I've had the privilege to see Yes twice in my life. They are amazing and so professional of musicians. They are deep in my soul, If I'm feeling down all I need to do is to think of one of their songs and I feel it note for note. I think they are our modern day, Mozart , Bach and Beethoven . I hope their music is playing in heaven if I am allowed to go there. Every song is different and played with such skill . Bless all the members of Yes.
When I was about 7 years old, I remember one rainy day at school that forced us all to play in our classrooms after lunch. On such days, the main office would pipe the radio through the primitive PA system. The local radio station that day played "And You and I" in its entirety and I remember thinking 'man that was an incredible piece of music' (even at age 7). Many years later I rediscovered the song as part of my discovery of Yes. There it was clear and brilliant in my memory like a gem.
What a really cool story of that experience you had! My first intro to Yes was when my cousin John asked me to bring his big radio to from home to him at his friends house. It was 1981 and I was 13 and he was 17. I noticed the cassette in the radio and pressed play! OMG, Round About filled the airwaves, my ears never heard such a majestic sound. I still remember that awesome day as I carried that big radio in Rockaway NY to cousin Johnny!!
In 1976, I was 16 years old and Yes was my 1st concert at Madison Square garden and they blew me away..such a great band and I have every album to this day....God Bless Yes...❤☝🎊
I've got to agree with you there. I can't help thinking though that bearing in mind the age of all us original fans, there's a great Halloween performance somewhere down the line just waiting to happen with all of us turning up looking like the living dead
Oh yee of little faith. As old as we ancient fans may be, I prefer to think we will never be " like the living dead". That would be averse to what this song is all about. This is YES.... and that's affirmative enough for me.
I was born in 1949 - and so was in my very early 20s when "Yes" hit the airwaves. I was in a French-Canadian Jazz-Rock fusion band in Canada (CANO) - and we were in rehearsals when our bassist played 'Roundabout' for us. We stopped rehearsal just so we could THINK about what we had just heard.
Il n'y a rien de plus beau cette voix, ce guitariste, ce bassiste, ce batteur, ce clavier, ces compositions certainement le meilleur groupe de rock progressif de tout les temps.
Great live version of the Yes classic. RIP Chris Squire, what an amazing bassist and songwriter. You will be missed! Thank you for all the years of great songs!
Watching Steve Howe move from guitar to guitar --- the GOAT of all time! And Jon's voice --- so many years (for me since 1973) thank you, thank you, thank you.
I cry every time I sit and play my keyboards along with YES in this live recording. Such a beautiful composition, and performed gorgeously. Wakeman's solo is stirring. I can't believe Squire's gone. I felt his presence in my studio earlier while playing the Moog lead following the first chorus. RIP Fish. I love the aura of this recording.
This is my favorite YES song , so beautiful and very smart . Only YES , Jethro Tull and Genesis of Gabriel and Hackett could have done this king of prog rock music and with brilliantly , beauty and smartness.
Pro mne je to jedna z nekrásnějších rockových kompozicí - pro ni především mám YES nesmírně rád!!! This is the one of the best rock song for me! Thank you very much!
This band has made such beautiful music over the years. And this song is just stunning. I'm so glad I got to see them in almost every incarnation. Still can't get used to Chris not being here.
These men are superbly gifted master virtuosos. All in one super group. Bless all members of YES and my favorite bassist of all time. Chris your missed. Thanks for inspiring me to pick up the bass.
Steve Howe always amazes me playing that slide guitar on this song. Not just how he plays, but how he created the part originally, that's musical genius, all the band members on that stage are musical geniuses...
I remember hearing this song for the first time on an AM radio station. That was unheard of back then. I had to call the station to find the name of the song and that was beginning of Progressive Rock for me. Progressive isn't lost. It lives on in our memories and these great recordings.

Wow. Never get bored of this song. Great voice, great guitar, great keyboards. RIP Chris. For god sack put aside your differences and get back together.
No one will ever create music such as this. Your soul will never be touched and lifted so high. This song comes from the end of all time; forwarded thought from the future.
Amazing performance of a timeless, mind-boggling song. It is simply, pure joy. And I don't mean to say that it is a joy to listen to. It is decidedly that. I mean to say that this piece has always felt, for me, to be the sound of joy itself. If we could hear color. If we could smell the feeling of peace. Then this is what the feeling of joy sounds like.
First heard this when I was 9 years old….my brothers album. Instantly fell in love with as well as Roger Deans album cover art! Drew lots of pictures in school inspired by his art. There’s a DJ here in St. Louis that stated if he were stranded on a deserted island and could only have one album to listen to for the rest of time, it would be Yes’ Close to the Edge. My pick too! STILL my all time favorite album…..just incredible, beautiful music!
I love watching how Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman get in the zone when they play. The others are totally there, but there is something extra in the way Steve and Rick approach their part in the whole scheme.
Absolutely amazing. Such a pity there are so few such talented musicians and the average Christina Aguilera fan would never have the intellect to appreciate such brilliant. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
It's just absolutely sublime I've kept my mouth shut far too long When I hear so called music today Be it Garage or Rap or whatever 1. They are NOT Singing Just shouting or voicing words 2. Haven't got a clue what hell they talking about 3. Its NOT even music It's just meaningless noise Thank God for Progressive Rock Long may it continue Phoenix will rise from Ashes
En el año de 1973,en trayecto a el primer día de trabajo en mi vida, escuché por primera vez esta fabulosa canción. Desde ese entonces hasta la fecha, esta canción de Yes, nunca ha perdido su magia.
Thank you God for giving us ears and Yes.

What came from this piece of music was awakened an unbelievable piece of as far as I'm concerned the best song they ever did
@@waynespeirs1024 To me "And You and I" is the song that defines the musical genre known as Progressive Rock" or pick "Close to the Edge"

The best version I’ve heard in the 50 years I’ve been listening to YES
It’s real good, but some of the 70s versions (with and without Wakeman) are better.
This is perfection
Progressive Rock will never grow old - a beautiful track indeed.
Check out Porcupine Tree -- for some late-modern Progressive Rock
Thanks god for growing up in the 70's!!!
Lucky, I was born in 1968. I caught the tail end of the great music of the 70’s into the early 80’s! That era is etched into my soul ‼️

I miss him so much! I miss seeing him on stage and jumping around. This was an absolutely great performance. The band sounds great here.
My favorite song by Yes. One of my top 3 bands. Thank you Yes for your beautiful progressive music.
I'd love to hear the band do this epic piece now in 2024 without Anderson, Squire or Wakeman. No, scratch that. I would Not want to hear them do it.
Watching Steve Howe move from guitar to guitar --- the GOAT of all time! And Jon's voice --- so many years (for me since 1973) thank you, thank you, thank you.
