You need a dog for your walks..but I guess Mrs H would frown on that.."meow"...lol.....all that water I would be fishing...Good walk..Beautiful country...and great History...perfect day.....and Tea and cake too...lucky Boy
OH no Paul!!! You're driving on the wron side of the road!!! 😁😁 Very enjoyable!! Great countryside you have at your disposal. Always loved to go hiking in the Peak District back in the day with my parents..... wonderful memories. Thank you for bringing a bit of that back.
After you told me where this was on your recent video yesterday 31/10/22 I looked up Llyn Idwal on UA-cam for a better look and blow me down, you popped up from yrs ago!! 👏 👏 Brilliant!!
Beautiful. Absolutely breathtaking. The sky, the light, the slate, the water everything's picture perfect. Even the drive up on its own was amazing. Thanks for taking us along.
You and MrsH made a Great Pair of Adventurers! Beautiful scenery, local livestock and fine athleticism. Really, there is not much more one could ask of a Day Trip Adventure. On a side note: the still photo of You about snack on the shortbread gives the optical illusion of a pipe being smoked. The stream in the background looks like smoke rises from a pipe due to the angle of your hand and general positioning in front of the mountain. Great Stuff all around. ;-)
Paul this was great video thank You. By the way The movie the Dragon Layer or slyer. Was one of my favorite childhood memories watching that movie with my Dad. It was one of our favorite movies to watch together. But now the movie has even more meaning as Your Wife Mrs H had a part in the movie when She was very young that is so cool.
TFS Paul 👍 I really enjoyed the scenery around there 😊 I would like to be climbing with those people, but no place to climb around here 😔 I've worked out on the booms of Tower Cranes when I was younger 😉
Stunningly beautiful there! Mmm! Were those little scoff shops we passed on the way there? The camera work this video was 👍👍 spot on! Haven't seen such work since John Ford's classic western "The Searchers"! Really did enjoy the video and the truly touching story of Mrs. Roberts short bread recipe! It's kinda like she lives on and everytime you make it she is saying hello and maybe she gets a text in Heaven letting her know your thinking of her also!😉 Wonderful story and trip thank you for allowing me to travel with you and Mrs. H. most appreciative! Atb to You and Mrs. H. Your friend! Mark here in Texas!
Thank you Mark, yes there were a few scoff shops, including a good Fish & Chip shop...lol.....I had a good camera crew :-).....nice to keep the shortbread recipe going too, glad you enjoyed the trip Mark....have a nice weekend.....all the best...Paul.
I would never get tired of experiencing such beautiful scenery as that! Driving through the town at the beginning was a little unnerving - here in the States, our buildings are setback much further from the roadway...
Some nice scenery here, always enjoy it, yes the small villages some are close to the road, but no problem really.....used to it really...lol....thanks for watching.
Really enjoyed this Paul - I'm not sure how busy it is ordinarily when you visit or go camping but it still looks like you caught it on a fantastic day. Quite a chuckle to learn it is where "Dragonslayer" was filmed; that was the gold standard for movie dragons for many many years and really in the years since 1981 they may have equaled but not improved on it. BTW I'm with Mrs H when it comes to the joys of trail running - it's far more fun than sticking to the road. You need greater concentration for your foot placement but the visual aspects are so rewarding (as is the workout lol). Great job by both of you. Cheers - Rob
Yes it was quite considering it's the weekend really, always love this area, and never tire of it.....yes they filmed day and night here apparently, and used a lot of local people as extras which was nice ( and cheap ) I expect...lol...yes Mrs H loves this type of run, as you say have to watch the footing... all the best Rob....thanks.
Bloody hell Paul you are tempting me to drive from Deeside to do this.Looks like it would be very much worth it ,would be tempted doing it during the week less crowds.Love those tarns so atmospheric. Good vid with great sounds of the water.
Good Saturday evening Paul! I like the view along the lake while you were driving. Then this waterfall is awesome. Why is it called the Devil's Kitchen? Mrs. H is running sure footed along that patch...maybe in my younger days I could do that. Nowadays, I would break my neck. Careful with that zoom Paul...some couples might be enjoying private moment...lol. That is a touching story about how you received the shortbread recipe. Yes, I did enjoy this video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Todd, yes some nice views here, millions of years of history right in front of you, amazing really....it is called the Devil's Kitchen because when the clouds/mist rises up through the gulley it looks like smoke from a stove, so they gave it it's name, and the Devil's Kitchen always sounds more dramatic I expect..lol.. thanks for watching, :-))
Thanks Mark, actually no it's the same camera, but when I exported the video from the editor I used the wrong settings by mistake, but it looks great...lol..
Yes, the head of a glacial valley. The glacier that formed the Nant Ffrancon valley. Also visited by Charles Darwin who studied the cwm's geology. (I only know this because we went there on a school geography trip. I knew it would come in useful one day. :))
You need a dog for your walks..but I guess Mrs H would frown on that.."meow"...lol.....all that water I would be fishing...Good walk..Beautiful country...and great History...perfect day.....and Tea and cake too...lucky Boy
It would have a good life that's for sure...lol.....funny enough not sure there are any fish in the lake actually....thanks Bill ;-)
Nice video 👍 one of the best Lyn Idwal walks I’ve seen!

Lovely spot, Paul. Been through many times on the way up onto the Glyderau and I did some rock climbing up there many years ago. Beautiful place.

Thanks Mark, actually no it's the same camera, but when I exported the video from the editor I used the wrong settings by mistake, but it looks great...lol..

Always enjoy Cwm Idwal, can't beat it, and yes will do one day thanks.
Thx for saying hi
Your very welcome Caitlin :-)
Cwm Idwal was carved out by ice , the legend says that no bird will fly over Llyn Idwal
Didn't know it was carved out by ice, amazing isn't it....the power it had.....had heard about the bird not flying over the Llyn...cheers Graham.
Yes, the head of a glacial valley. The glacier that formed the Nant Ffrancon valley. Also visited by Charles Darwin who studied the cwm's geology. (I only know this because we went there on a school geography trip. I knew it would come in useful one day. :))
I know your shaving Channel, don't you have a third?
I do yes, NorthWalesParanormal......but don't do a lot on that these days.
And he also has another "channel" which he won't tell us about! :P
The devils kitchen? I think in your kitchen the food is better.😂😂😂
Lol....I hope so :-))
Does your wife ever go walking with you? Might be interesting!
She is with me on this walk, and she filmed most of it.. :-)
