50° and you’re cold? I’m envious. We can’t seem to break loose of the high 30°s. Spreading mulch with a tractor crew is a blast
Glad no one was hurt. I hope insurance makes them whole! Years ago I owned a service station (gas and repair). One day a woman was driving by and upon seeing smoke from under the hood of her car she promptly pulled into my station stopping her car by the pumps😮😮!!
Thankfully one of my employees saw what was unfolding and along with the smoke he spotted orange flames under the hood. He grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out before the whole neighborhood went up in flames. Like the person who parked the smoldering tractor the woman driving the car didn’t have sense enough to minimize the damage potential…
Another great video from Tim and Kristy!
The fire departments we have around here are top notch, glad to hear no one was hurt!! Great vid Tim
They put a smile on my face Tim when I saw those kids watching you can you imagine from a child’s perspective what they must’ve been thinking when they saw you with the tracker you gotta love the innocence of children and it is awesome
Thanks TTWT, for going to the Church and Spreading the Mulch for them.
Sorry about the fire, but glad no one was hurt. The kids looked excited to see you working. That makes it more fun for you too. Blessings.
I'm sorry for this sad event and glad no one was hurt.
😊😊
Even though equipment can be replaced and buildings can be repaired it's still an experience no one wants to go thru.
Earlier this week I was getting close to home when I noticed my engine light was on. I left it in the middle of the driveway while I looked it over, read the owners manual, and talked to the dealer.
Your sign story reminded me of an event from my childhood. My Dad was showing off his first ever brand new riding mower to his brother. My uncle let the clutch out and rode the mower straight up a creeper leaned up against the work bench in the garage. Only his pride was hurt.
Sorry that happened! But a great reminder to others to allow their equipment to chill down before putting it inside. This can apply to cars, mowers, tractors, any engine powered equipment!!! Thanks, Tim!
Hey Tim , as someone who has been through a house fire as a kid and pretty much lost everything ! I am truly sorry for the loss of the equipment and building . Now on to my favourite part ! Loved seeing you guys working with the tractors together ! I've been wanting a video of some tractors working for a bit now and truly love it ! Lol
God Bless Guys !
Keep up the great work !
I feel their pain! My garage caught fire last weekend and burned to the ground. My new gravely pro turn zx60 was in there as well as our 1992 John Deere 320. My wife’s 2022 ford explorer and my 2013 f150 super crew were also in the a garage. Thankfully we are fully insured. Nobody was hurt. And the fire dept saved the house.
Thanks for the community service style videos. The ultimate “win win” - you get a nice video to share on YT and your equipment gets put to good use.
We really enjoy helping the community. Wish we could get the word out more that we are available.
The new emission tractors need special attention . A lot more cleaning with air hose or leaf blower . Can’t believe how hot the exhaust gets . After mowing I’m always cleaning under the hood and around underneath . 👍
Amazingly enough the emission standards only apply to we the people...Emergency vehicles and military and even presidential cavalcade vehicles are exempt...it's all a scam
Good job guys spreading the rest of the mulch. Sorry to hear about the fire.
Tim and you guys it's really nice to do stuff for the church y'all got a good heart tanks from Gary
The most forgotten piece of equipment that is usually almost always overlooked is a decent sized dry chemical fire extinguisher strapped to your ROPS!!
Fire is always a very scary thing for sure. I am glad to hear no one was in danger or harmed! Things can be replaced, people can not. I know this comment has probably been repeated allot already. I hope they get things replaced shortly.
The curb will do just fine Tim it is anointed
Sorry to hear about the fire Tim and folks.
You must really want those volunteers to have to work with their rakes. Dumping that mulch all in one bucket dump rather than backing up as you dump to spread it out a little. 😁
Bummer! Ignorance is bliss until you burn down the shed!
Sorry to hear that. I hope you get it all replaced reasonably. God bless the church.
I believe it’s always good idea to let all equipment cool down before putting it in a building. I’ve seen birds make a nest on the exhaust manifold which if not spotted early can catch fire after running the tractor for a while. It doesn’t take much sometimes
Sometimes I must store the riding mower shortly after I finish mowing so I always open the hood once in the garage to more quickly dissipate the heat.
Off the subject again but maybe a good time of year to discuss this.
My 2021 1023 @ 120R NSL loader was due for it's 200hr service.
I'm recovering from surgery on my arm and no way was I going to be able to attempt the service myself this year.
So I took it to my dealership.
Cost me an unbelievable amount of money. But there was a positive outcome.
The service included an "inspection" where the tech discovered what they called the "loader pin" was worn. This is the 3' long silver color pipe looking device out in front of the lift arms of the loader. He said that it is a common problem that they wear on the ends where they fasten to the loader arms.
So I found this "inspection" to be a very valuable service as there was no sign of any problem operating the loader so I would have never thought to check it.
So if you haven't already, I wonder if you would please make a video discussing "inspections" for us new subcompact tractor owners. Spring is right around the corner here in NE Ohio and we'll be putting em to work soon!
Thanks
Yes, your brothers and sisters will always be so, even if you don't attend the same house anymore.
Great job, old boy. 😊
Tim, in my past experience, adding mulch to beds that are already full of mulch tends to lead to the ground level being higher than the foundation which causes water issues. I've done mold remediation on many buildings with the ground level higher than the foundation because of mulch beds and when it rained it held moisture against the wall leading to water getting inside the walls. I'd hate for them to have mold issues. Just a thought. I do like that 3 series. Very nice tractor. God bless!
It’s best not to have garden beds next to building walls.
People tend to go mulch crazy.
yeah it's actually code for ground level to be 8" below the siding at the foundation under the sill due to weep and wicking
For mulch, You really need a grapnel on the bucket you can haul 2x maybe even 3x as much.
I have a 72" litter bucket on my L4701 that stays on most of the time. Great for tossing fallen branches in then carrying down to the dump pile. I use it to move cut firewood and 16" rounds. I'm probably overloading it, but so far no welds have cracked :)
So when are you going to tell us about the six port Faster disconnect you are on the tractor? I see it there, don’t by lyin. 😂
Workin as hard as I can on it! Likely 10-12 weeks.
That is just stuff that can be replaced praise God no one was hurt
I’d buy that 3pt mower doesn’t look too bad
You might want to check your front tires air looks to be low
Hi from Terre Haute
I am so SORRY that they put that subcompact in the Garage. If only they had just left it outside. Fire prevention. I wish I could bring my Dynahoe
Down to help move mulch, my huge bucket would have moved so much. Man I wish I could volunteer for you. One thing I would do, I do this when I go in my front yard. Put a couple of 2 × 4
Down on the curb edge for front tires to drive up on before the curb. Thank you for doing this volunteer work for church, all churches need More people to step up, it is NOT just about Donating on Sunday, it is also hands on with the church.
Let’s get started good video
I am far from a landscaping expert, but it looks to me like next spring' project should be to remove the "mulch volcanos" and start fresh.
will need to strip back all that mulch and start new 1 year soon
You could use the new bucket on snow too.😊
Hay Tim, I was born down the road from there in Westfield, of course back then the hospital was in Noblesville so maybe technically born there. These days I am in Tulsa. I have no need for any kind of tractor but I like to watch.
Thanks for watching!
Volcano Mulching around trees or shrubs is a No-No!
I know that is what they say. ...but this church has been doing it for 23 years.
I’m so vary sorry😢 total loss
That made quick work of that pile
Nice single point connector on the 2038R 😉
Did you notice the number of ports on that single point?
Yes, it looked like 6 to me. Nice.
Use caution when driving over curbs. I was clearing snow with my 2038r at our church and drove over a curb and hit the auto connect drive for my 72 " mower deck and broke it. It cost me $1000 to replace the broken part.
Here in northern Wisconsin 50 degrees is t-shirt wearing weather.
What a bummer. My neighbor's Tacoma just did the same thing. He ALWAYS parks in the garage but this time he happened to leave it in the driveway. He walked out of the house because he heard explosions. Even the alloy wheels and windshield glass melted.
Wow. I wonder why it caught fire?
For selfish reasons, I would love to see tim add a 4 series to the fleet!!
Me too!
It’s okay Tim, I too have had a walk behind mower get away from me!
At least they can replace the equipment.
Great video so sad about the fire that’s such a shame I’m with Rex I love my 3r most comfortable seat I have only one better is my lazy boy recliner
You should use the Battery Tractor for this to see how good it does
Another John Deere building caught on fire. In Minnesota, it was a John Deere Dealership.
Tim, I don't think I've seen you use a broom attachment. Would be nice to see how one would have cleaned up that parking lot.
Yes!
I was working for a landscape and snow removal contractor and he rented a big heated garage for his tractors;while we were blowing snow his wife called me and said there was a fire a the garage!i went there ,waited fore the fire to be extinguished and entered the garage with the fire chief. He told me where the fire had started on the garage ceiling and i said that there was a neon ballast light there!Wlost 3 brand new tractors that were paid by the owner s insurance!
Ohhhh noooo! How awful! It's so hard in a situation like that, it'sa place with no one living there do no one would catch it... although even if you did catch it, how would you save everything? Ugh. Such a terrible situation to be in 😢
Am so sorry Mr Tim I know how that feels from firsthand
The Lord will provide. Tim is this Church off Keystone?
146th & Hazel Dell
Hi Tim,
In your videos it seems like the 2038r has more whine from the hydrostatic transmission than the 3r. Do you find the 3r to be quieter than the 1 and 2 series tractors in that regard in person too?
Sorry to see all that equipment burned up at the church. Hopefully with the insurance they can budget for some replacements. Looked like mostly green was in the barn, surely that doesn't mean that the big guy drives a Kubota?
Got that right Tim, when you said the kids waving made it worth the whole day!
mower deck looks good for the tractor. check the gear box oil.
that church should only get new mulch every 5-8 years, all that needs to be done is turn it over every year and hit it with a back pack sprayer with new dye. walmart has a battery powered backpack sprayer under the HART brand that would work very well for that. 1 person could do it all in a week end or get two and make it easier. can't recall the price but it's $1XX something
lawncarenut alyn hane has a video about redying, so does Pete GCI turf services and some others.
Why would insurance cover it when they admitted the tractor was smoking when they parked it in the garage?
Save a lot of $$. Fluff mulch that is already to deep with a Weasel or Mantis type tiller. Mulch should not be over 2-3" deep and 6"from Buildings and Tree bases.
First. Fire is always a bad thing when it happens in a place where it doesn’t belong.
🇨🇦
Tim most handicapped scooters work that way too on the controls. You let go and it engages the brakes and stops. I had a little trouble getting used to it but it is fast if you can remember to let go. I have to use one to work in the yard and garage so I am now used to it.
I don't know about how y'all do things up north but in New Mexico we use rock instead of mulch in beds like that. It's way cheaper in the long run and only needs light weeding
What does it mean to "thumbs up" this video?
Just showing support for the video and the work it takes to get them out
sorry to all at church , equipment all has potential for fire i always try to clean mine and leave doors open and check before closing up , i remember as a 25 year old my first tractor a 8N i always parked under our deck then covered when it cooled about 3 mins after parking the old wire harness starting burning in I panicked and pushed it out as it burned ended up rewiring that old tractor thank god i didnt burn down my new house i just finished
Wow a non-electric vehicle catching fire.
It's always good to have a battery disconnect switch. Never know
Don't know if somebody maybe mention it allready. I also know its a lot of money, and also your tractor ... Maybe the auction tractor could be a gift for them ? It's just a Idea.
On 3046 is that self leveling loader?
No. There is no MSL for 3R
Hi Tim, I'm sorry to hear about the fire definitely a sad event!
In the video I noticed the John Deere Gator, I would be interested in the brush guard and side fender protectors if these are available or could get me in touch with point of contact.
God bless

Some people just have a level of stupid that is hard to comprehend. I had a neighbor once who used a propane torch under his mobile home to find a natural gas leak he was smelling. He found the leak alright. Thankfully, the fireball was small and didn’t cause him or his home significant damage. You can’t make this stuff up! 😂
Hello. I'm interested in the loader and all loader to frame mounts.
Tim at tractortimewithtim dot com
You should tell them to take off the old mulch around the trees first before adding the new, if you don't do that you will eventually kill the tree. I would also get rid of the excess mulch around the building, it should not come up to or cover the brick but be about 8" below where the brick starts on the foundation wall.
I have a friend that is interested in the loader of that tractor. If it's able to be bought
Tim at tractortimewithtim dot com
What a shame…the beginning of your title had me worried that your barn burnt down, sure glad no one was hurt.
Junk Deere lesson learnt ,,,!
About a year or so ago seen a couple burnt up 2 cylinder John Deere’s. Forgot what caused the fire but it sure destroyed a few restored A John Deere’s and a 60.
Tim, where are you at. I might be interested in Folding ROPS . I have a JD 4200 HST with standard ROPS, and I need a folding one.
Tim at tractortimewithtim dot com
Everyone makes sure your insurance company will cover your equipment..
My ins. company did not
We have lots of videos on this topic.
😥🙏🙏👴🐕🚜
I'm interested in bburnt John Deere equipment and implements
Tim at tractortimewithtim dot com. …email me.
Having gone through a house fire myself my prayers go out to these folks. Hopefully they have replacement cost coverage on their policy. If so, it will pay the depreciated amount then once they purchase a new like model they get the rest. So hopefully they will get a new tractor out of it. Still a tedious process but God is good and things will work out the way they are supposed to.
If the tractor is smoking you get off and see why! There is some questions need to be asked why would you not see why they didn’t look and see why it was smoking.
Relax. It isn’t the worst mistake that has ever been made.
Typical John Deere always catching on fire. We had a 9r 640. Burn down last yr in our field while baling hay it went into a region the pipe underneath got so damn hot it caught the windrow on fire and burn the tractor down. you got to love the EPA..
I also own a tractor that goes into 'regen' or continues to beep until you allow it to rev up to an insane rpm then the heat it's produces from extra diesel injetecd into last cylinder (probably washing it out) while wasting fuel is spose to be environmentally friendly. Dealer says don't idle it for less regens . I say tell Al Gore to mind his business
ya. Its a joke.. i would love too know what tree hugger. Though it would be to put this crap on diesel engine's an burn more fuel an tons of down time. It just cost so much more to operate . I make our diesel's go on a epa diet. If you know what I mean..Hahahahhaha
What a shame in regards to the fire.
To bad about the fire. A lot of stuff ruined for sure.
I don't understand why a tractor was put back in the garage while it was smoking. I leave everything out to cool to the point where the exhaust is cool enough to touch after they have been running in case something falls on them like a cloth or piece of wood and comes in to contact with a hot component, if it starts smoking I would try and move it somewhere safe (away from anything that could burn) and shut it down.
Yes of course. Wasn’t the brightest move. It happens…especially with ‘city based’ volunteers.
“Greek Fire”
That’s the only way you could save face with that little play tractor.
I imagine your ballast on that one tractor was as high as it was for loading on the trailer. I doubt it is fully filling it's purpose for roll-over protection carried so high. I don't think you were in grave danger in that situation, but a casual observer should be careful not to do this on more hilly terrain.
"They" drove a smoking tractor into a garage??? 🤔🙄🙄
We had a tractor fire a few years ago, I have a guy that will buy that and possibly the other pieces. He will send up trailers to take them away.
Give me a call.
Tim at tractortimewithtim dot com
Ton of equipment for a “non profit”
What are you saying?
This church chooses to have volunteers mow the 20 acre yard.
Why aren't you using the electric tractor?
Nobody edged along the concrete? Gonna be a mess. Sorry. Pet peeve.
Sorry bout the event. Did you say they use volunteers? if so, there is the answer. I'm surprised insurance will cover it if the machine was driven in whilst smoking. (Due diligence and proof of training)
They have a specific list of trained tractor operators.
Yes, serious mistake, but that is what insurance is for…mistakes.
@@TractorTimewithTim In my experience of insurance companys if it is known that someone was negligent, the company will go after that someone.
Why not cover the ground areas with ground cover plants like periwinkle (myrtle) or pachysandra or some others. No mulching, no mowing, no maintenance, no money and no tractors needed! Some crowd out grass better than others. Some, like lily of the valley smell better unless you buy the no scent varieties used for weddings. Donate the money spent on the mulch to programs for the poor.
Is there a link or address where viewers can send a donation? If a fraction of your subscribers each sent just a dollar or two.... or $5, $10, or $20, we could make up what insurance won't cover to help replace the tractor.
Bad operator should make up the difference since they burned down the garage.
