The Stig was also shaking his head while driving this around the Top Gear track. Immediately thereafter be spun off in a comparable Gti...And did a faster lap than in the Gti 🤷♂️In any case it was very underrated but also required more concentration by its driver (fly by wire accelerator very difficult to modulate - either full on or off) and once used to it, it knocked the opposition silly 😎
I’d say check your track rod ends. And your bottom arms. For the steering problem my 1.9 used to be a handful under braking and try pull me into other lane due to track rod end
Was thinking maybe rear drop link or anti roll bar bushes could be the knocking noise, the pulling all over the road could be wheel alignment, specially as looks like your steering wheel isn't straight when on straight road. I would give brakes a check over if its pulling to one side under braking could be a seized caliper. Lack of power could be boost leak.
These don't come with rear anti roll bars, though if you fancy a nice upgrade in handling they are a brilliant driveway upgrade (if you're a bit handy). The knock is most likely either all that shit in the boot, or the rear beam bushing mine has gone at the moment its a pain to do as the bolt is trapped in place from factory but worth doing when you get chance just do both sides together obviously! Callipers are a bitch with Astra's as far as I can tell so check for sticking! Lastly get a full alignment done as your steering's off. If you're not a bitch about it yes the steering pulls a bit as its actually attached to the front wheels! Unlike more modern cars. No hate just go with it, they are really quite rewarding when you're practiced. When you know what the car will do, you can really kick an Astra's head in and it will thankyou for it!
Rear doesn’t have drop links, from factory as its a solid rear beam, definitely get a whiteline rear anti roll bar and poly bushes for the rear beam, alignment issues could of had suspension work done before, never had the alignment done or the track rods could be seized causing it to pull
It pulls a lot to the right. probs a few of suspension bits are gone. please rev it more , its not a diesel bro the exhaust is absolutely lovely , with the pops espically ,but rev it harder
I had a stage 2 VXR 10 years ago and drove it hard every day through country roads and never felt like it was going to kill me 😂 that’s a piper exhaust btw get 1 cat taken out and it’ll pop and bang every year change
It's more then likely the breaks that are making the knocking sound and also worn out due to the rain and rust coz I had the same problem on my VXR with a turbo and brand new supercharger in it i thought that wos the problem at first but i found later it was not the supercharger it was my front 2 coz of the rust over time which I didn't know about until I got it checked out so i got them both changed and decided to get the rear ones changed on the same day aswel jus to be on the safe side and my machanic said if I didn't get them looked at then it would hav got worse so get the brakes all the breaks looked at even if the other ones r ok and that should solve the issue and make the knocking sound stop good luck and hope it gets sorted out so u don't hav to put up with the annoying knocking sound
Need to rev these cars out to get the power out them, it’s all up the top end with VXRs. Maybe get the steering sorted first so you don’t end up off the road 😂
It'll have a vacuum hose round the back of the engine that's come off or split. Used to be known as the Turkey noise on the forums, quite common but doesn't do the turbo any good
I've put a forged blanking plate on my recirc it def shouldn't sound like that I'd say your recirc needs changing or boost leak see if it's had the rear bcs delete eliminates lots of issues just Google it if your not sure what to do .there is loads of help on the forums join astra h owners club or vxr owners club good advice on there
Do you drive it with the sport button on? It may feel slow if your not driving with the button on, most vxr’s are mapped to the sport button, mine was standard power until I pressed the sport button if that makes sense, great video mate and congrats on the subs👍🏼😁👏🏼
I know the mpg on these, isn’t what they’re built for but I couldn’t be arsed having to constantly fill up for the 200 mile a week I do. Most is on average speed camera roads, too. Anyone give us an idea of the sort of fuel bill I’d be looking at? My current car does 26 / 28 average at the moment
Thats so fast? Really? I had a mapped one, also 270bhp and it was terrible, very slow and uncomfortable, i traded it in for a stage 2 apr rs7, that was a bit better and ran a low 10 second quarter mile, which is pretty decent for a big heavy boat.

Love ur vids I have an astra my self not a vxr watched the full vid keep up the good work😃
Thank you!

rear beam bushes will be your knocking sound, very common
Exactly the anti-rollbar bushes get worn out with aggressive driving
Thank you!
@@MrBillyVlogs it’s a cheap job to get repaired as well
Also the headlights are not from a vxr I believe they’re from a standard Astra h model so definitely worth changing them 👌
Will do at some point mate thank you!

You will find a lot if standard mk5 have the headlights with black inserts , not just vxr
Okay so aslong as black inserts should be fine.
Yes all headlight from a 3 door and 5 door are the same

👀
The pulling will probably be tracking it did look like your steering wheel was off centre
Looks like you need an alignment the way you’re fighting the wheel. Also check tyre pressures
Will do bro thank you!
There not meant to flutter like that mate, the reason why it doesn’t feel quick is that the recirc valve will be gone
Cheers matey I will try locate it and see what its saying bro its extremely slow aha
gorgeous little machine bro just a couple things need doing up and it’ll be a blast
Thank you mate 🙌

Hahaha cheers mate will rev more on my next pov drive!
Can you spray the inside of the headlights yourself? You would save a bit there I suppose.
Not sure think it’ll be a right pain to do and my patience making the job look great will be little to none aha
Yes billy boy how are you mate and good car clean man and seen you reading meet
Good bro and thank you!
Also the filter shouldn’t flutter , may have a rip in the recirc valve would only flutter if it was uprated
Oh right maybe why it is slow 🤣
Yh may have a boost leek

@@simonbyrne1182 yep the turkey noise is air hitting against the turbo blades , and again can cause damage to turbo seals

Most of it looks like suspension but these r very notorious for having atrocious torque steer

@@MrBillyVlogs yet to watch it mate but I will do soon as👍🏼
You can't map them to the sport button with standard ECU.
Sport button just changes the throttle response.
VXR😍😍😍

car feels slow cuz its heavy get the corsa vxr that sends its so fast i had a mapped corsa 270hp

❤
You should give it a straight pipe and pop and bang remap😂
We will see 👀
Give it to her boy
Yeh bro
Is the road tax really £395?
I pay monthly even on my S3 its expensive
I'm not surprised
This is definitely running rich or lean lol I’d say boost leak and your wheel alignment is way out of
I’ll look for a boost leak thanks mate!
Looks like it’s been in a accident in its life
Can't listen to this guy talk
Lol
