Two more days! I’m excited to leave this place...this video hit all of the points, and I had to finally admit that I work in a toxic workplace. Gossip, ridicule, passive aggressive, cliques, preferential treatment...what makes it worse is the manager participates in this crap.
I am in a very toxic office right now. I’ve been there for 7 1/2 years and my manager is awful. She hates confrontation so if a coworker is being bullied she doesn’t want to confront anyone and then when you go to HR she gets so mad flips out screams yells throws her hands up in the air and will not say good morning to me and treats me nasty. I need to look for a new job.
After almost 9 years I left a toxic work environment. I experienced everything you listed, except for growth and I did grow and hit a plateau and I knew they were going to back me down. I also worked for a person who was much younger, definitely in the clique, gossip group that was in a leadership position and the breaking point for me was his micro management. The situation keep getting worst (with his new leadership position) and he would not discuss it with me. It got bad, he would come in (late) never say good morning and close his door all day. Everything that came through my desk I had to work with him. So I emailed him when he was one office from me.
Very helpful and I’m glad to have found this video. My job is the most toxic work environment and I’ve heard it’s been like that forever. I try to grow but the job employees are friends with management so one that clique gets pushed up. Crazy and it’s time for me to get on a better track. 💪🏼🙌🏼
Well even though this video is talking about a working environment in the office. In my case i had 2 jobs (now 1) and one of em was a pizza joint. I was hanging in there but the one thing that killed everything and became the sole reason why i left. Was the manager himself... Was always constantly hovering around me telling me how to do my job and always telling me im not doing it right and to hurry up over and over again. Spends too much time in the kitchen instead of just leaving it to the other managers hands (which they are doing their job and not slacking off) and the clique part i didnt care cause ive always been the social outcast but again it was him and himself that was making it toxic. Since especially its family owned. He runs one location and his wife runs the other.... I worked much better when he isnt there. But in all honesty key to the whole thing i just wasnt happy at all!! So instead of ending it amicably with a notice or letter of resignation. I just immediately removed my apron and walked away not looking back...
My job doesn’t like that I am shy and keep to myself. The entire place is filled with cliques and there is open belittling of people. Managers talk openly about issues regarding certain peoplein front of the entire office. I was told I’m not a culture fit cuz I’m shy. Just completely bs I think

@Brichanise Terrell no still there but she was spoken to by HR and she has gotten better with her attitude.

For me it’s not so much a toxic work “environment”, but a toxic boss.
