  • The challenges presented by the climate crisis, the costly and difficult global energy transition and the impact of geopolitical tensions, are all part of the discussion at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered keynote remarks at the event which is hosting roughly 17 hundred delegates from all over the world.
CNA's Olivia Siong and Tan Si Hui report from the Chinese city of Dalian.

I like the idea of "Annual meeting of the new champions" instead of those old grumpy and jealous "old champions". Leave the hate behind, work together and embrace the future for the good of all mankind. Only a fool tries to hang on to the pride, instead of hard work and the willingness to grow together.

Dalian is a very beautiful coastal and garden city in China, ranking second only to Singapore in the Asian Garden City Rankings.

China should concentrate on BRICS+ countries instead. West can decide for themselves.

As of 2022, China 🇨🇳 was by far the world's largest *coal* consumer with 55% of energy use, an increase of 2% of the total energy from the year before.
So China is accelerating the use of coal despite it having signed the Paris agreement.
