- This is a pretty quick car and has enough power for most however, the competition is faster. My previous car was an '07 Infiniti G35 and it felt faster. The engine is smooth and has a nice sound though plus the car handles really well!
Put it in manual mode and let the car shift for you. Just make sure traction control isn’t totally off and it will hit 62 mph in 2nd. Feels better and normally hits closer to 7k redline
Thanks for the tip!
“Put it in manual mode and let the car shift for you”.
@TrumpsDaddy The car will auto-upshift at redline in manual mode. It won't get even a little close to redline in auto mode.
The RWD does 0-60 in 5.9 to 6 seconds the AWD does it in 5.3 second I seen a video
Interesting how these newer ones are lower than the 2008 is350s lol what
I'm not impressed with the 0-60, but it does sound good. Lexus needs to do better on their performance car. Cool video though!
I agree. I wonder what it's like to drive the IS500. I imagine it's much better. Also curious if an ISF will come out 👀
@@TheTravelingTexan well for starters, the V8 in that car sounds GREAT! I heard it's pretty quick. I think they did come out with the ISF. I want to say it's the F Sport Performance.
@@SammyLeau Yeah, the V8 model is called the IS500 F Sport Performance but there's rumors that next year they're coming out with a full on ISF that will have a twin turbo V8 and over 600hp. That's really something! At any rate, I'd be happy to get behind the wheel of even the regular IS500 F Sport Performance since as you said it still sounds awesome and has plenty of get up and go.
@@TheTravelingTexan oh really? A twin-turbo V8?! Now that will awesome! Who are you telling... I'll be happy as well. And the sound will be exhilarating. I'll let you know if I ever test drive one.
@@TheTravelingTexan I've driven an RC F, it's a fantastic engine. Transmission also feels much more aggressive in the F. The IS 500 has the same engine and trans as the RC F, but the chassis of the 350 with some minor changes like the Yamaha rear damper.
I have a 2022 es 350 premium same get up and go homie! I love Lexus ! Maybe the 500 next in like 3-4 years
Nice! I've driven an ES350 before and they're really nice and you gotta love the V8 in the 500 😁
Does your engine always emit a whine? Especially at higher RPMs?
Yup. Think that's normal
@@TheTravelingTexan Nice, free supercharger whine!
@@thehonda8290 Exactly! Haha
The sound is very good.
Is it the sound generator from the speaker?
My LS500 is the sound coming from the speaker and I don't like it very much.
It does come from the speaker and amplifies it but you can turn it off. Sounds good either way :)
@@TheTravelingTexan 고음이 더 많아지만 LFA 소리와 유사합니다.
You can swap a 4.08 diff from a 2IS. But you'll lose the AWD if you just swap the pumpkin over. If you swap the ring and pinion themselves then that's the key.
wdym
i did the swap, check my post on clublexus
The 2is was the fastest version. The newer models are more economical and comfort oriented
Nice!👍
people saying it’s not fast are dumb as hell these are so quick. they typing that while driving a 01 civic
Pretty quick cars considering the weight of the car close to 3700 to 3800lbs. They really shine in manual mode on mid to high RPM's. I have the 2016. Wanted the RC F so bad. Soon I will make you mine RC F 😁
I agree and the RC F is sweet, you'll own one someday! My dream is a GS F 😁
Also I don't know if you still have the car or how many miles you got on it, when you change the spark plugs at 60 to 70k miles, I highly recommend getting NGK ruthenium HX spark plugs. The acceleration response in so violent when you floor it is just ridiculous. Especially when you drive on S mode and manual. They are not cheap spark plugs about 15$ each. And you need 6.
@@Mel007ize Oh, nice. Thanks for the tip! I still have the car and it has a little over 26,000 miles but don't think I'll keep it till 60k miles, looking to trade it in for a GS F or something similar someday ;)
Nothing quick at all about these 🤣🤣 a ford explorer ST is faster than these with about 700+ pounds more than these lmao
This is why I traded for an RCF lol
Lol, the IS500 did fix the issue though :)
but... it V6 and around 310hp why it seems similar to my Audi 45tfsi A4?
Audi likely launches harder and has a more efficient drivetrain
Cool
Fk I counted 12 sec to 60 on the first mode and 13 on the second mode bro
My 2019 BMW 330i is quicker, but I love the throttle response on the IS350. Also it sounds great.
Absolutely! BMWs are much quicker but there's something intangible about the IS that makes it feel special and have character. That being said, the transmission annoys me at times because when I get on the gas, it isn't as responsive as I'd like haha.
@@TheTravelingTexan There seems to be a lag or delay in the throttle pedal in the IS 350, I've noticed. It is super weird. But if you're in Sport mode at high RPM it isn't as noticeable.
@@ARentz07 Yeah, I noticed in sport mode the throttle response is much more responsive and it tends to hold the revs longer.
BMW might be quicker but Lexus will last x3 longer
@@wallaceblake24 💯
Absolutely no difference between drive modes. NONE
6.2 on my I movie
you hear that fake noise pumped in lol
Yeah lol. I think you can turn it off.
It’s not fake. There’s microphone in the intake manifold that amplify the sound not fake it.
@@TheTravelingTexan You can! There's a little dial down to the left of the steering wheel on the lower dash. Just turn it all the way down until it clicks.
@@fldashxam It's fake. There is an "Intake Sound Generator" under the hood, true. But for 2021 they also added "ASC", which is, in fact, fake. It can even be turned off with a dial.
This looks like 7 sec. With 300+ hp?? Slow af. My G37 is mid-5s.
noh this car on the video did 5.5 sec
Yeah I hate to say it but it’s a dog my 2015 gs350 is faster. Great car aside of the lack in power though
It is a little disappointing. My My 07 Infiniti G35 was faster. When I first got it I thought it was a 4 cylinder lol but the acceleration became better I guess after the gas pedal got used to my heavy foot. The GS is really nice. I wish they still made it. This is a good car but I'm looking at trading this in later for a more spacious car. If I could find a GSF at a good price I'd jump on it.
@TrumpsDaddy Haha, you know it! I knew it was an amazing engine but now I realize just what a gem of an engine it was.
@@TheTravelingTexan Yeah you have to rev it out a bit before it starts to feel strong. I've owned my 2021 IS 350 for a year now, and have gotten used to it. Coming from a VW GLI, which had a lot more low-end torque, for a while I was a bit disappointed, too. But the IS 350 feels great on the highway where it can rev.
@@ARentz07 Agreed. I have to floor it in order to feel any sort of power. I eish they added more torque in the lower rpms. Also, sometimes when I want to merge into a lane the transmission gets confused and there's a big delay before it gets going. Kinda makes me nervous at times. I will say that when I put it in sport mode, the throttle is much more responsive but it's still a little disappointing from a sport sedan that isn't cheap.
@@TheTravelingTexan I'll take the naturally aspirated feel while it's still available, even if I have to put my foot down to wake it up from time to time. Not for everyone, but it makes the car easy to drive smoothly and gives it some personality. Unlike my old VW, I actually want to go to redline haha.
Around 6 sec? Thats awful slow for 2022
It's a little under 6 sec. There was also a slight incline but yeah it is pretty disappointing, especially considering the price. My '07 G35 was faster
@@TheTravelingTexan yeah totally. I have a q50 redsport and it’s day and night difference from my Lexus is350. Lexus is so much more capable of this.
@@undergroundflow The Q50 redsport is a beast! It's on my list of cars I'm looking to trade in for in the near future but I'm a little concerned about the reliability of the turbos since I've heard some stories. I'm also looking at a TLX type-s or a CT5-V.
@@undergroundflow shut up dude
Not for a naturally aspirated engine. This thing picks up more in the upper range 60-100 mph than a quicker turbo 4 cylinder will.

.slow
Yeah, it could be faster, especially compared to the competition.
