In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Great video! I have already upgraded and I have experienced the difference Livescope makes. Picked off fish easily below huge schools of alewives on a local lake. 👍👍
Hi can you tell me what settings you had when you were seeing the perch in the grass at about 6:08 in the video? Midnight blue , and is it forward or down? It looks like forward but I cannot tell. Can you give me your setups . Gain. Auto?/ just got mine . Trying to learn. Thanks
My concern is with using LiveScope for LMB’s in deep water on larger lakes with an Ultrex. In spot lock, the trolling motor is constantly turning, which affects where it points the Garmin transducer.
Im trying to figure out, do I even need a traditional sonar if I can use the forward scan on the pan optics to find them and the down view to get over them. I currently have a hummingbird side and down scan. Could I keep that and add Garmin transducer and unit?
Chris Hadden no you will have to have some panoptix ready unit from Garmin, it will come with a transducer with the kit, the panoptix kit will be an additional cost/add on. I have the 93sv. It’s mounted on stern so I can graph while idling around then when I find a spot where I need panoptix, I drop the trolling motor and have a look around for active fish. So before you buy a Garmin fish finder make sure it is panoptix compatible before buying, not all will accept it.
It will only pop up if the brains for it had power. I have mine on a switch so my panoptix is just running all the time when not needed. When it’s turned off the icon goes away.
There is a video at YT made by Brad Wiegman it shows the transducer on the TM in the thump nail already. The mounting is shown at around 0:23 full screen.
Kayak fishing For predators that video does not show what I'm looking for.....I want to see how Paul Mueller has BOTH of his panoptix transducers mounted on his setup. Thanks anyway.
Devin Martin I know how to mount transducers to trolling motors......the thing is, I want to see how HE has BOTH his panoptix, and livescope transducers mounted to HIS trolling motor along with his side/down/2d transducer.
Approx $1500 for the LivesSope sonar unit (incl transducer) and another $800 or so for a Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 93sv which is capable of using the new LiveScope technology.
you don't need a 93sv. You can get a 7" and save even more money. You can get the fish finder and panoptixs for $2,000 or less if you can get a good deal somewhere
Save up and get the biggest one you can afford, you will hate yourself if you just get this technology on a 7”. The bigger the screen the more you get out of it. Eventually you will be mad enough to upgrade and would have been cheaper to just save up another month and get what you really want. Sell a kidney if you have too, it’s worth it!
Hello. Good video. I have a question: I want to buy a fish finder just like yours and the livescope transducer, but do I need a classic transducer for 2d sonar, down scan, side scan, or this transducer has that technology in it? Thank you.
The panoptix transducer only gives you the panoptix views i believe. If you want 2d, side scan you need a second transducer. If you buy a more expensive model you can get a fisher finder that can have two transducer ports but it cost about the same as buying two fish finders with only one port or you can just switch it out as you need one or the other like I plan on doing for now.
GrayGhost 01 I have been wondering same thing. If they are hugging the bottom and still or buried up in wood they will be hard to see I think. If they are blue cats that are more active you should be able to see them. I have had mine out and I think I have seen some catfish scooting by close to the bottom. But I have not had it in a river system yet to really try it out.
Why even call this fishing. You need no skills to fish this way. It is pretty sad what fishing has become. And the saddest part is that there is so many "anglers" that will pay for it. When i started fishing it was fun. Now it looks like some kind of technologic war.
I hear a lot of broke jealous crybabys the only people going to spend this kinda money on fishing are tournament fisherman who make money off it and we put them back into the water unlike the once in 3 month guy who has to keep the big female that they were lucky to catch with a Walmart pole and combo lure kit and let it die and probably not eat it . I love my unit ind the only thing it has taken from anyone is a couple bucks
My 2D view on my Humminbird looks completely different than what you see on the Garmin here...the graphics on the Garmin are horrendous looking....take away that live view feature and it looks awful! I'll wait for Lowrance or Humminbird to mimic this technology.
I have to tell you , Frank, most of the people I know who use the 360 system are not really that wild about it, unfortunately....there will never be a perfect solution: I have found, that when wind allows you, dropping down an Aqua cam will greatly assist what you see on the sonar. Fish will ALWAYS have the advantage though, even with the Aqua Cam where you KNOW they are definitely there, they still may not bite despite all your offerings.
Ignorance is bliss, Lowrance is licensing Garmin technology to come out with there own this year, you think its going to be better than this??? Can your 2d differentiate between fish species like you can with livescope? Can it go onto a flat and scan 100ft around your boat and find suspended fish within 5 seconds? Can you troll past a dock and see a live feed of pilings and fish underneath? At 7:00 you can see the school of panfish literally swim away, can your 2d do that? You honestly think dicking around with an underwater camera is better then panoptix? That is laughable.
I commented on the GRAPHICS, not the accuracy, or any other factor....the graphics on my humminbird put Garmin to shame in terms of CLARITY...that is why I would rather wait for their version of this technology, assuming it will be easier on the eyes than the Garmin....I said nothing about 2D being superior in accuracy to Side imaging or 360, or panoptix: I THINK THE GARMIN GRAPHICS ARE UGLY...they are hard on the eyes...period....
It was cool to see them swim around, but really cool when you had one hooked and could see it coming up to the boat.

At 7:00, any idea what kind of grass that is? Is that millfoil? How thick is it?
milfoil and thick
@@pmuell08 how do you have your transducers on your trolling motor setup? Ps-21 on shaft, and livescope transducer on the barrel?
How do you fish the dropshot? What weight on that depth and what distance between lure and lead (or tungsten) weight?
Any reason u using gpsmap instead of eachomap ?

forward view 30 ft, midnight blue setting, tvg medium, gain cranked up as much as possible until you get noise
How deep will it work...? Will it reach 170’ lake trout jigging ?
yes

Clint E bought mine just put system on my kayak Predator PDL lol it’s already awesome
Awesome video, thank you very much. Best regards from Sweden, tight lines.
How to do you bring up the livescope to your screen ? does it auto pop up when you turn the fishfinder on is there software to load ?
you have to get the newest software update on your unit and a window will appear in the sonar menu for it
It will only pop up if the brains for it had power. I have mine on a switch so my panoptix is just running all the time when not needed. When it’s turned off the icon goes away.
what color scheme is that on the down view ?
Great video . I see your a Dobyns Fan. What rod do you use for those pearch ? I was thinking about trying there trout / panfish rod 741
So, how does he have the transducers mounted to his trolling motor? Can you show a picture of how it's all mounted up please?

Yeah or on the auto deploy pole
claytonhaske go to the garmin website and search the transducer and click the accessory tab on the transducer page to see all of the mount options
Devin Martin I know how to mount transducers to trolling motors......the thing is, I want to see how HE has BOTH his panoptix, and livescope transducers mounted to HIS trolling motor along with his side/down/2d transducer.
How does waves affect the image? Does it render it unuseable because of the squiggles?
works fine in waves and wind
I have a question, I was just wondering what is the cheapest sonar from Garmin that I can use livescope on? I'm on a budget thank you
Approx $1500 for the LivesSope sonar unit (incl transducer) and another $800 or so for a Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 93sv which is capable of using the new LiveScope technology.

Are you using the lvs12 or lvs32 transducer?
Thanks
LVS32
I just told myself this now. I need to switch to Garmin. The hell with my unreliable hummingbird. I have more spare units for parts than working units
Can you get forward and down on one unit?
yes for the livescope transducer its just one click for either forward or down
How good of image can you get in stained water, or while trolling?
great, guys rig them so they can see their bait and the down rigger
SO you need 2 tranducers that are $1500 each? I would like to know.
Just one, unless you want two fish finders like him
Well you will have the original side/down imaging the original unit came with, then then panoptix one mounted on trolling motor.
Какой датчик?
32
do you have a separate tranducer for regular old 2d and structure? I assume the live scope transducer is dedicated to only live scope.
yes livescope is forward and down. for sonar, down imaging and side imaging i have a GT-52
@@findfish5250 So do you have to have two displays or can the GT52 and panoptix be selected on the one display?
Id be curious to see this work in 40 to 60 fow.
With 1 to 3 ft chop on lake erie
it works great in those depths, i will have more videos coming
Excellent footage. Will I shell out the money, not anytime soon.
I'm sold!

Yes they are two separate transducers
Yup crazy badasss, speechless...
what a boat is that ?
Paul Mueller will win a cold water Classic
...very cool but the colors make it hard to tell whats fish and whats weeds
there are different color palletes to choose from and also settings to where you can tweak it to your eyes
Love garmin technology

Have you ever fished with this or a sonar. It's the funniest way to fish by a longshot
and to mention that some of the smaller lakes and reservoirs will be fished out in a few years .... smaller limit's to come.
$1500 to catch a mess of perch?
lol
Why not save time, buy the Perch and you won't even have to go out?
It's $1500 just for the livescope transducer. You have to buy a Garmin Panoptix unit as well which is another $1500+.
TRY $2300
Not sure where you guys are doing your shopping at.

Why don’t you just go electro-fishing with a net. A whole lot easier, this completely takes the fun and skill out of fishing
That’s cheating!
