Hia mate, I hope you enjoyed your day. I think I've fished near/around there, too. We used silver lures and did quite well. We caught a lot of mackerel, Pollock, and Wrasse, and I caught a Garfish. My dad fished on the bottom and caught Dogfish and Eels. You really need to respect the sun on days like you've fished. Although a pain, suncream is a must, vital! Thank you for your film. Ian.
Good video ... lil tip if u dont mind ...if you are losing fish to weeds and snags always play the fish with the rod as high as possible just to stop them getting there heads down into the snags
I can't understand why more fisherman aren't appalled at the way the the fish are handled on here. Anyone who knows about mackerel fishing also knows not to handle them like you were before returning. Very poor reflection on the sport.
The literature is extremely torn on whether handling mackerel has any effect on their life span. if releasing them, I won't touch the skin, but I will if keeping them. With regards to removing the hook, I will use a priest/neck snap technique before removing it.
Moment you grabbed that mackerel I went..oh noooo scales everywhere lol..but it best to handle mackerel by the gill or lip as they use their scales to balance their heat levels..can’t beat a good mackerel fight though
that's some awesome fishing mate, being on the east coast its annoying as the shore fishing is terrible, no rocks just sand. Wish we had rocks to cast off.
Hi DB I’ve got massive request I’ve got weekend with my lad and he’s desperate to try sea fishing with our lure rods thinking north wales can your suggest any decent marks much appreciated
I caught my first pollok on a lure last week. Lovely fish and returned it. Mackeral swipe at insane speeds so it's inevitable upto I'd say 40% can be foul hooked in some way at times unless you use really small hooks. If they're bleeding heavily or foul hooked through eye or torn allot i'll despatch quick. Deffo use a cold damp flannel or something to pickup the mackeral if returning though. Where I target mackeral we have upto 8 seels that hang around as they're not fast enough to catch mackeral. But it's something else having 5 or 6 mackies on feather setups and a seel or two chasing them. Biggest test your rod/reels drag can take let alone your arm aching badly.
@@leafysfishing not freshwater type spinners they're too light. Pointless really unless it's super calm and they're about 30g weight. Simple shads, metal wedges, spoons are best
Do some lure review videos. They are really enjoyable to watch and it’s useful to see you use the lures before I/ others buy the lures for ourselves 😀 also great vids keep it up
Hi just come back from a weeks fishing on llyn peninsula.. Tried to find this mark with no luck. Can you tell me if its to left or right of porth meudwy.. Thanks
I go to the place you are fishing all the time but i go to the left to a slope and you can catch around 3 makrel at a time fishing on the feathers you should try it. Great vid

Most never do for sea fishing, the fish are much more robust than course fish and half the time they will be eaten anyways. He does drop quite a few though!!

Great video as always, I fished for Mackerel many years ago, 100 plus days were common, power way beyond there size.
Cracking day for it, great video. Keep em coming.
Some decent catch mate, nice video.
Tight lines 👍🏼
Very enjoyable video. Just wondering, where on the Llyn are you? I live near there and would love to do some lure fishing off the rocks.
Aberdaron rocks to the right of headland.

People like you is why the sport is dying in the UK there just fish

The fish went back alive what's ya problem.. you thinking he would rather have been killed than returned to the sea? I'm confused
I'm going to Devon a week Friday.. thinking of taking my light lure set up 🤷♂️
good video hopefully you can do some more spinner fishing on the river for brownies in the future
Great vid! Any clues to which part of the peninsula you were for this one?

Are spinners any good for sea fish?

@@ENGDyna so 25g to 30g shads ? Jig heads work? I'll get some bigger heavier Spoons.. think heaviest spinners iv got are 8g lol
@@leafysfishing pretty much yeah. Heavier if deep fishing from a boat usually

Tip if you have a pollock on is slack off and leave it a few minutes and let it swim back out then bring it in fast! Keep the rod up high
Hello ,I would like to ask you where you go fishing in Anglesey ? ....thank you
What rod is the red and black u are using with the jig...
Love ur channel but u serously need to use a fish matt. The amount of fish u drop is mad always unhook fish on mattts
Most never do for sea fishing, the fish are much more robust than course fish and half the time they will be eaten anyways. He does drop quite a few though!!
Hey, what's the rod you're using the spoon on bud?
What cw are these rods?
Is that the same tackle youd use after pike?
similar, although you would certainly want to use a wire trace for pike.
where is this place in llyn peninsula
What size is the rod
Congratulations beautiful Video of great success! Hug and good *Fishing!* 👍🎣🐠🐟
Always wrasse around the rocks
Good sized mackerel, I'd have eaten them rather than fished them with a treble for fun.
I try not to throw the fish on the floor
Nice video, I fished from the kayak on the Llyn a few weeks back. Check out the video on my channel 😁
First class fish care ........not
Throwin them bk a bit close to the rocks
You need to improve your fish management skills
