Harri, you are my hero! I can't believe you took the time to react to PRISM!! Outside of Canada, I don't know if too many people discovered the boys from Vancouver. I swear I played this album (Armageddon) until I wore out the track breaks & had to go out and buy another album. Beautiful song so tenderly sung by Ron Tabak (who sadly passed on Christmas Day 1984 while riding his bike/hit by a car). It's a MUST for you to checkout the song 'Armageddon'. Great history lesson on various 70's events - opening verse describes fans of Elvis waiting outside Graceland. The nat'l guard was there as many didn't believe Elvis was dead; references to Linda Ronstadt dating Gov Jerry Brown; lyrics are just having fun with biblical term from Revelations & prophesies of battles during the end of times (angels have sickles so must be Soviet Union whose flag has a sickle/red phone between Moscow & Washington etc). Aww shit! Just listen (loudly) and enjoy! It's a fantastic song!
Harri, this is the first time I've seen anyone react to Prism. They were quite a prominent band in the late 70s early 80s, especially in Canada. This one is probably their biggest ballad, but they were much more noted for their up tempo rock songs. A few other songs to check out would be Spaceship Superstar, Armageddon, and Coming Home (written by Bryan Adams).
You are the only reactor on YT I have ever seen react to Prism, and I know you have reacted to at least two of their songs now! Saw them live in 1978 as the warm up band for Meatloaf and his Bat Out Of Hell tour! One of the greatest concerts I ever saw! When you ever get the time to get back to this band I would suggest "Armageddon" but I will be here for any of their songs you react to! Cheers from Canada!!
Nice choice, KD and Harri. Been a long time since I heard this song and their other hits but it's interesting that they launched 2 important music careers: Bryan Adams wrote a number of songs for the group's earliest albums and Bruce Fairbairn produced their early albums before going on to produce records for Loverboy, Blue Öyster Cult, Bon Jovi, Poison, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Scorpions, Van Halen, Chicago, The Cranberries, INXS, Kiss and Yes.
Oh gawd...I had a massive crush on a guy at the time and played this song endlessly 😆 I think I was in grade 7 or 8. As soon as I saw this title, my mind went back to him. Wasn't meant to be in the end, but such fun memories. I loved this whole album and played it until it wore out. This song, and Armageddon (have always loved when rock bands team up with orchestras) were my favourites. As I recall, a very young Bryan Adams, while not in the group, had some credits on this album. Thanks for making my day Harri!
Hey, Harri: You seem to be on a real Canadian adventure lately. Prism was a great band with several good hit songs. I suggest that you listen to Young and Restless
Oh, you are bringing me back - my prom theme was "Night to Remember" in honour of this song! I am a big Prism fan - good straight ahead pop band. "Young and Restless" is a great driving pop song by them or "Armageddon" was a more ambitious rock anthem.
Bruce Fairbairn won Producer of the Year, at the 1980 Juno Awards, for this album Armageddon. Great band with great potential but unfortunately their record label went bankrupt the same year of this release. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and KDKitchen. Great choice. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
If you listen closely you can hear a very young Bryan Adams singing background vocals on this one. Always loved Prism and still have all their albums. Very sad and tragic story all around with Ron Tabak.
I am surprised this is a baby boomers band. Canadian bands tend to sweep across all gendre of songs regardless of period especially those that are active right up even today. The songs they sing have a universal appeal - not country, not pop, but indie themes that touch the hearts of many with a tinge of romanticism edged with earthy new age (we are in the thick of the new age) tones and sounds. I think this not purely a romantic song but rather to encourage us to commit to a love relationship - there was actually a ga8y couple getting married in the video, an islander couple.
Prism without Ron Tabak is not prism. My brother got me into prism in the 70's. My wife said oh Prism is playing a concert and i said NO that isnt prism
Listen to the WHOLE album......it's a masterpiece and won awards in Canada.
My favorite Canadian band...Hands down
I havent heard that song in years. It's awesome.
Thank You for playing these old Canadian hits. You stand out Harri.

I can't believe you're doing Prism. I had "See Forever Eyes" and none of my friends had even heard of them. Thanks.

So right. Underrated in America, sadly so. I have the song, "Don't Let Him Know" and I love it.
Thanks for this heartfelt reaction! I agree that this song is a blessing...

I remember this band and album, thanks Harri ! Alot of good tunes from this band to be found.

I second "Young and Restless"

Take me to the Kaptain was their go-to song.
Hari reacted to it a few months ago
This is my favourite song. But it hurts when you lose your partner to cancer. "Our moment together...it's here...then it's gone" So very true.
Spaceship Superstar next please.
Spaceship Superstar should be next.

They were definitely rockers! But this was one of their ballads.
They can rock! Try the song Mirror Man.
When I use to DJ I used this song when bride and groom did not have first dance song
