so, to be honest, f15 pilots are not going to jump to conclusions. they are going to assume there is more than 1, just 1 plane is a death wish for the other guy.
A couple things wrong with this that I just can’t help but point out. 1. F-15s would most likely be using three bags (drop tanks) instead of just one. They would’ve also jettisoning them way before entering combat ranges. 2. The F-15s would lock onto the J-11s way before they’re within visual range in track-while-scan (TWS) mode and would have never merged. This means there will be no RWR radar lock alert for the J-11Bs. If they wanted to scare the J-11s, they could switch to range-while-search (RWS) radar mode to alert the RWRs. 3. If the J-11s wanted to break radar lock, it would’ve been more effective and practical to jump into the notch AKA radar notching by going lower than the F-15s and putting them at their 3 or 9 o’clock. 4. The J-11s and F-15s should be dropping chaff to break a radar lock, not flares. This gets a pass though as flares look way cooler for the silver screen. 5. J-11 pilot wouldn’t be able to pull a cobra like that without feeling a lot of Gs. The cobra would also kill all of his airspeed, and it would take a minute for him to reorient himself. 7. F-35 or F-22 is revealed to be the cameraman.
i agree on the 3 tanks but not on dropping them before or even after as tanks are not cheap and would only be dropped in situations they knew they needed the extra maneuverability. tws does alert enemies but not with a constant lock tone but with a ping radar that does not alert the enemy is aesa radar that can use Low-probability-of-intercept radar which the f-15c does not carry at least i don't think this is the upgraded version the j-11 would know the f-15 were coming way before as i would assume they have ground or air radar in place not to mention the radar on the f-15 giving away their position. as for the intercept its very unrealitsic and the f-15 would not stay so close, also as soon as the j-11 pulled away from his wing man the f-15s would know. radar notching in actual combat is not easy and would not be effective, thus its a last ditch manurver to get rid of a missile lock, also wouldn't work when facing two enemy aircraft since they can scan from two different bearings. chaff does not work against a target moving towards or away, since f-15 uses doppler radar. also the cobra in this movie makes no sense and really isn't one as they arent finishing the manurver by putting nose back to the level position. also yes it would kill all speed and make the j-11 a sweet target. also a bad idea to do for the airframe, his crew chief prob got really mad at him for pulling such a stunt. you have base knowledge but its not complete i hope you learned something.

Reason why flankers are not competent anymore in modern combat is because within visual range (WVR) fights (dog-fights) don't happen nowadays. But the sukois Excel in WVR combat while the f-15 (US equivalent), excels in BVR (Beyond Visual Range) air combat. Russian radars, sensors and fox-3 missiles aren't as capable as Western.
