I spent 7 years in love with my best friend. I watched him love a girl who didn’t appreciate him at all. But I still smiled and gave him advice when he asked. I still congratulated him on his engagement even though my heart was breaking on the inside. So I moved on. I tried to ignore the pain or the butterflies he gave me. Tried to give my bf my full attention. Tried throwing myself into work. Then like something out of a fantasy that I would run to. We both became single at the same time. And he kissed me. 2 years later. He still my best friend....and I’m so happy to wake up every morning. I don’t regret the years of pain. He was my best friend and we both had our own lessons to learn about ourselves so we could be the best selves we could be for each other

I fell in love with this woman so hard and fast it was like we were one in the same. We both saw the real person behind all the pain and suffering. To this day I just miss my best friend. She is the most amazing person to ever walk on this plant and I hope she gets everything she deserves because without her for even that brief moment I honestly don't know if I would be here. This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It is like it was written for me with the words I have been thinking. I am head over heels in love with the girl that is meant to be my soulmate. And she sadly didn't meet me first. She is with someone who does love her and she is happy. So I will never cross the line but i have crossed it 1000 times in my head. Every night I pray that somehow she will find her way to me. What hurts the most is that I swear she can feel it whenever I am next to her. Maybe one day. But until that day, I will just keep praying.

This song reminds me of the guy I met online. We talked through calls every night, we watched movies through an app. We shared random stories, asked each other how was our day went and we get to know each other. I definitely enjoyed talking with him! I am genuinely happy but then one night, I found out that he already had a girlfriend. I was so confused and sad because I knew I had to do the right thing ㅡ no matter how much I wanted to reply to his chats and to continue our talks I knew I had to stop. It wasn't easy because I got used to him. It wasn't easy to follow your brain while your heart is refusing. The part of the song where "In a different place and time. Maybe in another life. Been in love with my friend for longer than I can remember. He loves me, is always there for me. We've cried over being hurt, laughed about our flaws, spent hours talking about our past, how unique our friendship is and yes flirted. In the end we talk about the people in our lives and leave the flirting to just that flirting. I met my soulmate when we were both in unhappy relationships. He consoled me every time cried, I gave him advice so he could try and salvage his engagement. I love these songs because they give me a reminder. So many girls I’ve felt this way about. I never had the courage to tell some of them how I really felt about them and the ones I did tell just told me that we weren’t possible. From those experiences I have learned that I just have to let them go but every single one is harder than the last and it doesn’t help that I am the definition of a nice guy.

Hits right, dead center. Met her through work, she was amazing, like someone I'd never met before. Everything about her was special. She couldn't see it though what an amazing person she was. She fell for someone else though, but I just couldn't stay away from someone so special. She wasn't treated the way she should be, she deserved the moon and stars, but all she got was being controlled and it killed me. She was forbidden to talk or even text me. I'd never ever want to see her sad. We felt the vibe too between us, but never reacted cause she was with someone else and that's not something I would ever do. It was my first day doing an internship at a lawfirm. It was his as well. We clicked instantly and got to know each other so well. I fell madly in love with him. We were both single but I had just got out of an abusive relationship and wasn’t ready to start dating again. Soon after he started dating a girl he went to school with whom he’s been with for little over a year. We still talk quite frequently and I swear every time we look at eachother he can feel the sparks too. But i’m not a home wrecker, so I keep my distance and listen to sad songs like this.

I had feelings for someone for many years, but always kept my distance, as they had someone else, until one day they opened up to me, wasn't happy in their relationship, and the partner was acutally abusive. I tried to help, and we got super close, and we'd play this song to each other, along with others, and we knew if we met first, we'd be great together. But in the end she struggled to see a way out of her relationship, and we fell apart, and i still don't understand why she wouldn't let me help her, and she deserves so much more than her current situation.
I just hope she reaches out again to me soon.
