God I hope I'm given this procedure at the ENT next week. Antibiotics cleared my ear infection, but the unrelenting pressure and muffled hearing aren't going away and it's driving me nuts!

Thank you for this video. I had ear tubes (in both ears) as a youngster in the early 90’s. I don’t remember being told about the surgery, but I remember the surgeon (or anesthesiologist) commenting on my pig tails, being told to look down the mask because my mom was on the other side, being transported to recovery via wagon and having the worst headache I have ever had in my life after surgery. (I’m someone who has migraines almost monthly and I’ll take a migraine over that headache any day.
I might need this done my antibiotics ain’t working for me cause I’m sick of the pressure in my ears and head

For the past 6 months I have had muffled hearing in one ear, I was evaluated and it was discovered I had fluid in my ear, it was treated with a steroid and an antibiotic. My hearing came back almost after I was done the meds. I had about a week of perfect hearing. After a week my hearing is muffled again. The Dr did mention tubes might have to be placed in my ears. I am so afraid for my follow-up, in my 38 years I have never had ear trouble, not one ear infection. I honestly don't want tubes, but if it will fix this hearing and fluid I guess so be it. Very nervous. Please send positive vibes my way.
if you havent had the surgery yet, dont worry its not that bad. ive had this done three times, (getting my 4th set soon.) its only about 15 minutes, and you never feel it. the only issue it may lead to is scarring on the eardrum. i hope you the best, or if its already happened, hope you are doing well

@@karupan3129 i think that depends on the situation. for me, my tubes usually stay in for 3-4 years. ive seen people who only need them for months or weeks.
I had these as a kid. Got them removed. And got sent to the CAV.

when I was a baby I had ear tube surgery. when I was about 8, my ears were itching really bad and I had a thumb tack that fell out my ears lol ; I was so shocked! That tack had been in my ears for 8 years

Hi doctor,I had right myringotomy 20 days ago.After 5-6 days post surgery,I started hearing tinnitus (which was there pre surgery too).I am wondering whether it will go away on its own and how long it will take Please reply

I got an ear tube and now I hear no bass sounds bad my overall hearing got significantly lower. Does my hearing come back or does this procedure permanently erase some of your hearing ? Truly disappointed this happened to me.
I did it to relieve pressure from my middle ear. Doctor told me only 2% of patients get low frequency hearing loss so I guess I’m that 2 percent. fuck.!

Hey! I'm not sure if you'll see this, but ear tubes do lower your hearing, but overall they improve it. My dad has actual permanent hearing loss from never getting tubes. I have tubes and I do have a bit of hearing loss, but it's only as long as you have tubes! You can always get the tubes removed and sometimes they fall out, depending on the type of tube.

@@YABOIBISON I also read children who get ear tubes, when they turn 18 they lose like 4-8 decibels of hearing YEESH. and people who didn’t use ear tubes got like a 2-4 db hearing. I should’ve never got it fam. I still have ear fullness and crackling and popping sounds and tinnitus and messed up Eustachian tubes I think. Might do sinus surgery lol. I also made a lot of music last year. My ears always feel somewhat wet too.
Never knew I would deal with this shit and lose this much hearing it’s so sad.

I got ringing in my left ear I fell my ears are full no wax .I think my tunes in my ears maybe blocked I also had really bad ear infection in my left ear was put on anibontic meds for it .but I try popping my ear drums see open up tubes .I got ear oil see if that will help stop rinning make have go see ear doctor again find out what real deal is I lost some of my hearing to really bad ear infection when I was very little I either didn't get meds or meds didn't work .my mom claim it was because of cmv I got as baby thank to her she had it I guess never got meds get rid of it I end up with it nearly killed me cmv not good .there no cure for it I guess.but my 2 other sibling never got it something does not had up
