Just bought the XL5 version. I ordered some aluminum upgrades (turnbuckles, driveshaft, and motor mount) also HR axles. I already have a brushless Castle esc and motor. I also have a spare TQI controller with bluetooth. I already have a custom painted Audi R8 body. I still saved some money and will end up with a 4-tec that is better than the VXL. I just need to get better tires and wheels.
Which one? I'm thinking of getting the supra 3.0. But that one has the longest wheel base. Will it matter if I switch bodies, just have to drill the wholes in different spot.
The brushless is rhe one that you are thinking of when you say it doesnt come with a body... but you can get one with a body, but you can also get a brushed version with no body so...
While you’re not completely wrong about the 2 pole spinning faster, it’s very pointless since both are 3500kv. You’d be better off with a castle sv3/4 or mamba x with a 5700kv 1406 motor

How’d it turn out? There is a guy on here that hit 151mph, in a VXL, with stock gearing. The 4 pole motor.
Can you send a link to the turn buckles you used? I’d like to purchase those specifically.
Can you please tell me what mounting position is on the motor to the motor plate. Much needed as I forgot and don't want to screw mine up

Does the xl5 have bearings
traxxas has a power up program so you can upgrade the electronics on it for hella cheap just fyi you should look it up before buying new parts
I did just that and love it. Upgrade cost $115 and I've hit 70mph while having the car about 2 weeks.
Whats the gearing difference if there is any?
I live in Lompoc dawg, you have a shop or something
You think a 4 tech 2.0 mustang body will fit a slash 4x4?
Eugene Urbina no the slash is closer to a 1/8 scale although traxxas calls it a one tenth
Is this the brushed version that comes with no body? I’ve seen some with a really long antenna and some without it

One question what's the average play time with 3 cell at full speed ?
I'm not sure.... i have never ran one all the way down.. .hahaha
The both have TQI now right
Yeah
It’s prolly too late for u to notice but show a video of a deep clean on a 4tec please
Vxl is fun as hell

Does xl5 come with tsm?
Ja Lee negative... thats an option i forgot to mention.
@@MarkSantaMaria Only the Ford Gt does come with TSM. The Mustang comes without TSM
So does that mean you meed a newer xl5 esc with newer software?
@@jacobcabe4089 NO. YOU need the TQi Transmitter and receiver
Should of used gorilla double sided tape for esc like I did
2 pol burn up on 3 s 4 pol last for years
Hard tires soft tires? 2pol 4pol whaaaat? Lol. Never heard of it.
