The Evolution is tougher, but the tail section is still in need of attention. If you get one, make sure the glue joints at the back (where the foam tail connects to the fuselage) are properly adhered. Mine wasn't. Landings - even the most gentle - are going to quickly do damage to the tail as the skid provides only 5mm of clearance below the tail's control horns. And, the battery compartment is too small for most 4S 2200 batteries. But, you don't need 2200 if you're going to be gliding the plane half the time you're in the air! And, it's easy enough to make a little extension for the tail skid. I wouldn't call it a learner's plane as it IS fast - but it definitely gets 4 out of 5 stars in my book!
I was at my local hobby shop today and he had one of these in stock. I got it after watching your review and I am glad I did... Love it, keep up the great vids
loved my first one lol was doing a power fly by runway when a guy just started to walk across runway as i was hitting 70mph it was hit him or ground i hit ground but have new one pre-ordered should come in 9/14
What I like about powered gliders is they can fly for a very long time. Get them high in the air, cut the throttle then just chill out and fly. That's a good price on a quality e-flight plane.

I’ve been the same way as your friend. I take the Evolution to the field every time I go out. It’s my warmup plane and because of it easy to assemble, the plane I travel with throughout GA and SC. (Along with the ArrowsRC Viper and Marlin. All three planes that Nate was directly responsible for me buying. All 3 planes added to the cart as Nate was doing his post flight comments. Eflite a-10 will be the 4th) The Evolution is just fun, easy to fly and on 4s you can fly like a pissed off teenager. (I’ve already ordered a 2nd Evolution. I’ll fly this plane and enjoy it throughly till I’m dead. It’s just so multipurpose and perfect for any skill level)
For those thinkiing of any new Horizon Hobby BNF models. the AR637T TX installed in these models is locked. That means if you ever crash or tire of the model, you either throw away a 120€ TX or are forced to buy a BNF of the same model and reinstall. Horizon refuse to help you unlöock the AR637T and so it can be used in other models. Also interesting the 2 comments below about needing to reinforce the nose and little support in UK.
This is not really accurate. This is not a 673T, but a 637TA. It's locked because they are still creating the model files for their released plane models. When the 636 came out, they locked the 636A the same way. They didn't unlock the the receiver till later with the B. If you want an unlocked receiver, get the PNP and install a 637T. You'll have all the forward programming features from the start. Also, the 636 and 637 files are different. They do not transfer. If you wait a few months, HH plans to unlock the 637TA for forward programming. So if you tossed it, you're going to be upset that you're essentially out $100.
@@AirVexedRC Thanks for the information... that is more than HH provided. In fact I do have a the "open" 637T in another model use Fwd Programming and very happy with it. What triggered my comment was when I later purchased a Conscendo with 637TA and was not able to connect with Fwd Programming. When I contacted HH to find out why all I got was "the 637TA is locked and if your model breaks buy another PNP same version". The reply was not very user friendly and given that HH often discontinue models... if that attitude does not change then eventually the 637T will be destined for the scrap box. However if what you say is correct and some months down the line HH allow owners to "unlock" and use Fwd Programming then its not so bad. But at the moment thats not the case... And why not have this option from the get go?? I know its a BNF but if people want to access with Fwd Programming, their risk, why block them ..... least provide a little more information up front.
@@markparsons5677 I totally agree with you on them not being entirely forthcoming on the information. I was at the field this past weekend and met somebody who put Flaperons and Spoilerons on his Conscendo Advanced, splitting the aileron channels. And because he had the 637T he was able to access the Forward Programming to activate the SAFE Select functionality. He wasn't able to effectively use the plane more as a glider without that functionality. When I tried to split my ailerons and engage SAFE Select on my Conscendo Evolution, I was locked out. The other aileron had AS3X only. So, I can't wait until they unlock them so that I can access all the features. The only reason I know what I do is because I watch their HH Live Air Hang Out and other media. Their marketing guy, Jason Merkle, has answered this Forward Programming question quite a few times regarding the Conscendo, Night Timber X, Air Tractor, and future 637TA models in the pipeline as the 636 receiver series is phased out. Apparently, the chips used for for 636 are no longer made. So, a transition to some new receiver was happening regardless. If they were truly prepared, they'd already have the 637T programming for all their 636A/B, and 637TA models. Their response would likely be that they planned to, but have been unable to really get into the lab and conduct and validate that work for release while under IL and CA Covid rules are in place. I've already heard it with some of the technical issues I tried to address over the phone, not just when I call about Sales concerns.
@@michaelbrill6609 Yeah I'm not a fan they are not terrible transmitters but from all the test I have done , hours of reading blogs and watching reviews Spektrum is really prone to brown and blackouts and you have to mount the receiver antennas perfect and even then they are more prone to brownouts and the system reboots while flying and if your close to the ground your plane is gone. At least that's my experience but if you like it more power to you. It's all about having fun. Thanks for your comment.
Wow! Don’t know how I missed this. I always watch your videos the day you put them up. Somehow I missed THIS one. Paid up for two years of AMA dues, YESTERDAY MORNING....alas, no discount...

can u set up your own mix to help with 1 input balanced turns without upsetting SAFE - presumably the gyro sees past servo positions to the actual flying balance? - Can u try mixing in some rudder and elevator to aileron input so it will do balanced turn just with aileron stick movement? (have settings set up on a selector switch to enable immediate back to back turning comparison)

Would love this, but telemetry is only spectrum ready, as I'm Frsky x12s I'm not sure if I'll be able to receive data. Any suggestions?? Is there a multi module available for Frsky TXs to bind, receive data ect from these bind and fly models. Starting to think I should have got a tx16 or t18 over a second hand horus x12s for cheap
Went to our local hobby shop down town to pick up foam safe super glue and ended up buying this plane. There are two people in our club that already have one, so any issues I have, I can ask them. This is 10 months after watching this. As I demolished the Eluna I had last night, I have more room for this plane.
I have over a half dozen gliders mostly 2.5 Meter ones and I've had this one for about a month now and I actually enjoy it. A little more versatile flying style and options. Great video by the way.
@@upperechelon3456 Hi - is it overly difficult to land on 2200 3s batteries on a large grass field ? I don't have a lot of cash spare to buy 1300's or should I do the right thing ? Cheers.
@@matt79hz It is not difficult to land on a 3S 2200 battery. Just give some real estate to bleed off speed and you will do fine. This will turn it into a rocket capable of doing vertical climbs beyond VLOS.

How do you like this compared to the night radian? And you guys should do a comparison video between them aswell as a comparison between the arrows husky and the carbon z cub ss
Honestly there is not much to compare. I know, two cool gliders should be easy to compare, but they aren't. Nothing can touch the lights on the Night Radian. I only like flying that puppy late in the day. This plane is WAY more fun to fly in the day. I guess it all comes down to what time of the day do you plan on flying the most? If this helps, please consider purchasing (backordering) through our links. Thanks and Happy Flying 😁👍⚓😎
IMO rudder use is optional. Let's you turn a little tighter but you can fly the Conscendo without using the rudder at all, and its rudder response is not very aggressive. So it would likley be an easy step from 3ch to 4ch for you.
If you are sticking with Spektrum and Horizon Hobby then a Dx6, or Dx6e are great starting points. Consider getting the versions that have a telemetry receiver if your budget supports it. They are easy to use and program, reliable, and will meet your needs until you get into more complex planes with flaps, and retracts, etc.
For these EFLIGHT Bind and Fly models like this Conscendo, You need a Spectrum Radio to bind with the crafts receiver (which is already installed in the bind and fly aircrafts). I recommend the DX6 or DX6E minimum but If you have the extra $, go straight to the 8 channel version (DX8 or DX8e). The 2 extra channels on the DX8 is well worth the little extra $ for more complex fight. Especially when you need 4 channels for basics (speed, aileron, rudder, elevator), then you CAN set up a 5th channel for skill level (SAFE/AS3X selector switch), a 6th for Flaps, a 7th for Retracts, and the 8th channel for a possible cargo bay door open/close, etc. If you buy this Conscendo in PNP (plug n play) version, then any 4 channel minimum Transmitter/receiver brand should work (tactic, futaba, etc). Conscendo only needs 4 channels for basic flight and a 5th channel ONLY if you want to select between SAFE mode and AS3X mode while actually in flight.
@@freefallnfoamy6764 I just ordered a dx6 for use with Conscendo. I hear I will not be able to have a vehicle later on with telemetry + flaps on 6 channels. Is this correct ?
NX8 will be best imo, the DXE's are not supported anymore. The NX8 has most of what you will need unless you get into the big planes with lots of channels.
I have a Carbon Cub S2 that I have been flying but I've always wanted something I can send way up there and let glide around. Im hoping I can toss the Spektrum reciever in this from the Cub as it has the SAFE stuff and flight modes so I dont immediately destroy it xD
great little power glider (oh nad happy birthday nate.) you mentioned a ling for insurance I looked at all the links and you must have forgotten to add it.
Great video!!! The link for the transmiter shows a DX8 and DX8e But I believe you're using the DX6e on the video is it wort the extra money for the DX8? I'm new at the hobby and trying to save money. Thanks and keep the amazing videos.
Is this for beginners because I got the green 51dora iif I'm saying it right and haven't flew it yet because I don't want to reck it I bought it because I said a beginner could fly it but I flew a jet I have and the d51 next so I'm kinda a beginner what u think should I give Dora a fly
Hi folks I'd like to record some of the flying I and my friends do. Can you recommend any particular camera or camcorder to use? I recognize it's a challenge tracking and keeping the planes in view let alone in focus. I think you guys do a great job recording your flights, so I thought I'd ask for some insights and suggestions as well... Thanks!!!!!!!!🛩
I’ve got one I’ve got one!! Thanks to you guys I’ve got one! Great flyer. Which 4 s battery are you using? I have a 1500 4s and it’s too big unless I carve out some space! When you say you can see it forever....nah! You can easily lose it in blue skies if you get distracted even for a second! I had a look out with me, and twice I had to get him to track the plane as I was losing it in certain orientations.
I have a Glacier 30c 1800mAH 4S and it fits easily. Same weight as my 2200 3S (~175g) which fits pretty snuggly and I did carve out a little space in the rear. Anyone who can get a 2200mAh 4S in that cockpit without a lot of carving is a far better battery-fitter than I am. Agreed on the losing sight. You need the contrast on the bottom of the wings. I was doing loops, high up against a grey sky on 4S today (with no stripe decals on) and the Conscendo pretty much disappeared. That is the reason I still use SAFE (to save me from my pilot error of losing orientation). Pop it into SAFE, cut the throttle, and get it lined up again. Fun plane.
watching this video convinced me this is one to add to the hangar. I was looking for a plane that I could use my non safe receiver in and this seemed to fit the bill. As I have been learning over the last year on a number of safe planes and forward programmable receivers in non eflite planes the confidence level has increased to the point of wanting to try flying full flights without safe. Do you think this plane will be a good choice for that?
You absolutely don’t need safe for this one as it’s super stable (unlike some umx planes which are very hard without gyro). Though SAFE can be very handy for any plane, if you loose track of your plane or fly it to the sun, you put ailerons full left (or right) and it will do circles. This is a big plane, but it has some very thin frontal profile, so depending on your eyesight it can be handy.
I'm getting 5+ minutes (motor-on time) at moderate throttle with an 1800mA 4S. Little longer times for a 2200mA 3S. I'm getting about 3min (motor-on time) if I am flying hard. I can extend flying time by 2X or 3X by coasting. Longest flights are motoring up (gently) to high altitude and then soaring around until I have to motor up again. Cheers.
Battery charges depends on too many factors to be accurate but just know you can get some pretty long flights, 15-30+ min. with power/glide combo. Your neck can get soar with this model! DX6 for simple planes like this Consendo but once you get the bug for more aircrafts, you will wish you had the DX8 minimum. If you want to maybe try drones/heli then you may wish you got the DX12 or even DX18 down the road.
Yeah I'm not gonna say its made solely to ride thermals. This is more of a hybrid. I personally love it, however purists may not appreciate its well roundedness. Hope this helps! 😁👍⚓😎

Love it, keep up the great vids
loved my first one lol was doing a power fly by runway when a guy just started to walk across runway as i was hitting 70mph it was hit him or ground i hit ground but have new one pre-ordered should come in 9/14
Cool plane. If I learn how to fly, this would be fun.
...'looks like the skys just go forever...' .....errrr, they kinda do :)
yup still on back order. i have had it ordered for almost 2 weeks.
What I like about powered gliders is they can fly for a very long time. Get them high in the air, cut the throttle then just chill out and fly. That's a good price on a quality e-flight plane.
I love this plane and all your video...thanks RcSaylor
Great Vlog Guys! An avid fan of your channel
Thank you very much 👍😁😎⚓
I just finally got mine in the mail!-this thing is AMAZING!-just did the maiden and WOW!-so much fun and Rock solid in the air-well over 20 min on a 4s 2200 smart pack-plenty of up elevator in safe!-this is my second plane next to the Sport Cub S2-I Hand launched that one every time because of unfavorable ground conditions so I was used to the hand launch and this one is pretty easy!-I ordered this back in early August but was on back order for a good while so I picked up the night timber x as well-they winded up coming in the same weekend lol-few more flights with the Conscendo before giving that one a go!-Thanks again for these videos-there isn’t much of a RC community around here and your vids really help me with everything from set up to confidence in watching them fly so smoothly!-I and I’m sure others appreciate the honesty as well!- 🤙🏽
you guys need to test/fly the V900 its a blast on 3s even more fun on 4s and it has safe too its under 200
Hey Abbey Get Behind the Sticks on this one EASY You will LOVE It Take Care
cool rc plane,great flying
Happy Birthday! My birthday is the 2nd! I bought one of your shirts as one of my presents, and a Trojan T-28.
Thats so awesome, thank you for the support and Happy Birthday!! 😁👍⚓😎

Eflite a-10 will be the 4th)
The Evolution is just fun, easy to fly and on 4s you can fly like a pissed off teenager.
Thank u 2 for ur time to show us and get more ppl interested I'm addicted to the hobby now. I blame ppl like u all. Thanx.
Nice plane
I'm not a big fan of spectrum but maybe a bind and fly later on. Thanks for the review you rc love birds.
Seriously.....not a fan of Spektrum? Spektrum is one of the best things that's ever happened to RC!!
Ah, sorry to hear that Chris, but still good you got signed up! Maybe leave them a message, saying you'd love to get the RcSaylor discount! We want it to apply toward existing members too (when they renew) 😁👍⚓😎
I consider AMA my advocate for the sport. They do such good lobbying and fighting for us (not even counting the insurance!), I’ll let them keep my $10 discount as a donation. For those of you who fly and are not members, I highly recommend you join up!
Landing on that hard ground? I would always try to land on grass with this glider
NICE NATE!! 🤘🤘
can u set up your own mix to help with 1 input balanced turns without upsetting SAFE - presumably the gyro sees past servo positions to the actual flying balance? - Can u try mixing in some rudder and elevator to aileron input so it will do balanced turn just with aileron stick movement? (have settings set up on a selector switch to enable immediate back to back turning comparison)
It was between this and the timber evo for second in collection, still not sure buying tomorrow 🤯
He Flys through the air with the greatest of ease, but uses a plane, and not a trapeze. He loops, and he dives, and rollovers so easy, no net below so his crashes are 💥🎆⚰. Did ya notice there was a cricket 🦗🦗talking the whole time Nate was. He was so rude.😁😁. Good flying, EXCELLant videoing Abby. ⚓⚓👍🎆👍💜👍⚓⚓.
Very nice amigo 😀👍
I have over a half dozen gliders mostly 2.5 Meter ones and I've had this one for about a month now and I actually enjoy it. A little more versatile flying style and options.
Great video by the way.
Is it great for soaring and catching thermals?
@@acepilotmonkeygaming9530 I have no issues catching thermals on warm sunny days.
@@upperechelon3456 Hi - is it overly difficult to land on 2200 3s batteries on a large grass field ? I don't have a lot of cash spare to buy 1300's or should I do the right thing ?
Cheers.
@@matt79hz
It is not difficult to land on a 3S 2200 battery. Just give some real estate to bleed off speed and you will do fine. I installed flaps on mine just to slow it down at times - particularly when I'm using 4S 2200 lipos. Its a tight fit but they do work. This will turn it into a rocket capable of doing vertical climbs beyond VLOS.
@@upperechelon3456 Wow thats awesome.. I am not actually keen on super speed on mine, more so unpowered flight and ability to zoom out of problems. So you've physically added flaps ?
Any idea where to point me to programming spoilerons or aelerons ?
These planes are sold out everywhere! Won't be available until October.
hobbyzone has them on perorder for the eta of 9/14
Cant find quality rc boats either unless willing to spend $600👎
Thanks for bringing this great allrounder rc back to the channel.Eflite concendo is also a fantastic price, what else you want .All I want now is how to fly as good as Nate who make things look easy to fly!!!!!
This is awesome! Love it! 👍😀
Seems like it's perfectly right up your alley guys! You'd love this thing!
Abby 😊 What camera do you use?
Wish the AMA would discount a years membership for 2021for current members, personally 90% of my flying has been canceled due to some Flu thing?
I can honestly say that I won't hold one year against them for the many years of service they've provided me. Walmart isn't discounting their items by 90%, and I've actually flown MORE this year Because of Covid, which obviously isn't AMAs fault. So I've gotta disagree with you there. However, I do wish they would allow EXISTING members AND new members to use the promo code for their memberships 😁👍⚓😎
Beautiful clear skies! No whispy clouds here! Holy sh#%! That was two close! Passes were awesome! Great Flying Nate! And Abby... GREAT TRUST IN NATE AND COURAGE! LOL! REALLY! HA! My Stuff should Finally be here by Tues or Wend..... Had to keep on them to ship them. So, If you order from Banggood, if your stuff does not show up after it's 25-40 day Delivery Period, keep on them and make sure they send it. My tracking finally showed they are here in the States...
Sorry to hear that you had to wait so long my friend, but at least you are going to get it soon!

Happy birthday Nate looking good have a good day I watching the video
there are so many different conscendos, i cant decide which one do get, could you guys make a comparison video comparing the different versions?
Where is the link to AMA? Coupon code? Sorry, I'm somehow not seeing them.
No worries, it was our fault! We forgot to add them. They should be there now. Thanks for the heads up! 😁👍⚓😎
thoughts on this vs the Tower Hobbies ASW 28?

I don't think AMA covers you unless your at a certified flying field. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
So sleek
WHY CANT YOU BE IN STOCK aaaanywhere 😖😖😖😖😭
Kinda early squad where you guys at stay safe all 😎😎😎😎⚓️⚓️⚓️
Any issues with using the DXs transmitter? Also, any issues with using the G2 batteries?
Super éro. Za mne to nejlepší Conscendo! Silný motor i baterie, s 3C LiPo Smart 2200 vydrží i hodinu ve vzduchu.
Huge wing? That's one wing half of my "small" glider. :o
True. But it’s not tiny tho. A 1s indoor aircraft would be tiny.
Would this plane work as a first 4ch. I have about 2 years experience with assorted 3ch planes.
thanks
IMO rudder use is optional. Let's you turn a little tighter but you can fly the Conscendo without using the rudder at all, and its rudder response is not very aggressive. So it would likley be an easy step from 3ch to 4ch for you.
Does anyone know if this guy will work with a DXs transmitter?
Sorry if someone already answered this here
It will work
Can someone recommend which transmitter I should get. Needs to work with safe mode and medium priced or better. This is my first rodeo in RC. Thanks
I ordered the T-28. Still waiting for it to ship. Bangood takes a while to get stuff out.
Just a quick question, I should be able to fly the PNP version of the conscendo with my FLySky (10 chanel) transmitter and receiver right?
I saw the v900 review and also saw the concendo review.
I like a fast and fun aircraft. Which one do you recommend? I mainly use a 4s battery.
is c4 playdough?
It's angry playdough
It don’t taste as good
I have a Carbon Cub S2 that I have been flying but I've always wanted something I can send way up there and let glide around. Im hoping I can toss the Spektrum reciever in this from the Cub as it has the SAFE stuff and flight modes so I dont immediately destroy it xD
Great video. Too much! Awesome😎
great little power glider (oh nad happy birthday nate.) you mentioned a ling for insurance I looked at all the links and you must have forgotten to add it.
Hey Andy, thanks! We just got the links added. Should be there now 😁👍⚓😎
Great video!!! The link for the transmiter shows a DX8 and DX8e But I believe you're using the DX6e on the video is it wort the extra money for the DX8? I'm new at the hobby and trying to save money. Thanks and keep the amazing videos.
Awesome 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎 video guys like it
Is this for beginners because I got the green 51dora iif I'm saying it right and haven't flew it yet because I don't want to reck it I bought it because I said a beginner could fly it but I flew a jet I have and the d51 next so I'm kinda a beginner what u think should I give Dora a fly
Thanks!!!!!!!!🛩

yeah my spektrum transmitter switches come loose also lol !!! is there a tool to tighten those switch nuts???

Looks like a real fun plane!! Lol
😉😁👍⚓😎
Fun plane.
Is it possible to fly this like a 3-channel airplane until you learn how to fly a 4-channel
In safe mode
I Don't see any discounts 4 the plane???
Hey guys, great video, do you know if I can bind this plane to Spektrum DSX? Thanks.:)
What mah 3s were you using for the first flight?
watching this video convinced me this is one to add to the hangar.
Nice
What were the winds at while you shot this video? Would 20 be too much? I live in Kansas and wind is pretty much the norm around here.
Can it carry a GoPro?☺
About how long will a battery charge last using moderate throttle, and doing some gliding? Any advantage in using a DX8 transmitter over a DX6?
Nice, thank you!
Nate, how viable a thermal glider is this? Seems like it would be a bit heavy for true thermal flying.
Yeah I'm not gonna say its made solely to ride thermals. This is more of a hybrid. I personally love it, however purists may not appreciate its well roundedness. Hope this helps! 😁👍⚓😎
@@TheRcSaylors Fair enough. Probably floats well enough considering everything that plane can do!
My longest flight so far is 1 hour 10 minutes on 2200 3S. Caught lots of thermals.
