I spent 7 years in love with my best friend. I watched him love a girl who didn’t appreciate him at all. But I still smiled and gave him advice when he asked. I still congratulated him on his engagement even though my heart was breaking on the inside. So I moved on. I tried to ignore the pain or the butterflies he gave me. Tried to give my bf my full attention. Tried throwing myself into work. Then like something out of a fantasy that I would run to. We both became single at the same time. And he kissed me. 2 years later. He still my best friend....and I’m so happy to wake up every morning. I don’t regret the years of pain. He was my best friend and we both had our own lessons to learn about ourselves so we could be the best selves we could be for each other

This song reminds me of the guy I met online. We talked through calls every night, we watched movies through an app. We shared random stories, asked each other how was our day went and we get to know each other. I definitely enjoyed talking with him! I am genuinely happy but then one night, I found out that he already had a girlfriend. I was so confused and sad because I knew I had to do the right thing ㅡ no matter how much I wanted to reply to his chats and to continue our talks I knew I had to stop. It wasn't easy because I got used to him. It wasn't easy to follow your brain while your heart is refusing. The part of the song where "In a different place and time. Maybe in another life. Two years ago I started dating my best friend. I never thought it would happen. He would always say he wasn't looking for a relationship (it made me upset because I had already fallen in love with him). Then this one summer we stopped hanging out like before and I thought he hated me becasue he started to talk to someone else. Plus, everytime we talked he would mention this person. It hurt me. But I would rather have him be happy. I started talking to someone else too...thing is...I could never get him off my mind. Summer ended and fall came. We had a friendsgiving and before I went home, he gave me a letter. I read it and in it it said he had fallen in love with me. I later found out that the reason he stopped hanging out with me was becasue he was getting confused at what he was feeling towards me. He didn't know what he was feeling haha. But he was talking to that other person to figure it out (lol he's such a dork)
We've been friends for about 8+ years and on Nov. 19 we have officially been dating for two years. 💗

This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It is like it was written for me with the words I have been thinking. I am head over heels in love with the girl that is meant to be my soulmate. And she sadly didn't meet me first. She is with someone who does love her and she is happy. So I will never cross the line but i have crossed it 1000 times in my head. Happened to me, my fiancé was someone I meet in college my first day and we hung out at school Becoming good friends. I was in a relationship with another guy and he knew and respected it. When I broke up my relationship during my summer vacation from College. No one knew not even my friend who had recently moved away to a different college in a different place. Fast forward to the beginning of the school year and my friend messaged me and asked how things were going and managed to ask about the guy I was seeing. This hits home.. I met a guy.. after a while he became more and more like my best friend.. we were together all the time.. he had a girlfriend at the time so when we hung out she was there took half the time.. after a while I slowly started to fall for him more.. after a while his girlfriend and I became closer and she was like an older sister to me. One day she got super sick.. no one really knew what was wrong but they had to do surgery.. and it was a pretty risky surgery and no one thought she would survive.. so she started saying her goodbyes.. she came to him and I and had this talk... “I can see what you two have is special.. don’t let me ruin that.. you two belong together you both love each other and I can see that I’m not sure if I have much longer after this surgery but I want you two to be happy.. so if you guys want to give it a try go ahead.” Thankfully she made it through surgery.. while she was away him and I started talking and getting closer. Eventually she came back into his life and was basically like “it’s either her or me” he chose me.. I was so happy but she wasn’t.. we dated for about a week and after a while I found out that she had been talking to him behind my back.. making cute little dates and stuff.. he came up to me one day and said “hey, look I’ve been thinking about the decision I made a while back about picking between you two.. idk what to do” anyway.. he chose her.. it would always be her.. sometimes I wonder what it would be like if her and I swapped places.. Him and I don’t talk anymore but Ik he’s happy..

I just now heard this song. I met the love of my life junior year of high school(2016). With how many problems I had at home and with family, she was my escape. She put a smile on my face when things weren’t going good. We made each other promises like loving each other forever. We graduated together and it all seemed like a love story you see in a movie. I moved cities to go to school and in search of a better life because I grew up poor. We tried the long distance thing and it worked for a while until it didn’t. We broke up in 2017 then 10 months later we got back together but nothing was the same. I didn’t feel she loved me anymore. We broke up in 2018 and ever since then I have a hole in my heart and every girl i meet i compare them to her and they have never won. Been single for damn near 4 years now but I just know its not a good idea. But I did promise her I’d love her forever..

But in the end she struggled to see a way out of her relationship, and we fell apart, and i still don't understand why she wouldn't let me help her, and she deserves so much more than her current situation.

I love these songs because they give me a reminder. So many girls I’ve felt this way about. I never had the courage to tell some of them how I really felt about them and the ones I did tell just told me that we weren’t possible. Hits right, dead center. Met her through work, she was amazing, like someone I'd never met before. Everything about her was special. She couldn't see it though what an amazing person she was. She fell for someone else though, but I just couldn't stay away from someone so special. She wasn't treated the way she should be, she deserved the moon and stars, but all she got was being controlled and it killed me. She was forbidden to talk or even text me. I'd never ever want to see her sad. We felt the vibe too between us, but never reacted cause she was with someone else and that's not something I would ever do.
