Great to watch your vlog with me video using some film and gimbal techniques. I just found your channel yesterday and the 6th video I have watched. Great channel! I am learning film technique.
Love this vlog! Shooting on the fly or being a running gunner brings more excitement. I just lack the patience using the gimbal but I use other tricks to stay smooth. The gimbal of course is superior. Your smashed ND filter mishap was important to share so we don’t suffer the same pain. I wound up with two carbon fiber tripods. One for home and travel and the other stays in my car trunk. I’m using my 80D for some shots because I have four lenses. I have the M-50, G7X II and Go Pro. The M-50 does the lions share of shooting. I keep the Rode wireless and a shotgun mics too. I love your adventures!
Thanks so much!! Yes it's SO different to film on the fly. Especially after doing it at home so much and for clients, when you can actually take the time to make things perfect. On the go is more about working with what you have whether it's gear, time, focus, etc. I'm sure you know 😊The carbon fiber tripods sound nice! I think once you get used to gimbals and the balancing act then less patience is required, but the bulk of carrying them around is still annoying. Thanks for joining in on the adventure!
Shooting commercials and scripted assignments must be perfect in every detail. Clients notice things nobody would ever see. The customer is always right. Some clients think they’re Hemingway when the hand you their incredibly crappy scripts. Then they want your robotic performance sitting just like Max Headroom. The gift of vlogging is our use our ability experiment and create as we go along. As for UA-cam’s promotion of ten minute or longer videos, we see so many videos where the creators ramble on just to make that ten minute mark. I’m going to experiment with joining two or three different vlogs like our TV news. Your ability to move, speak and always stay elegant is top shelf. Your information is always timely, relevant and interesting. On the other hand Casey Niestat made millions on his trips to the dentist, Starbucks, entering planes, hotel rooms and a lot of seemingly routine activity. He’s always moving in a rush displaying endless energy. He’s got a face only a mother could love and uses it like a sword rather than a liability. Casey’s real talent is storytelling. Vlogging finally got to him and he’s now semi-retired living In Venice CA. Alicia you rock!
Love the “vlog with me” concept. Great to hear what goes into a vlog and the frustrations (“this would look better with a 30mm”, etc). Watching from Australia!
The M6 Mk II looks great. I can't wait to travel again. We've been just doing short trips where we can drive with our little one. You gotta get the Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod. It's expensive but worth it. I use it everywhere.
Awesome thanks for the recommendation! Peak Design does make some quality stuff. I’m sure baby Jaylyn is loving the short trips 😊 The great thing about little ones is that everything is brand new to them! What’s your first choice destination once travel gets easy again?
Great video. For a good travel tripod i would recommend Sirui AM 005. Just got this one and it can hold my eosr with heavy 16 35mm lens with no issues. It is also very light weight.
We are going to Colorado in February I’ve really been studying your canon m50 videos and trying to get prepared for our trip! Hoping for some great shots and love your videos
I use Canon RP but I think it would good if it can shoot 4k. I want to upgrade to Canon R6 but it is too expensive so I think about M6 ii. I have a question, do you think which one is better between 1080p from Canon RP or 4k from Canon M6 ii? Thank you very much
Another great video! Crazy question, what is the cover you have for your MacBook? I’m wanting something to protect from bumps, but without the bulk of a hard case.
I loved this, thanks for sharing. I need to learn how to use manual focus while vlogging. I rely on autofocus and it often doesn’t focus where I want it to! (Olympus 17mm) x
Certainly the G7X MkIII is less than startling and a bit of a let down. I’m going for the Sony ZV-1 for Christmas. For daily blogging it should be great. Brilliant vlog and your daughter is a star!
Awww don't be.. just go for it! It always feels weird to film but once you edit everything you realize it's not so bad! I'm glad you found this helpful 😃
Amae nice vlog with tips. Although my heart did jump at 13:50, thought it was dangerous of a spot for her to be let free to walk/run on..without lifejacket on.
You too Dr. Sooraj! Thanks for joining in on the premiere. I will do one for the next video too so be sure to hit the notification bell (if you haven't already) Talk soon!
So gorgeous out there, thanks for taking me out....haven't been out in a while because of silly pandemic! Great video, take care 💞🥰❤️ Come by and say hello if you get a chance, we'd love to share our latest 😊❤️
Oh my goodness! your family are so precious we must protect them at all costs!!!!!
I think I’ve totally stayed at that Airbnb before! Love your videos. You’ve helped me so much! Thank you :)

I love your videos! Especially this style, because I'm so intimidated by vlogging and your tips are really helpful. Thank you so much!!

I'm so glad to hear that Adrian!! I hope I will get better at sharing exactly what is most helpful for people to hear, so I appreciate the feedback 😃

Wow what a incredible vlog
Thanks so much! Are you guys vloggers too?
for gimbal I found it looked jerky, mostly when you would pan left and right. Great content tho :) thank you for sharing.
