol of sorts in yuri genre of anything so in the secret ending might imply that the two are maybe lovers great run as always carci
A pistol that fires 10mm Auto and a shotgun that fires flechette rounds. Nice to see lesser known ammunition get some love. To me ammo is the most important part of guns and yet are weirdly often overlooked.
This was surely an amazing game. I hope more game devs did survival horror games. Signalis understands the essence of survival horror even better than Capcom, and they came up with Resident Evil, it's crazy. Great run!
Pretty much the only game I went out of my way to purchase after finishing it on Game Pass, only to play it for another 30+ hours. It obviously takes a lot from Silent Hill and other games, and it can be rightfully criticised for it, but man this game hit me in a way that hasn't happened in well over a decade for me. It might be a bit short, but imo it feels like the perfect length. Regarding the radio alerting enemies (during the Eulenlieder section for Falke's room) , it definitely does make it much more likely you'll alert them, it doesn't even require music to be playing based on my experience after testing it out.
Hey, do you know how does the Kolibri damage works? i did exactly what u said, and in the menu i saw how my hp droped from blue to yellow. i thought opening the menu froze time or something, but im not really sure how u got no damage and it happend to me twice. Rn im pb3 and 2 of those hits where kolibri
If you happen to already know the solution for most puzzles involving codes, you can skip them. So, for example, if you know the code for the first puzzle is 13589, you can skip picking up the photograph. When you encounter the uncorrupted STAR replika in Lipenski, the photo materializes into Elster's hand and she shows it to her. If you know the second code, 204512, you can skip the first encounter with Isa, but you can also screw yourself by skipping the pistol.
I love this game, but I still feel like the inventory is slightly too small, especially considering that your weapon, equipped tool, and the flashlight all are forced inventory slots for a good chunk of the game. The flashlight should not have been an inventory item at all, it should have been an upgrade like the radio was. But overall, a very memorable experience for such a short game. I finished my first playthrough in just under 7 hours, and I managed to only die once, and that was to the final boss. Way too much of that time was trying to figure out the Sword puzzle, lol. Once I figured it out, I felt dumb, but it was a good puzzle.
Super cool game, I just beat it a couple days ago, I managed to get the Promise ending first try which felt great since I'm not the kind of person who has the patience to beat games over and over. Only died once to one of those weird things that distort the screen, for some reason I didn't think to just kill the other enemies swarming me first even though that's the obvious strat. I really hope they do another game in the same universe, honestly my only issue with the game is that the 6 item limit feels pretty needlessly limiting, running back and forth to shuffle things around was a little too much padding. Beyond that the only puzzle I had to look up was the lockpick one, my brain was just not processing that.
You can use termites directly like a stun prod except they burn the body. There's also an exploit to kill the mynah as soon as the fight starts with a thermite
So exactly which puzzles and codes change each playthrough? I feel like some of the solutions were different my second run. Also, what time are you going to shoot for for your speedrun? I hope to see you play more of this game!
Anytime a puzzle requires you to use the radio to get a code, it's randomly generated, the others aren't, so if you are playing PC, screenshot the solutions and make yourself a cheat sheet.

Yeah I know, but you have no s during the attack, so you are typically going to take contact damage.

Thank you for working so hard on getting these up and with such enjoyable commentary. Rather watch a Carci run than any other creator.
Watched the first 10 mins so I don't spoil too much but I'm convinced. I'll pick this up later this week
The vibe in this game is insane. So glad you did this run.
Hey Carci, I've been binging your stuff lately and I love your vids.

The ultimate horror comes from trying to get that Promise ending.
I got it on my first run which surprised me because I played pretty conservatively. I was super slow though so that might have done it.
Promise is really easy to obtain so long as you play as sub-optimally as possible.
The real nightmare is getting Leave.
@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588 thanks for that.

Great video! I just finished playing this today and its awesome.
immediately came to check if you covered signalis after finishing it myself and loving it, so thank you!
I'm glad you showed this game some love. it appears that it's getting lost in the AAA noise and that's a shame because it is a remarkable achievement.
I kind of disagree. This little Indie game seems to be getting a lot more attention than most other indie titles. This game came out of nowhere for me and just flooded my recommended on youtube.
Commenting for the Algo ! Have a nice day Carci ! Your content helps with my anxiety on my days off of work. 😌

Carci thank you for doing this, just did my first play through absolutely loved it!
Thanks a lot dude, your walkthrough helped me out a great deal for the more cryptic and confusing parts of the game.
Love that you're doing some other more content! Listening to you play is so chill and relaxing!

Carci, Thanks again for another fantastic walkthrough! I fell for this game so bad and I was very happy to see you did a run. Greetings from Colombia!
Best horror game since RE2R and Soma. So good!!
The lockpickinglayer reference made my day XD first thing I thought was "pin 2 is binding" :3
I remember clicking on this video a while ago, never hearing of Signalis, and got about 10 minutes in and realised that I HAD to play it! i was falling asleep and that lock picking lawyer intro sounded so real XD thought the vid got skipped and it woke me up.
I loved this game, thanks for the walkthrough carci ❤️
Hey man, nearly two years late to the party, but this video helped me get the survival achievement. Thanks so much for making this video
There is also significantly fewer resource spawns now, getting WAY less ammo and equipment than was shown here. Hope this helps someone!
this is my first time seeing this game thanks for showing it to me
that fake out was amazing lmao! this game is awesome! very cool run I learned a lot
Great job carci I really enjoyed the run and the game as well
By far of the best games I've ever played, if not the best.
you’re the goat for playing this
Psychic Lesbian Androids

This game is an experience. I can't say I understood the story, but man if it wasn't a worthwhile trip.
Yay carci uploaded
Trying to do that run on just casual difficulty. Falke kinda slapping my ass though. Just need to grind more.
did it
I saw the image of The King in Yellow in a review, although they didn’t move the dialogue forward so I wasn’t sure if it really was supposed to be that book. Glad to see I wasn’t wrong :) I was intent on playing this game already but the inclusion of my favorite book adds extra incentive.

You can go through the caged door ways, without ever having too even enter the codes, this is done by moving to the left or right side (I do left) and just move a bit and try to while still facing the door, face away from the number pad so the prompt for it doesn't come up, if your positioned correctly you can get the prompt of the door too come up and you can go right through to enter the new room and you can leave as if it was opened, it's a weird bug, but honestly kinda useful if you want to remember the codes nor wanna go back and forth or even looking up answers.
Cool game, great run
Thank you, thank you, thank you for playing this. Im on my 3rd viewing because of just how enamored I am with this game.
I just bought this on Switch. Any game that puts a Rhino in as your handcannon has got to be good.
Man, what a trip of a game
The fact that you can miss the "Frequencies" note and lock yourself out of getting back to it is so annoying. I ended up having to brute force the SWORD puzzle by decyphering every single frequency. Took so long.

Finished it myself for the first time 10 minutes ago. Now let's watch it again. Magpie goin' crazy.

Lovers? No way, this game doesn't have overt lesbian overtones!!
@@CarcinogenSDA nah just my speculation nothing is confirmed.
@newbplaygames I think the lesbians held hands in a scene. It's subtle, but there are hints to your theory. Just speculation.
Omg yes!! Top tier "The Lock-picking Voyeur" content FTW!
I didn't realize this game was really going to throw me for a loop so quickly. Lol.
A pistol that fires 10mm Auto and a shotgun that fires flechette rounds. Nice to see lesser known ammunition get some love. To me ammo is the most important part of guns and yet are weirdly often overlooked.

Not necessarily. That logic assumes Capcom has always had the same staff on every game. The RE2r staff get it. RE3r and Village staff don't.
Just here to boost the algorithm

That's interesting. They only damage you if you get too close or if you allow too much "real time" to pass while changing the radio.
This looks really cool, like a horror game meets Witch Hunter Robin or Ergo Proxy.
Here to boost this game and video
This would be a great movie if done by Robert Eggers, with all of the transcendental stuff done by guest director, David Lynch.
Still love that Ghost in the Shell reference in that ending.

That's my one criticism too, is inventory is too small. :\
Beyond that the only puzzle I had to look up was the lockpick one, my brain was just not processing that.
will you make a video routed the way you would have wanted? id love to see that too this game is so interesting
Nice to see indie games here, have you played Fobia St. dinfina hotel? is a indie game that looks like New RE games
This game is very good, hell yeah
Later in this month Carci will release a No Fap walkthrough of November 🤣🤣😂😂
That's stupid, lmao
I've never heard of this game but it looks so pretty :0
Great to see a post that is not Resident Evil. More like this, less RE, I think you've exhausted it!
You can use termites directly like a stun prod except they burn the body. There's also an exploit to kill the mynah as soon as the fight starts with a thermite
You do take damage 99% of the time. So it wouldn’t work for carcinogens intentions.
Yeah that is why I didn't do it. That's good for speedruns, but ur forced to take damage there :(
So exactly which puzzles and codes change each playthrough? I feel like some of the solutions were different my second run.
Also, what time are you going to shoot for for your speedrun? I hope to see you play more of this game!
Anytime a puzzle requires you to use the radio to get a code, it's randomly generated, the others aren't, so if you are playing PC, screenshot the solutions and make yourself a cheat sheet.
Awesome carci! Hope you’re keeping well and getting much needed rest
I am super confused with doors leading to impossible ways in the second half of the video.
It's a nod to the final dungeon in Silent Hill.
Love the LPL reference
Gotta love how past carci is hell bent on ruining runs yet can never do it. Past carci paradox
Love u carci
