Bedroom producers just got replaced, but live musicians will thrive at every level. As for the music industry, you can't copyright AI music, so anyone who wants to cover it can do so without fear, so it might make a new age of AI written standards that everyone knows because of popularity
People who play music with dreams of stardom should probably stop... but people who wanna play live should NOT stop, and people who make music just for the joy of making music will never stop, can't stop, won't stop.
I do think the same
Why can't someone copyright AI generated music? I totally see a company synthesizing a huge library of sound alike and on trend music to undercut artists for sync licensing, which is where the big bucks are. The AI will be faster and cheaper for them than a roster of human talent for any publisher. They don't even need to negotiate a contract with the AI. Where is the obstacle?
I think the copyright issue will eventually change. Current policy is based on the idea that you just click a button and that’s it. But the newer generators allow a lot of interaction and editing and not just one prompt. As time goes on and more interactive features come about it will be clear that the human portion can actually be just as involved in the result as current traditional composition. Also, they aren’t considering what happens to copyrighted music when there’s a ton of free unprotected music that is just as good. I’m confident this is temporary.
Who or what says an entity can’t copyright a recording or publish a work that it’s produced by any means including by AI?

This video is actually a good example of where AI is and why its not threatening anyone's jobs yet. Bland AI written content by an overly obvious AI voice over, its amazing, great and not human and you can feel the lack of humanity in it.

Having written, recorded, and produced with in my own studio for many years; this confirms what I always feared. Namely, the detail and nuance of each individual writer and performer was never actually heard or appreciated by most. Instead, a low-resolution facsimile is all most ever heard or wanted. Like most human interactions, the banal and basic will suffice, pointed out in all its obscenity by the title you chose for the video. Enjoy the momentary rapture until AI comes for you and does your channel "good enough" to replace you.
So because your industry is being largely affected by AI, you are now conflating a person making videos about these new products with them being responsible? Not to mention wishing ill-will on them as well? Maybe your songs are just dogshit.
@@arcalypse1101I didn’t say you are responsible, I merely pointed out the fact that this will also happen to you. You conflated what I consider a prescient comment to wishing Ill will, which I don’t. In fact, I’m glad you can make videos about emerging technology and hopefully make a living at it.
Moreover, I was making the point that the content generated by AI isn’t actually song-writing and that’s it’s sad that most people don’t know that or care.
I don't want to take away from comment initial comment and point, but do you realise this video was AI generated, the script, and the female voice. I bet all the creator did was mindlessly stitch all those piece together.
It might force people to confront the mind numbing banality of musical blandness, and hopefully reach for something better.
Even before A.I. this was true. It's a harsh reality. The interesting thing A.I. is teaching us as a people is that we're not as amazing as we think we are. It took me 2 decades to learn the value of efficiency vs ego as an artist, and what matters in life, for me personally, and re-evaluate art in general. Welcome to the crossroads
One thing I’ve learned about all these AI generators is that it’s generally a bad idea to claim one thing “kills” another. People have different tastes and preferences and I think this new generator is pretty weak compared to Udio. I’m not the only person with that opinion. These demos are going in and out of tune and have several clashes between notes and chords.
And this isn’t just with music generators but with all types of AI. Just because a reviewer likes something, that doesn’t mean it “kills eveything else. And of course, ElevenLabs has an affiliate program, so there’s that as I’m seeing a lot of these videos all turning up at the aame time and saying this kills Ufio and Suno when it really doesn’t.

Interesting how bad the trumpet solo was. It sounded like someone who could play trumpet but can’t understand music. It’s good at sound but bad at songwriting. Also interesting that it does a great job at really mediocre pop music. So much to think about
This comment perfectly sums up the state of AI music generation. It seems likely it will never progress beyond awkward daydream stitching together of formless musical ideas, just with convincing sounding production. Hopefully it won’t anyway.
Sounds like the most generic radio music... good for making money i guess
