It's such a shame Deniece had to get eliminated. She knows her voice and all the notes so so well and the sound of her voice is just amazing. Ruth did get a bit shouty and lost control with her breath at times but she was pretty powerful. Just down to personal preference I guess.
Deniece looks like Toni Braxton and sounds like Nicole Scherzinger!

Ruth really shouts in this. I prefer Deniece's softer more controlled version. Ruth is more powerful but she over uses it and ruins the vibe. They both then end up screeching to try and out do each other.

Deniece clearly won...if you don't watch the video and just listen. Her movements and expresions are awkward and dated...but her vocal was 5x better than Ruth's. Loud isn't the same as good.

This is one of the most outstanding duets I've seen in a long time. Ruth deserved to go through but Deniece more than held her own and the arrangement of the two vocals was brilliant.

I was actually crying watching this live i have loved Denise since i was a kid seeing her in action and singing for her life was too much for me .. her voice and tone are outstanding .

Theres no doubt Deniece had an amazing voice. Such a gorgeous quality to it. You'd know she was in the industry a lot time but I'm glad Ruth one. Loved the rawness and grit to her voice.

Deniece showed a great display of controlling her vocals . She could have easily taken this competition. Deniece already being an established artist has what it takes to have easily won. What Deniece did was a great show of sportsman ship and letting Ruth Brown win this will hopefully help the loud ,screaming Ruth Brown get a record label. Ruth you have a good voice just bring it down a little all I got was screaming loud noise.
