my only issue with mauga is that he’s incredibly easy to kill if ur not running a high sustain comp
his charge is deceiving. Like I only ever use it if im pocketed or need to finish a kill. I played about 20 games with him and hes definitely more of a "poke" tank. You hug corners and should always be shooting with the main cannon. Switch to alt fire when it triggers fire. shoot both cannons at mid to close range. Pop healing when you can land crits.
When you go off with him, you go OFF. Hes snowballs and is a glass cannon. He cannot take hits well. He just melts and is awful against hitscan.
Him with Ashe is rediculously good
Yeah, need to play around the corners more than most tanks, otherwise he just blows up.

It was actually super smart to do an event like this. Now they can make adjustments before people purchase the BP to get him.

My first impression was "yes, but it depends on your tank."
I think with a tank like Sigma, Brig works just fine into him. If your tank is something like an Orisa or Mauga though, she'll have a hard time getting value because of how much pressure he can put on.

It's ten consecutive shots to ignite, but I'm unsure what the sort of reset time is between shots. It seems like every ten after the initial reset the duration of the burn rather than add another total duration.

His cardiac give him the ability to heal by doing damage for himself and his teammates within the circle. Higher the damage, the better the healing

Mauga charge + brig ult gives me similar vibes as Orissa ult + Illari ult when Illari launched, in that a new character pairs well with a mediocre ult (i'm a brig main, brig's ult is not the strongest or the weakest) Orissa's ult was not great but Illari's ult gave Orissa's ult team wiping potential, Mauga + brig is not as strong but the double stun from the charge, the ult's shield bash and Mauga's good damage when close is pretty good in my opinion
A bit of a weird take, but I think in a enemy cage fight situation where you're on rally with your tank, the best bet is probably just to hold shield the entire way so that the enemy mauga doesn't get the ~200 hps self healing and ~50 overhealth/s from shooting your tank (yes, he has that much self sustain with his E active and hitting all BODY-shots).
In the whole 3.4 seconds the shield lasts (if no one but the enemy mauga shoots you with his 219 dps on shields) you basically rob the enemy mauga of quite a couple hundreds of HP, and if you also have a mauga by your side the enemy one just dies in those 3 seconds.

You should try Illari - self sufficient map control with a decent amount of low effort heals, what's not to like?
