Right now her and I are taking a break from talking after I shared how I felt about her and this song is helping me deal with those emotions. Before her I wanted to be alone. I was tired of the hypocrisy within groups of people. I went to this church where I told myself I wasn’t going to talk to girls and focus on the sermons. I remember seeing her in a crowd of people the 2nd day I went. I remember exactly where she was standing. She was standing about 30ft in front of me talking to someone. It’s like time slowed down and her eyes struck me and captivated my attention. As blurred people walked between her and my gaze I couldn’t help but stare. I broke my concentration and told myself I wasn’t going to talk to her because that’s not why I came. A few weeks later I was put in a group chat and Lauren (her name) was also in there. I attended a gathering at someone house and she was there. I remember frequently looking at her as she would talk to people, smile and laugh. We later all sat outside by the fire. I could catch myself staring at her and seeing an orange flame in her blue eyes. She looked up and locked eyes with me. It was like a game of chicken because I told myself not to look away. There we were staring at each other locked in each others eyes for at least 12 seconds. She would break contact and again a few seconds later right back in the same spot but then I’d break eye contact. We did that throughout the night & I later left for work. I remember some issues at home happened while we were on the phone and she offered to meet somewhere. I accepted and shared a lot about myself then. That night I remember telling myself “don’t do it” “don’t give your heart away”. Later that week I remember asking to call her one night (I worked nights in an empty parking lot) and that night became a 7 hour conversation. I remember her staying up with me and refusing to sleep. I learned so much about her. I became open and vulnerable sharing my deepest hurts as well as her sharing with me. 4-5 nights later I had learned so much about this girl that so many others didn’t know. Things were going so well and at this time I couldn’t help myself anymore. I had fallen so hard for her that I wanted to treat her and love her like she deserves. I shared my emotions one rainy night. I panicked was unsure if I should share but my heart was so consumed with love and affection for her I didn’t want to carry that in the shadows of our friendship. I over shared and it was a lot. I knew she wasn’t ready since she had come out of a 6 year relationship 5 months ago. She cried after, it was a lot. I answered & we talked all night till the sun came up. We decided to continue being friends but keeping our conversations to a boundary. I bought her something for her birthday. Her favorite thing is the galaxy. I bought her a galaxy globe & key chain of Jupiter her favorite planet with a hand written letter of why I bought it. Long story short the letter basically says that space & her aren’t all that different. Both vast, beautiful, expansive, mysterious. Just like space her worth is immeasurable. Going to wait a month & a week then drive down to her church for her young adults before it ends & drop it off on her car
