This is groovy Rock N Roll! Viva Bando-Maidoo! 🤘 They're intelligent musicians. I think the drummer Akane Hirose is 29 yrs. Correct me if i'm wrong. She is tecnically perfect, with perfect pose and handling. Her wrists are loose as hot spaghetti. She's inovative, happy, hungry and a badass drummer.
Hej Kent-Ove, Correct, last information I have is Akane Hirose - Born Dec 14, 1990. So 29 years old. Well, 29½ if you want to be picky ;) Not from official source though, so not 100% sure. 'Citation needed' as wikipedia would say.
I couldn't agree more! They need and deserve to be heavy promoted outside Japan! Every lady in this band is so freaking talented at what they do. and together they are unbelievably special. For me it's unbelievable how the music scene got so poisoned with so much 'bulls**t' that i refuse to call music. and it's a shame that the tv- and music-stations are promoting this crap instead of the real artists out there.

The tune is "Arcadia Girl" from their 2015 album New "Beginning" and I think you'll like it. I like the video too, though it's not live there's a lot of fun footage from live events. Akane and MISA messing around during a live performance is funny. Dorian has a great channel with lots of behind the scenes pictures and vid clips....Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/GlT6krS5cio/v-deo.html
I may be naive, but I hope that enthousiastic reactions like yours and many others will finally spread the word and that some western record or media executive will take notice. This is so frustrating.
I think Miku, Kanami and Akane are around 30 years old, Akane is the oldest and Miku and Kanami a year or so apart. And it is mentioned that Misa and Akane knew each other from music school, I suppose Misa is also around 30 years old. Saiki is the youngest, she is around 26 years old. It is not very sure, but I think that more or less those are their ages.
Great reaction! Don't worry about stopping the song in the middle. This is necessary to avoid the video being blocked. AKANE (Drummer) had studied at a music school, so her basic skills are decent. Many Japanese don't even know about them, because since they are not Japanese mainstream. I am Japanese, and I happened to come up with a UA-cam recommendation and found out. I think one of the reasons why they don't sing in English is that many Japanese are not good at English. Saiki is not good at English either. It may be that using only a part of the English lyrics in the Japanese lyrics makes the sound better for Japanese listener. LOVEBITES is singing in English, but even Japanese people find their pronunciation uncomfortable. (I love LOVEBITES! But since I grew up listening to Western music, I'm worried about pronunciation in English) If they want to conquer the world, I think it's better to focus on English lyrics, but I think there is no need to overdo it considering the affinity between Japanese and English. Sorry for my poor English.
In general English is hard for Japanese. Unless they master or speak like Spanish. The transition is easier. But pronounciation wise, all struggle. Your English is good, not seeing anything poor.
Can U reaction Wagakki-Band (和楽器バンド)/ Homura ( 焰) 、Akatuki no ito (暁の糸)live in Japan , Ikusa (戦)・・・They are great band as Band-Maid which U may don`t know yet .
It's called "decorative English". Most Japanese don't speak good english (as a homogenous and very strong culturally bind society, this is not needed outside business as much as Europeans, other Asians or Latin Americans) but words and phrases in English are used as decorations in their signs, advertising, songs, as an extra nice touch (good for tourism too). If you see their signs and advertising they are full of errors, weird grammatical constructions, and so on. Because it's decorative they don't pay much attention to it. Of course musicians are much more careful because they are exposed to a wider worldwide audience.
We have the reverse now, with the Japanese writing on "Super Dry" clothing apparently being utter nonsense, chosen purely for how it looks. It's not just the Japanese though. I saw a pretty young woman in Vietnam a few months ago, smiling away, with a t-shirt bearing the slogan "Dead inside".
I do not mind pausing if it is done right--just rewind a little after you make some comments. If I wanted no pausing at all, I would just watch the original. I like your insights.
Japan is the 2nd biggest music market in the world, so I guess they concentrate on the domestic market. They do have two songs that are fully in English (The Dragon Cries and Don't Let Me Down) but being in English doesn't really seem to have helped those two in terms of popularity. The biggest obstacle for them is gaining exposure, because their music speaks for itself. As for blocks, it seems pretty random. Babymetal are more notorious for it, but Band-Maid seem to be fine for 95% or reactors, but the rest have problems.
A smattering of English is ok with me, but I do prefer the musical SOUND of Japanese to that of English...not sure why...And lyrics get in the way sometimes, like in The Dragon Cries...the political edge was unsavory--it's the only one of their songs that doesn't make me SMILE...
@@StoneShards the odd thing is that's there's nothing political in the lyrics. Nobody had a clue what the song was apparently about until the video was made.
Miku composes the lyrics and is considered on of the best lyricists if not the best one in Japan, Kanami composes the music Misa the base line and Akane arranges the drums within Kanami parameters. Saiki is getting more involved with Miku on lyrics. I think Akane is 30 the others 29 and Saiki is 28 this year.
Why are they not properly promoted, especially abroad? Their label is owned by a company that produces equipment for karaoke clubs. The label is focused on the Japanese market and idol bands careers. This is probably why their website looks like it was made 30 years ago by some middle school student, and of course there is no professional English version of it, or English subtitles for MVs. Meanwhile, as the founder of Band Maid, Miku Kobato, officially admits, almost 70% of their fans come from outside of Japan. The Japanese are very mysterious people?
I’m enjoying your Band maid reaction Sir. 😉 Their talents have not been properly evaluated in Japan yet I think. In Japan, the metal culture and the hard rock culture like Western countries are not major. (Of course, there is many good bands) In order for them to succeed, they must conquer the world. Interestingly, Marty Friedman said the same thing as you. He is living in Japan now. He also said "Japanese artists should definitely sing in Japanese and work abroad. Japanese language has a wonderful sound, so it reaches the hearts of people overseas."
@@kurepato8173 Yep, and I wouldn't be surprised if Marty Friedman also had a crush on the bass player. 😂
Thank you for a nice reaction In my opinion their outfit gives some quirky impression to foreign people and think they are gimmick band Also we Japanese are not good at promotion
So thank you again for introducing BANDMAID many times to English speaking people
By the way Badmaid and also Babymetal girls are fighting "hengao" funny face battle when they have chance during live performance And that might makes you think they seems happy
Of course they are enjoying performances with audience even when they do not fight each other
Roll the 🎲 *DICE* 🎲 on BAND-MAID and be a winner all the time _winner winner chicken dinner!!!_
I do wonder if Miku still plays PUBG.
@@lordgalahad She does, she did a live streaming not long ago and won 2 chicken dinners of 3 games.
MISA!!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!!! One of the few MV I like better than the Live performance
This is groovy Rock N Roll!
Viva Bando-Maidoo! 🤘
They're intelligent musicians.
I think the drummer Akane Hirose is 29 yrs. Correct me if i'm wrong.
She is tecnically perfect, with perfect pose and handling. Her wrists are loose as hot spaghetti.
She's inovative, happy, hungry and a
badass drummer.
And she plays one of the smallest drum kits I have seen in a rock band.
Hej Kent-Ove,
Correct, last information I have is Akane Hirose - Born Dec 14, 1990. So 29 years old.
Well, 29½ if you want to be picky ;)
Not from official source though, so not 100% sure. 'Citation needed' as wikipedia would say.

Cool, amazing...
MISA MISA MISA! Akane Hirose aka the Gorilla or A-chan (Drums) is the Clown of the group (along with MISA) and definitely the most social member and at 29 still got plenty ahead of her.
Watching MV's of Band-Maid is cool because you KNOW they can duplicate it live and is not just production.
Been my experience that American media of all types are pretty much closed to Band Maid and Japanese bands since the Baby Metal appearance on American television (one time)
I think a lot of that was because they don't play the music themselves and also the whole fox god thing I think turns a lot of people off.
Nice Reaction!!~ :D Thank You~
Band-Maid - Choose Me Live / Real Existence Live Reaction Please~ :)
Hi Alex I always follow you and I'm guitarist, Maid Bands are phenomenal, I listen to many successful rock metal bands and I can assure you that these girls are phenomenal.Kanami is a fantastic and whimsical composer never banal, Misa what to say I don't know what to say, Akane wow, Miku and Saychi. Weight that the maximum of the band is expressed in the song RINNE, listen to it .... just by listening to it in the various passages, nuances, breaks, missed times...Weight that the maximum of the band is expressed in the song RINNE, listen to it .... just listening to it in the various passages, nuances, breaks, missed times, simply brilliant and all Maid damage the maximum. Yeah, no need to apologize for stopping. If we want to hear the tune uninterupted we'll go to the official video, you do what you have to do. Here's their only tune, that I know of, all in english ua-cam.com/video/skEkpogsmE0/v-deo.html Now, here's a tune from Dorian's youtube channel, he's a huge "Maid-iac" I'm sure he made this video. The tune is "Arcadia Girl" from their 2015 album New "Beginning" and I think you'll like it. I like the video too, though it's not live there's a lot of fun footage from live events. Akane and MISA messing around during a live performance is funny. Dorian has a great channel with lots of behind the scenes pictures and vid clips....Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/GlT6krS5cio/v-deo.html
if u like MISA base, u have to check play live...
I may be naive, but I hope that enthousiastic reactions like yours and many others will finally spread the word and that some western record or media executive will take notice. This is so frustrating.
Akane is 29, turning 30 this year.
True, they sound much better live.
I have been to one, and I know.

natiural reaction very goods!!
Try: Bloodiwood - Machi Bhasad, is an Indian Folk Metal band. just enjoy :)
Please do reaction TIME..its fanmade video. I'm sure you gonna be suprise..
I like that one, It’s has in way a 90’s grunge vibe, regardless of the singing, the music written is very unique that way :)
But since I grew up listening to Western music, I'm worried about pronunciation in English)
If they want to conquer the world, I think it's better to focus on English lyrics, but I think there is no need to overdo it considering the affinity between Japanese and English.
Sorry for my poor English.
Your English is way better than my non-existent Japanese.... ;o)
I didn't notice Lovebites sang in English at first time. I think singing in Japanese is much better than in awkward English.
In general English is hard for Japanese. Unless they master or speak like Spanish. The transition is easier. But pronounciation wise, all struggle.
Your English is good, not seeing anything poor.
Did you want to react to the Misa cam version of the song?😉👍
Drummer Akane (Kay-nom-ee) is the joker and most popular among the girls but I have notice that she is sly during interviews.
There is only one who is not shy. Her name begins with a M and ends on iku. 🤣

Miku and Saiki say they are working on their english
@@RevStickleback
@@StoneShards I recognise it from the video, but nobody at all mentioned anything political about the song until the video came out.

I knew you watched the concert right? So how did the live version compare to the studio version?
I almost dont want all their songs in English. If I want know the lyrics that's what google is for.
I suggest Band Maiko "Gion-cho" for something a little different.
Best female band hand down you dont have speak Japanese to enjoy this
please react to Unlucky Morpheus - UNENDING SORCERESS , this song is epic
Please react to the band, Trident - Continue. You gonna love it..!
I believe in their success.from Japan🇯🇵Arigato🙏
request japanese hard rock band (ningen isu)
Here's one I haven't seen you do yet. Rinne (Reincarnation) It's probably the heaviest thing they've ever done. It's an MV but it's good.

I'm surprised you have not their Wikipedia page. They don't sing in English coz their confidence in English is low. But language should not be a problem.... Rammstein is a perfect example. I'm from Australia living in the far north of Sweden. I to understand your exasperation as to why these ladies are not as popular as what we feel they should be.There are alot of aspects at play here... 1: Xenophobia..... Not in your language 2.Sexism..... Girls playing Rock music 3.The Baby Metal effect..... Talent being overlooked because of nationality, gender and on stage attire.
turn light off please. birght much.
