Shanghai Noon is a 2000s Wild West Kung Fu film staring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, centering around Chan's characters attempting to rescue a Princess that was taken to the US, with Wilson helping him on his quest, sharing each others cultures and forming a strong bond with each other. It's a pretty unique film as far as genres go, being a weird blend of wild west cowboy film, philosophical eastern kung fu film and a comedy, giving you a really unique experience

I literally said, "that may be the west but here is where the sun rises" the other day. This movie was such a joy.
Honestly it's such an underappreciated film
Oh man this movie was one of my favorites growing up, ever since I loved genre blending movies
It's definitely underappreciated
Shanghai knights next?
I don't know, I think the movie is a big step down from the first
Oh cool! A collab with another content creator I know. Gonna be a good video
Darkhour was tremendous help making this video more interesting
I always wondered if this movie was inspired by an old Martial arts/Western called The Stranger and the gunfighter, starring Lee Van Cleef?
Interesting, will do some research into this
@@therealloomar What made me believe so, is that the two films are not only similar in premise, but one of the villains is named Van Cleef.
Apparently you haven't watch Jet Li's "Once Upon a Time in China and America" (which came out before Shanghai Noon) or "Millionaire Express" botj of which are also Kung Fu western with some comedy and has better fight scenes. Shanghai Noon lifted off a lot of stuff from Once Upon A Time in China and America.
I haven't watched it, no. Will try and check it out
@@therealloomar you won't be disappointed with both films. 👍
@@therealloomar also One Upon a Time in China and America is the sixth movie of Jet Li's Once Upon A Time in China franchise. You might want to watch at least the first three before jumping into the sixth one.
Im waiting for months now to watch this movie on a streaming plattform, but no no.
Yeah someone needs to pull their finger out and get that sorted. It's such a good film to stream and it's so old it can't cost that much for the rights
Something cannot be “one of the most unique.” ‘Unique’ means ‘one of a kind’ or ‘singular’. It’s either a unique movie, or it’s not.
And, it’s quite literally not unique as there was a sequel.
1) There are lots of movies that, due to different genres/tones/stories/settings, are unique
2) The sequel wasn't a western, so it's not a Kung Fu western like the original
