- The life among the deserts does not belong to the easiest. But the Imperial Guard has known worse and its various divisions know how to adapt to the harshest of conditions.
The Tallarn Desert Raiders is an Imperial Guard regiment - loyal and faithful to their Emperor. Their planet is cursed by a constant heat and waves upon waves of merciless sand plains. However, not only the Tallarn learned how to survive - they also taught themselves how to use the environment to their own favour.
Their combat style resolves about the likes of desert guerrilla warfare accompanied by a heavy support of tanks and artillery. It is not only the knowledge of the desert that gives them an advantage. It is how they use it against their enemies.

There's just one thing that strikes me: In my imagination, the inspiration for the Tallarn regiments comes as much from Arab and Middle Eastern culture mixed up with Lawrence of Arabia as it does from the British Desert Rats and Stirling's Commandos, an aspect you might have underlined a bit more for my taste.
I imagine Tallarn Guardsmen strapping themselves with explosives and charging head on at any Xenos they can get close to...

something just clicked with me that bothers me a lot about the thumbnail. The belt being fed into the heavy bolter is normal bullets.

they should make differences between all the specific imperial guards types in the new codex like desert raiders can walk 6 inch shoot like normal then throw a d6 and they can walk in the direction u want after shooting. to descripe thier shoot and run tactics

The reason why the Tallarn Desert Raiders are so devoted to the Emperor, is because the Emperor gave them new shoes. (if you don't get this you probably didn't play Command and Conquer: Generals)

Well, it's actually a funny thing. I do have tons of music fitting for the Space Marines I just never could make a single Tribute out of it (too many 'intro music' tracks, for example). But rest assured, I am working on those. Though, I start to feel the anticipation from my viewers. ;)

The world of Tallarn was virus-bombed during the Horus Heresy. Human survivors emerged from underground shelters to find the entire planet reduced to a lifeless desert. The hostile environment made infantry warfare impossible, so the dunes of Tallarn became the scene for huge tank battles. Despite overwhelming odds, the natives of Tallarn prevailed. To this day, the Tallarn are the foremost experts on guerilla/desert warfare, as well as having some of the finest tank crews in the Imperium.
Awesome tribute as always! But i have a question, would you consider making a death korps of krieg tribute? I think that you will be able to make something really good out of it. Please consider, and again, very good tribute!

Infantry warfare isnt impossible, just not preferred. One of their tank companies screwed up in logistics and didnt have enough fuel to carry out a raid, so all the tank crews dismounted and assaulted it on foot. Best victory ever :p

What video editing software to do you use to make these?
Hey dude.
Up until and including the Eldar Tribute it was Windows Movie Maker. After that, pretty much stuck with Sony Vegas. It's not free bit you can grab the Steam version very cheap on a sale.
It's a bit buggy and the dev still didn't address some outstanding issues but its UI is really good for simple projects like these.

Good job! It is always especially interesting to watch a regiment you barely know anything about. I mean, basically all I know is that it is Imperial Guards inspired by the Arabs fighting for The British Empire.
