is it posable to make a solar panel with CDs? Yes, it is possible to make a simple solar panel using CDs (compact discs). This can be done as a DIY project, often used for educational or demonstration purposes. The basic idea is to use the reflective metallic coating on the back of a CD as a makeshift solar cell. When exposed to light, this coating can generate a small amount of electrical current that can be used to power simple electronic devices or charge small batteries. Here's a general overview of how to make a solar panel using CDs: Gather the materials: You'll need several CDs, a small electric motor or LED light, some wires, and basic tools like scissors or a knife. Prepare the CDs: Remove the outer plastic ring from the CDs to expose the reflective metallic coating on the back. Connect the CDs: Arrange the CDs in a grid or panel configuration and connect them in series using the wires. This will allow the generated current to add up. Attach the load: Connect the small electric motor or LED light to the positive and negative terminals of the CD solar panel. Test and optimize: Expose the CD solar panel to a light source, such as a lamp or sunlight, and observe the operation of the connected load. You may need to adjust the number of CDs or the wiring to optimize the power output. Keep in mind that the power output of a CD-based solar panel is relatively low, typically in the range of milliwatts. It's suitable for powering small, low-power devices, but not for high-power applications. The efficiency of this type of solar panel is also quite low compared to commercially available solar cells. Nevertheless, making a solar panel with CDs can be a fun and educational project, especially for students or hobbyists interested in renewable energy and DIY electronics. -Claude 3- 🤷

Oh my God, what nonsense! I work at a company that produces solar panels, from soldering the cells to laminating the modules and testing them with special devices called SunSimulators, or as we call them, Flashers. So, a solar panel does not function at all like it's shown in this video. The process of making a solar panel is as follows: The glass panel is placed on the conveyor belt. On top of it, an EVA (ethyl-vinyl acetate) sheet is placed. Then, the "Stringer" machine solders the monocrystalline cells in series with a conductive BUS BAR (10 cells soldered in series make up a "String"). Next, these strings are placed on the glass, which already has the first EVA sheet. Then another machine applies the connecting Bus bar between the strings with a +/- orientation. After that, the second EVA sheet is applied, followed by the reinforcement sheet "BackSheet," which is a stronger sheet, something like high-density PA (Polyamide High Density). Now, the module goes into a laminating machine that, through vacuum and heat, melts the glass cells without shifting them and removes any air bubbles or traps. After this process, the module (or now called the LAMINATE) moves to a robot equipped with a knife that trims the excess melted film from the four sides. The next station is an optical inspection by a worker who checks, under strong light, if the bus bars are in position and if they haven’t shifted during the laminating process. The next step is framing, where metal frames are applied around the Laminate. Then the junction boxes are connected by soldering them to the contacts that were left exposed under the film. Finally, the module reaches the SunSimulator (Flasher) testing system, which illuminates the modules and measures each module’s power, after which they are sorted by category. At the next station, the junction boxes are filled with a silicone that prevents moisture from getting in. After that, the modules can be packed. So, that’s roughly the process. What’s shown in this video is utter nonsense.

Why the pixeled faces? 🤔 Using tape to secure the foil to the silicone surface? Panels get extremely hot in the sun? Hot glue? First time out they would all melt off and separate. 3000W/330V=9A per CD "cell"? At 93 W/FT° of sunlight power, you're generating over 100% of the available power at 100% efficiency. CD Dia 4.75" = 0.123 FT° x 220 disks = 27 FT° 93 W/FT° x 27 FT° = 2517 W and that's at 100% efficiency!

I don't think it would be so hard to build, to the contrary, It's basic and easy to build. We use 60Hz in America, does the solar frequency converter is adjustable to convert the current to 60Hz? And I think the device you build is for 220V, that's no problem at all to get 110 from 220. With a breaker for security for the 110V line, I don't think it would be problem at all.

!But that's stupid, it can't work with any kind of CD or DVD! 40 years ago, I actually built a similar panel from individual plates, disassembled from rectifier selenium blocks, and it worked! Each plate is made of an aluminum supporting part up to 1 mm thick, on which there is a layer of Selenium and over it there is a thin layer of tin solder. The tin layer needs to be partially removed (made transparent to the light) by heating the entire board to the melting temperature of the solder, but below 220°C (otherwise there is a risk of destruction of selenium) gently wipe with a soft brush, including the paint. The terminals are solved by pressure contacts on the aluminum underside, and the second contact is made by careful soldering (temperature below 220°C) at the edge of the tin upper surface. Each cell gives about 0.70 V in the sun.

Why would you hide your face if it worked?
is any one thinking about why this guy shows us for free the way he ern billions?
Love your ingenuity! I sure wish I had the energy to do stuff like this nowadays. I wanted to know if there's a way you could hook it up and store the power in a battery?
I'm older and bought a van hoping to live in it for a while and to travel. I would like solar but they make it so confusing. You're making it very simple I would just need a way to store it.
Anyway brilliant!!
9:36 min look at the disk, there is a video montage - something is hidden in rectangles. На 9:36 минуте смотрите на диск там видео монтаж в виде прямоугольников, что-то скрыто
Gracias a la alta tecnología mostrada en estos videos Trump a pedido que se le reconstruya su oreja. Esta convencido de que nada puede ir mal.
If this is such a good idea, why have solar panel manufacturers not done the same thing?
@@jarmstrong2843 because they don't have the equipment to make their own CDs🤨
😂 Stick a few cds together and run a welder!!! I couldn't run a welder from my entire array of real solar panels.
@markjust86 apparently they also have never heard of door blanks, so had to use doors that already had knobs, and other parts on them...
Something is not right.
Thank you very much for making this video it was really cool it is nice to know that I always are building things like that at home although I never would spend the time I'd rather just purchase one I really enjoyed the knowledge and the video thank you very much it was a great video
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !! MDR ! j'ai un pote qui c'est plugger un plug dans le fion et il obtient 200 Giga watts seconde en tournant autour de ça maison et cela fonctionne parfaitement bien !

How do you shop for CDs or DVDs made of silicon? It doesn’t seem to be specified in product descriptions. Also, is 210 of them going to cost thousands of dollars?
Watch the video to see the DVD's he used, the label of the DVD can be seen. Do your own due diligence.
Very likely he has shares on the brand of DVD-R
I was literally just thinking “I wonder if it’s possible to make a diy solar panel”
Semplicemente un prestigiatore... la plastica è un materiale che non conduce elettricità
What is the incentive of people doing all these bogus videos?
UA-cam views equals money
Love you Guys Awesome
This is yesterday's technology... Wise people use a pack of 3 AAA batteries and golden wire with platinum claims. It will produce 10 kW of energy for more than 77 days. 🧐
P.S. The guy is a genius - people always watch this video!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅
🤪 🤪 🤪 🤣 🤣 🤣
And then they haul off n share it with their friends!😂😂😂😂
3m2 solar, approx. 1000W/m2 from sun = 3000w/installation. When you get 3000w from the Installation you are the solarmaster of the world with 100% effi. 😂😂😂 omg, tell me what you did smoked ? Must be great shit 🤣😂🤣😂
There is no silicon in CDs but an aluminum layer 🤦 But you have so much fun making fun of people?
How? Why wouldn’t big corporations or the government just use cd’s?
Because they are corrupt!!! 100% AND WILL TRY CBDC,S
Cause it doesn't get as much energy as you think.....you'd have to cover a building to power your toothbrush....
What a great idea to make a 3000W panel with terrible craftsmanship, when you can get 3150W BrightSolar panels for €490! Well, the kindergarten's craft class passes nicely in this kind of tinkering and the children have fun...
If this was true then why hide your face
So the solar panel companies don't have him suddenly disappear
@@murraychadwick9362 lol... it cannot work!
FYI... they would just have the video taken down and the account / |P address identified. He'd be |D'ed in less than an hour!
I'll run a small-scale test.
