Oh my gosh you are a vision of the 50's. I grew up in the 50's and your house brings back such awesome memories. I tell ya if I was young right now I'd have the same obsession as you two :-) That refrigerator is a true beauty and the stove a treasure. Thanks for the tour , Loved it !!!
What a completely gorgeous home , darling woman you really do have spectacular style . And that range is the ultimate in 1950's dreams. As you walked us through your home I did wonder why I don't see a pair of the ultimate 50's chic (( Syroco wall sconces )) and fail me not , you have them either side of your bed ... Thank you so so much for taking the time to make this video for Joe public to see . Kind regards from England
I know it's been 4 year's but it all depends what I was wearing in the 1980's I'm still wearing pretty much the same style in 2019 sweat shirt dark blue jeans convers tennie shoes or leather brown boots
love your retro home in the '50's theme. i was born in 1955 and remember the furniture, appliances , decor. pink bathroom fixtures, etc.y'all have done a good job on this. i like retro '50's and buy these items when i find them and use them.i want to have a retro '50's home like yours.love that era of time and have a elephant's memory of that time having grown up in it. also, you are a beautiful lady in retro '50's style.your husband is a fortunate man. i would like to see more retro videos of yours.noticed the hollywood bed in your video update.my parents had one like that.again, i loved your videos. brings back childhood memories.
You guys are awesome. I was born in the late 60s, but my parents were 50s generation. In the last year, I have found so many things that belonged to my parents. I have their vintage GE coffee pots, toaster over and kitchen mixers. I have painted. I also have their Starburst clock and mirrors along with pole lamps. Recently I bought a 58 Farilane. two tone blue white. I love it. Enjoy your vintage life, I can't get enough of it.
Beautifully done. Especially the O'Keefe and Merritt gas stove, the period teal refrigerator, and the pink bathroom. The '50s were a wonderful time in America, and you have truly captured them.
This is so great! I know you guys have to give up some things to really go 50s, like closet space, and I admire your commitment. That refrigerator is stunningly beautiful. I guess it's a little dark inside since it's turquoise, but who cares? I would probably have a huge electric bill keeping the door open to admire the beauty, haha. My dream house has always been the little cottage houses of the 40s and 50s. It looks like I probably won't ever get to live in one now and that does make me sad. So, if I were to tell younger people anything I would tell them to be like this young couple. Live your dream and your passion if possible. You don't have to keep it up forever and what fun and satisfying memories you will have!
Really cool! The kitchen reminds me of the kitchen I use to do dishes in when I was young. In the basement there was a roll around dishwasher from the late 50s but it was never put upstairs because "i " was the dishwasher lol
Of COURSE people gotta comment on what isn't vintage. JFC just because someone likes collecting things from a certain era doesn't mean they have (or want) EVERYTHING in their house from that time.
+MrsMoonJelly All you'd need to to is buy an external Freeview box. I've seen a Bush TV22 model TV in the UK work fine with a freeview box and an RF adapter connected into it.
It's cool to see two young people who love the past.... I'm not a big fan of the 50's but it's the past none the less!!! Amazing, keep up the good work of keeping the past alive! 👍🏻😃
OMG you two are a breath of fresh air, You both look fabulous and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would kill for a stove and fridge like those. Live your life to the fullest and enjoy what you love no matter what anyone says :-)
Oh my god. This is honestly the most amazing house in the whole world! Ughhh I wish they would have had more than just one episode of Wives With Beehives, it was an amazing show!
You have done a really beautiful job on you house. Love all the accessories! I grew up in the 50's, and it's so nice to see all the knick knacks as well as the furniture - love the kitchen sink, too. To think that people get into older homes, and actually destroy those pieces, which were so well made, compared to the cheap junk of today. You are a beautiful young girl, and I admire what you & your fiancé have been able to accomplish. You have done an amazing job of collecting and coordinating, and would have made a wonderful house wife in the 50's! Enjoy your dream & God bless!
Wowww!!! I am overwhelmingly impressed with the vintage collections. Gorgeous home and you look fantastic. I wishes you both much happiness. Although I grew up the 80's I always felt I was born in the wrong era, I am a BIG Fan of the 50's. Love the dress, the style, everything about it. For me, it started when I was watching Elvis films "Loving You, Jailhouse Rock, follow by James Dean East of Eden, and Rebel without a Cause, from then on I knew I was hooked in the Fabulous 50's!
AWESOME job, Dollie! Love all your vintage stuff and you've done a great job making it a living environment. Also it was cute as heck you called the tub the stove. You did a very nice job of presentation!
Hi Dollie - I've seen quite a few people that have setup a 50s room... furniture, tv, etc.. and those look cool. But never saw someone actually turn into a whole 50s house. I'm glad I ran into your channel, I like it! Thanks! -- Atco
great life what good is life if not for hard work ..keep up the fun,, life goes fast and making it cool is great thanks for showing its an inspiration..
I just loved every think In your home it took me back to my childhood my mother's house was just like yours and I must say mine is has well I just love every think vintage I love going around the charity shops for things that are vintage and I must admit iv got pretty good at it Carol in England happy vintage shopping
Awesome house! I'm slowly trying to replace all my ikea junk with antiques. My style is more 20's/30's/40's. Living in a beige stucco tract house is cramping my style.
I watched this video once quite awhile back. I'm watching it again and I have to say that your house and your style are stunning. I love it so much! I'm a vintage collector myself and also dress and style that way as much as possible. But this would be my ultimate goal. I was definitely born in the wrong time!
Your home looks like a museum. This is so amazing. Things were made so much better than. Now everything you buy breaks in a year . Back in the days I mean 80s and 90s light bulbs use to last forever. Now nothing last. I love your home and clothes.
Just found you today and it makes me so happy that you have your vintage collection obsession! You have a beautiful home (even the updated version)! So glad I am not alone loving the older model homes (and accessories)
I saw your updated video, prior to this one but I must say I LOVE EVERYTHNG IN YOUR HOUSE, AND I LOVE YOUR CLOTHES AND HAIRSTYLE WHICH IS MORE 1940'S. Keep on making more videos, I will feature my apartment soon, but yours is truly amazing.
I am 52. My parents were married in 1955. Looking at older photos, they look like both of you. I am in the scene too. My whole home is done in vintage. I drive a 58 Ford Fairlane. God Bless and Good Luck!
This is what lifestyle should really be about - choosing your own style and creating your own environment instead of conforming to current trends just because advertisers suggest you should. You are inspirational. How lovely that you found each other.
I'm also in love with this stuff! If I had to choose between this time and 50's, I'd choose the 50's believe it or not. But all I own is a typewriter, rotary phone, and a one step Polaroid camera. In the house I'm currently living in, it still has the shelf where you would put the phone with the phone book. Unfortunately my grandma took the land or home line out. But Great Video! I love your home!
Thank so much! The tubes in this fridge are actually located on the ceiling of the fridge portion, so we can't scrape those but the freezer is just a box portion that we can scrape. It would be funny to find those Swanson dinners in the metal trays. We do have vintage TV trays though! And we have the Honeymooners on DVD, great show! Thanks for watching! XOXO
I have a house built in 1956, but it’s been super modernized :(. It’s still beautiful though. I love this, thank you! Also why don’t we have lazy Susan fridges today??? Genius
What nice people you are. I'd love having you for neighbors. The refrigerator is great, it's a good example compared to the many thoughtlessly made products today. I grew up with Youngstown cabinets, and my Mother kept them maintained with Jubilee appliance wax. I'm especially impressed with your effort to use historically accurate paints, as this provided an excellent foundation for the décor. The corner windows in the pink room are a wonderful design element of the era. Thank you for making this video, I enjoyed it.
In the 50s and before queen beds were not on demand. Reason was couples had two twin beds and slept separate keeping married longer. Some pushed the twins together and theyd have separate sheets and blankets. Smarter living. No one got cold. Or claustrophobia. Husband happy to go to work and to come home. Different time. This is perfect living to me. My grandparents still do this and been married all my life and still in love. The fridge makes sense too. Shelf comes out and push foot lever. They called the freezer ice boxes then and yes they always formed ice you had to clean but not big deal. You could use it for keeping bottles cold outside in a bucket in summer.
love the video, thank you, I live the Vintage Lifestyle here in England UK so understand the obsession, just wish i could find a lady like you dolly here in UK
RE; rerfrigerator; standard practice was to defrost once a week or so, by shutting off the fridge. Be careful scraping the freezer, as there are exposed tubes that carry the refrigerant. Great home! It makes me feel like I've time traveled and I'm about 5 again ( I'm 57). We had that exact same sofa! Shame abuot the Ford, but again, great home! Now you just need some real Swanson Dinners in the metal trays they used to come in, and the Honeymooners on the tube!
I don't know how you can stand the refrigerator! :D I used to have one like and I had nightmares with that freezer! LOL Keep uploading videos! Best regards from Chile!
I think I saw some Star Glow china? My obsession is having to tell people what I paid for each thing.... yes I paid one dollar for a set of Star Glow at an auction. Some was unused and she had everything wrapped in the original plastic sleeves. Crazy. It is packed and my daily set is Noritake Compass.... ok, it was $5.00 at an auction. That fridge is amazing. That is the cat's meow! Wow.
Dollie your house is amazing!!!!!! i love vintage style..i collect vintage barbies and vintage squicky toys....i see two vintage repros i the last room :D
very cool! Always of Love Hayward wakefield's work and the blonde would that brought light into a dark room. I would say that you should take artistic license and maybe create your own 19 fifties queen size bed so that way you could go with the aesthetic of your house.
I love the video. Your house is adorable. There was a house near us that I wanted to buy so badly. It was built in the 50's and had only one owner. We couldn't buy it, though, because it was in a different school district. :/

Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you!!! We do like our new TV (as the vintage one doesn't work), our laptop, video camera, cellphones... Etc
+MrsMoonJelly All you'd need to to is buy an external Freeview box. I've seen a Bush TV22 model TV in the UK work fine with a freeview box and an RF adapter connected into it.

love love LOVE the whole 50's theme, it truly is the last decade of class :O)
I love everything in your home! 😍 Why don't we have refrigerators with lazy susans anymore? It looks so convenient to me!!
you loose shelf space because the shelf has to be circular to rotate in the fridge. This design was not very popular.
Hi Dollie - I've seen quite a few people that have setup a 50s room... furniture, tv, etc.. and those look cool. But never saw someone actually turn into a whole 50s house. I'm glad I ran into your channel, I like it! Thanks! -- Atco

very cool! Always of Love Hayward wakefield's work and the blonde would that brought light into a dark room. I would say that you should take artistic license and maybe create your own 19 fifties queen size bed so that way you could go with the aesthetic of your house.
I love it!
I love the video. Your house is adorable. There was a house near us that I wanted to buy so badly. It was built in the 50's and had only one owner. We couldn't buy it, though, because it was in a different school district. :/
Your house is so beautiful.
i love your house and appreciation for the 50's! do you have any cool websites you get idea's from or videos or anything to give me some idea's that you can share with us? thanks!

You would love to see in there, he has some cool stuff!
A former student of mine had on facebook that if nobody picked up her metal kitchen cabinet with sink/washboard that day, she was sending it to scrap. I pointed out the value and others showed interest. I hope someone picked it up. Sadly, it was probably replaced with a Home Depot special.
Love the style you look amazing
