The tin voice did add multi-racial. But I disagree with "race" - it is a lie. There is no such thing. It CANNOT be BIOLOGICALLY demonstrated. It's an artificial concept, that is largely based on outer characteristics, demographics and group identity.
@@teleportasmr9580 Not all colored people in Cape Town come from Khoi, some have colored have Asian roots, for e.g., Cape Malaysians have roots in Malaisia.
@@teleportasmr9580 I also think that Khois are not originally Africans. I think they came from the Amazon and Islands in the Atlantic Ocean between the American and the African Continent. During their journey to the Western Cape, they passed by Botswana. I think Batswana used to call them Masarwa. Then they were chased out of Botswana and they ran to Namibia. Namibians also chased them away, they ran to Cape province. Some were left in the Nothern Cape and the others went to the Western Cape. On their way to the Western Cape, they came across Zulus who were running away from Shaka. The Zulus took away some of them and went to the Eastern Cape to form what is called Xhosa (a mixture of Zulu and Khoi languages). If you can go to the Eastern Cape, you'll find that most Xhosas look like Khois. When a white man came to SA found some of the Khoi (who were not taken by the Zulus to the Eastern Cape) in Cape Town and thought they were African native but they were not.
@@o.ghanylo617 I don't know what you base this "history" on. You are really on a wild goose chase here! There is no indication that Africa was populated from South America. Unlike Oceania, the Atlantic ocean is not full of islands. The people who first occupied southern Africa were nomads. They constantly traversed the area from the east to the west. They were here long before the Zulus. The world that you portray here is a densely populated region more suitable to the 21st century than the population of way back!
The term colored in South Africa was initially used to describe an offspring between a black and white person. Most so-called colored in SA, especially those in the Cape do not have black or white people as their ancestors. Mostly they have roots from Asia, just as people in Madagascar. Therefore, people should do ancestral DNA and use a large percentage to identify themselves. For example, as a Cape Townian, if a large percentage says that you have roots in Malaysia, use Malaysia to Identify yourself. As a Cape Townian you'll call yourself a Cape Malaysian instead of colored.
@Chapo Gonemma The Khoikhoi and Sans are not Africans, those who are not originated from Asia, are coming from the Amazon or some Islands in the Atlantic ocean. South America also locates most of the Khoikhoi and Sans.

We may think we are colored, white, asian or politically correct black, but our DNA genetics may tell a very different story. The color on our faces reveals absolutely nothing as to where or what our true origin is. In the meantime I am, for record purposes classified as Cape Colored. Apartheid actually consolidated all the mixed race people into a new nation . We as the coloured nation have developed our own culture and history through our shared life experience as a unique people , not black not white . We've suffered together the indignities and injustices at the hands of both white and now black . So maybe some good has come out of apartheid .
I’ve got a question if anyone can help, I’m British and I’m white but my mum is coloured from South Africa and when people ask me about my race it’s very complicated, how can I easily described my race to people?
your mum's coloured but your saying you're white? Are you going by phenotype? Would'nt you technically be mixed race? What kind of coloured is she? It's an umbrella term there's multiracial ethnic groups like Cape Couloreds, Griqua, Basters and to an extent Cape Malays and then there's individuals who are coloured like Trevor Noah who is a biracial Xhosa
Your Mom is coloured and your dad might be a white man, i suppose...it depends how you were registered, maybe one of your parents decided to register you as white...we as coloureds are so diverse in DNA...usually we only know our own parents and grandparents decent..but they are also already mixed from people half of us does not even know, the great, great great, grandparents...who were they and from what decent?
As an African American I appreciate this history lesson because I learned something new. So are colored people in South Africa still treated differently in 2023 by blacks and whites ?
The black govt discriminates against the coloured people who are treated as second class blacks . It's sad because these same black Bantu Nguni tribes in power here are nothing but foreign migrant settlers from central Africa . The true aboriginal indigenous people are the KHOI and SAN tribes . These first nation people are today sidelined and ignored .

I'm still confused as to how people would mix the terms 'coloured' and 'biracial'. They're literally not the same thing.
The name coloured was given to the pure Khoi but when they made mixed kids those kids continued calling themselves coloureds besides them being mixed their are only a few Khoi left now who arnt mixed
I am from south Africa and I'm coloured
That's just not true. In the Cape we have African,Asian and European ancestry. All studies show this. Stop lying to people!
