Gravemakers and Gunslingers, and Delirium Trigger are probably my favorite drop d coheed songs. Delirium Trigger has been a huge learning experience for my guitar playing
Coheed riffs have been a life saver while teaching myself guitar. I started with an acoustic so i learned mother superior, lucky stars, and the reaping as early as i could and those helped me get comfortable going up and down the neck a lot. the first full song i learned on electric was claudio's part in The Hound of blood and rank. really nice video, you teaching approach is clear and accessible
Mother superior is a really awesome riff. I think my favorite acoustic riff of theirs is Pearl of the stars. That and Iro bot taught me how to finger pick lol
Im really glad you included Junesong, I was actually gonna comment that Junesong would've been great for the list if you didn't include it. Its such a simple yet bouncy and catchy riff. Its also probably my favorite riff off of Second Stage besides maybe Everything Evil, but I cant play that riff to save my life.
I usually let the first 1:30 of Junesong play, and then start it over because it's such a catchy riff and melody. Everything Evil is weird to get the hang of but once you get it you'll always have it
Just got my sg back after having it fixed. I've been playing on a strat I had laying around for the past month or so. I have to get used to the neck all over again. X_X
I think in this video I was using my helix. But my helix patch is my guitar into an overdrive in front of a marshall plexi style amp. I use two different mics and blend them, an Sm57 and a sennheiser 421. Check out this video below, I basically replicated this tone but in the helix: ua-cam.com/video/sm8nfb5ywR4/v-deo.html
You know what's a great coheed song that isn't by coheed? Spiderwebs by no doubt. It's like a second stage/in keeping secrets riffage but then has horns and that kind of poppy type sing along stuff during the chorus and some horns off of afterman and later things Also they should make random reality shift into an actual song instead of just a demo off afterman deluxe cause it's fing awesome. That's all I got for now
They should, that demo is amazing and would love to hear where it would go as a full song. And I’ll have to check that no doubt tune out! Never really got into them but if they have some early Coheed riffage count me in
@NickPerezMusic oh no I'm not a big fan of em... it's just the one song that surprised me cause it's so fricken close plus the whole key network and and being in a web thing, etc. I tend to lean more Melo death and prog than Ska and pop punk but I do love me some coheed that's for sure. Plus I just know a lot of music at this point it's like the soup of life or something

Drummer picking up guitar and you're an awesome teacher!
Thanks dude, always wanted to play drums lol
Awesome man, loved this. Been playing for about a year and your ghost vids and now this on coheed are really helpful
Glad to hear dude!
Dude, your roshambo song is pretty decent, it's got a hint of that late 80s-early 90s sprinkled in there.
Good job 👏
Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed it. More on the way!
Coheed is one of my favorite bands. Definitely gonna check out your music 👍🏽
Awesome! Thank you!

Yea it's a little different, but thankfully they're both pretty slim necks. Happy to hear you got your sg back!
TEACH ME EVERYTHING

What sort of pedals/effects are you using to achieve this tone?

@@NickPerezMusic thank you! Getting back into guitar after a long hiatus. Your videos are invaluable.
Why isn’t Fly in Apple Music??? 😭
In the process of figuring that out! On my artist page it says it’s there but it’s not…🙃🙃🙃
