A corporate film for a Hairdresser. 300€ shooting and editing. It was in the days of Final Cut Pro 7 and when all those crazy tutorials and drone shots were still inexistent to prosumers. Shot it with a camcorder.
I'm a music producer. I start a UA-cam channel some months ago but your channel makes me record my first music video, completely alone for a friend and it was so mutch fun!!.... Just do it ! You are right
I worked with fun loving guys with names like Mark Bone.... then I took some risks and now work at a place that affords me the privilege to work with the best of the best. Keep the vids coming they are great!
Also super important to have a positive outlook. I tell interns it can be like 80% personality 20% skill. If people like working with you, you can do no wrong.
@@adriansaywell Brother!! Great to see you on here. You were huge in my early days of Data DMT work! Very patient with me as I learned how to LTO and work a computer that wasn't a Mac. Hope you're crushing it man!
Hey Mark, I always think about the 10 things that don't need talent, posted below, if you are just starting off just bring these 10 things to set! Being On Time. Punctuality has become a large issue in recent years it seems. ... Work Ethic. Some will argue work ethic and effort are the same. ... Effort. Hopefully you see the difference already. ... Body Language. ... Energy. ... Attitude. ... Passion. ... Being Coachable.
I wanted to be on set of music video to see how things were done on that scale. Just messaged a music director, requesting him to be on his set just while watching this video, i was resisting it for so long finally did it.(waiting for reply). First step☑️. Thank you for the motivation.
Mark! Love your work and dig your vlogs man!! Currently working at an ad agency as the lead videographer, and have a drop shipping business outside of that, so I definitely feel “busy” or overwhelmed at times... Needless to say, my goal is to travel the world and find stories to tell that would have otherwise never been told. My point is, I’m fighting to get out on my own, but money is tight and time is a commodity that I don’t see myself having much of right now. If it’s ever possible to chat/FaceTime/phone call or even email and ask for any advice or insight, I would seriously value that! Sincerely, a fellow content creator and story teller🎥🙌
What camera were you using to film this footage? I saw you all of a sudden jump into the same shot as your friend while he was talking without any shake and was like how sway!?!? Lol. Great content and footage!✊🏽
Two problems I got: I am not easy to work with when I am not creator (Direction, DoP which I am learning or at least tying to, Editor, which I am, was) nor have I a good real as most or best of my work got lost in a broken drive. I see creating stuff... just creating stuff and using this stuff as a real or making a real out of it. Cool got it.
Been trying to wrap my head around this. regarding the BMW opening scene where it's facing the guy through the big window, there's the reflection of the bmw on the glass. Is that reflection put there in post?
Yes, but this is only when the client changes their vision and doesn't want the video anymore. So important to have a kill fee written into your contract
First, it breaks my heart that neither of you knows how to unload a film camera Second, I can't believe Matti tried to take a photo of you AFTER YOU REWOUND THE FILM. Third, I'm sad Matti is using a point-and-shoot film camera. #children
Mike Keller ha! I’ve only ever used Single Lens Reflex 35mm cameras (and still do) so the automatic rewind caught me off guard! Also matti took that pic of me before we unloaded the film ;)
What was your first paid gig??
Milo Young love it. We’ve all been there where we over deliver on jobs that are practically free 😬😬😬

Filmed a Bangladeshi wedding after posting an add online 😂
My first paid gig was actually a commercial for a barber shop, I only charged 350$ and gave them like 50 photos..
I don't know if this counts but my first paid gig was selling one of my prints.
I'm pretty sure this guy will become one of the most popular UA-cam filmmaker at some point ♥️
PS: So proud that I found this man so early
Madhav Poudel thank you for the early support 🙏🏻

Love how you keep pushing us to step up, get out of the comfort zone, and do that uncomfortable thing we keep putting off. Keep preaching!
Tyler Hill I want you guys to crush it! So I’ll always keep pushing :)
Next vlog idea - how to reach out or have people reach out to us for commercial work. How people in the industry actually land work 👌

The real MVP here, valuable tips!
Mark, I love the reel tips but would love a dedicated video around the topic, if possible?
