A true inspiration. I love watching your videos. Every time I watch your videos it makes me work harder to get into nursing school. The advice really helps.
Hey Mr. Brown can you make a video about your interview experience when you got hired in the ER. For example, did they ask you any in-depth questions or did they give you any situations to play out while being interviewed? Thanks.
Aye Kaynen in regards to your Suunto Spartan smartwatch: can u listen to music on it w/Bluetooth headphones, does it sync to your smartphone, & can it be used to replace your phone/credit card in order to make essential transactions like w/Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay, etc.? If u actually wanted to, are u able to download music app(s), & store a huge music playlist on your Suunto smartwatch?....🤔🤔🤔😳😳😳
I don't know any nurse who isn't a fan of pockets. Aha. Having a separate pulse ox. is so smart. Also, your hospital has so many codes. I don't think I've ever seen that many on a badge.
I LOVE my pockets. Do you know I have a 'clean' pocket and a 'dirty' pocket. Lol. Left pocket all things nursey.....Pulse ox....pens....pt report sheet drug keys etc. Right pocket all things personal, as in gum, phone, hand cream etc. They never ever mix. Ha
The only reason(s) I’m asking u about your smartwatch is because there’s a countless number of new smartwatches that are coming out all the time so finding one that does a bit of everything that’s worth the cost is a challenge. Plus music is therapeutic for me especially when working out & it’s minimizes stress significantly....
Hey kaynen I am just about to finish my first semester of nursing school! I carry the vertex bags! Take a look at them if your ever looking to carry a different bag!
Since it's not calibrated by the hospital, it's not good to be completely dependent on it. I carry one myself during my nursing shifts and only take it out as a last resort option if I don't have any access to one. If the Joint Commission catches you using one of those things, you will be fined.
I use it to keep tract of my patient on the way up to the floor. I do not use it to chart my vitals while in the ER. Patients do not go up to the floor with their oxygen saturation being monitored. My pulse ox on their finger going up is better than no pulse on at all.
so...how many time's do ya brush your teeth at work? I've been checking out the channel, very cool. I saw a vid saying you were going to become a PA. how long have you been a rn? also, how hard is it for you personally to deal with the grosser stuff in nursing? nursing is something I've thought about. I'm a dude,by the way. I've talked to my fnp about it and why he chose it and what not. I've always thought about dentistry, but feel that nursing would be more interesting.
I am a dude too, I am in pre-nursing right now but I will tell you what helped me decide choosing nursing. I became an EMT which really helped me decide that nursing and medicine in general was a good path for me. During EMT school you get to go on clinical and see how nurses work in the ER! A very valuable experience! If you are still in high school, I strongly recommend taking an EMT course if you are able to, since it might be a whole lot cheaper because you are in high school! I also recommend taking AP classes too so you can be ahead in college or college classes during high school or in the summer, get those pre-reqs out of the way. Look around for a local community college near by! If you can't do EMT which is totally fine, try and volunteer at a hospital! You might just be changing beds, cleaning, and resupplying shelves but hey, you get to see some pretty cool stuff! Getting experience is really helpful, if you can't just try to talk to people in the field, but there is a huge difference between education and talking to actually being there. Hope this helped a little.
thanks man. I've been out of HS for a bit-(I'm 19); just kinda been floating around. I wanted to be a Marine medic, however,I can't enlist due to a thyroid disease,so I thought hey! nursing seem's pretty cool and interesting. I've thought about a career in business-accounting and engineering, but the more I think about it,the less I can see myself in those roles. like I said,I've never wanted to be a "doctor" in the sense of an md/physician. just nursing and dentistry. my main concern with dent is the length of school.
Dorsey m Nursing is great cause you have a lot of options as to what kind of work you can do. Emergency room, neuro, surgery, anesthesia, etc. Plus you could get additional schooling to become a nurse practitioner or even go into management.
Very true, there are many options available after you get your BSN! You can be a flight medic for a private company or for the Air Force one day! So you can still serve if you really wanted to, and a nurse will perform higher level skills too!
Thanks for your videos brother you are inspiring and I appreciate you. I am young in my journey but have a lot of passion! Thanks for fueling my fire 🔥
I will definitely be buying some cargo pants like that. It’s time nurses step up the fashion game, at least for men. I’m tall like you, and those other scrubs are like dresses dude...
Brendan Downes I was given this “Ego Rock” by a mentor of mine on the police department. He told me that I should keep this ego in my pocket everywhere I go to remind myself that my ego should never get bigger than this rock. Keeps you humble.
Man, I cannot get over how fast your whole Nursing sojourn passed by (pre-Nursing, Nursing Student, now working Nurse)!😁
Omar Abdul-Malik DHEd, MPAS, PA-C Hahah thanks Dr. Omar:)

AlexEKL Wow, thank you so much!!☺️
Just found out I passed my NCLEX! It was a long road but it worked out nicely. Brand new year, brand new me!
Edgar Esquivel congratulations!!!
This is soooooo cool, I’m not going for nursing but I still like to watch stuff like this for some reason
Those 5.11’s are what I wear to work as an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force! glad I can still use them as a nurse!
What is an ego Rock man? Where did you get your separate pulse ox that's very smart
By far the coolest equipment I’ve seen a nurse wear/carry hahah definitely will be purchasing a pair of those bdu pants!
Going into my last semester of nursing school! Love the content man 👍
Would you please able to make a video about the transition of LPN to RN and TO BSN

A lot of nurses say that "nurses eat their young", would you say that is true and have you experience bullying while being new?
Logan I would say this is definitely true! Thankfully I have yet to experience it.
Can u give a link
