That baby needs some disc brakes up front ;-) One thing about these buses is the shifter. Sometimes the popping out of gear has nothing to do with the transaxle, but the shifter. I upgraded my shifter in my 1986 Syncro Doka to a billet shifter and my popping out of gear problem completely stopped. The transaxle was freshly rebuilt, and it was popping out of fourth. It was the shifter, and not the transaxle. I can't remember right off the top of my head of the small company I bought the shifter from, but it made a world of difference in the driving experience.

As you guys were taking the test drive, I kept hearing the chorus to the song "Little Honda" by Jan and Dean in my head. 1st gear, it's alright... 2nd gear, I lean right.... Reminds me of the late 80's - early 90's when I drove VW's....

Hey thanks we actually don't know that specific color yellow because it was a repaint actually. The original paint of the bus was Titian red

On Rambus it will pop out of 4th gear on the JFK bridge but not on Harbor. I am use to it ? It has done it for the last 800 ,000 miles. It will keep going for a few more 100 !!!
yeah Matts bus helga popped out of 4th until recently replacing the gearbox.

Hi guys absolutely love the channel. Could you tell me the wheel and tyre size on the 68 bus, having mine lowered next month, so excited, just concerned and overworking the engine and speedo by changing the wheels and tyres. I have the wheels 15x5 offset 20, so some help with tyre size would be really helpful 👍

What motor is in the 68? My wife just bought me a 73 & I'm trying to learn as much as I can. My friend told me the only channel I need to subscribe to is this one.
it was a 1910 but it got sold and is in NJ now. Your friend is a genius!

So my bus has fuel in the oil, and I might have drove it while there was gas in the oil when I didn't know there was. What could I do? I also don't have an electric fuel pump

We love the t2 kombis here in South africa. What's the name of the colour and what's the tyre and rim size. It's a nice kombi.
The color is not a stock VW Color, Wheels are 15" Cosmics by Empi, Front Tires 175/65-15 Rear - 185/65-15

There are some local shops but they will only take on smaller jobs when I try to do business with them they are more sales then mechanic shops. Kar part‘s, Smith automotive, Bugoholics. My guy was the VW wizard and was he ever true to that name. Could fix anything, air cold or not. Any help or guidance is truly appreciated, thanks again
