    IP Masqerena is sick in drytron.That new Meteonis can negate 4 times if you can summon him again,so after negating twice you can use IP and Meteonis to link into Dyna mondo shuffle back a card with first effect and then tribute it to summon Meteonis again and you can negate 2 more monsters.

    14:28 memento player cl 3 memento fusion using both combined creation and dark blade and falco making guardian chimera.
    New chain links cl 1 chimera cl 2 falco in order to chain block ritual eff. Pop both ritual monsters draw a blank, next ss the combined creation and use the trap in grave to reduce the atk of opp monsters by 1k and enter bp. Combined creation plus guardian 8300. Otk plus follow up the fusion in grave to add a bone party or something.

    feel like the memento player focused waaay to much on follow-up g3. couldve summoned winda to keep them out of the game, or searched key mace with angwitch to snatch steal mu beta. maybe they were scared of imperm, but even the line they chose would've lost to it regardless.

    That game 3 really showed memento followup turns are very clumsy and generic monster negates just hose you. This drytron deck doesn’t seem to do anything special. It’s just some negates.

      @@mess6818what could they have done differently? better end board/usage of interruption?

  • @robertbauerle5592
    @robertbauerle5592 3 місяці тому +1

    I’m super disappointed with memento’s design. Had such cool potential to be an interactive deck, but every card needs to be proactively destroyed, you get nothing back if your opponent interacts with you. Also they have no good extenders and aren’t really rewarded for playing a lot of engine at all, you just play a bunch of starters and then single names. The only sort-of exception being the fusion spell.
    At the end of the day It’s just another one card 37-minute turn combo deck that sets up a ton of interruptions and loses to a single interruption itself most of the time. Terrible dynamic.

    • @truekingofallgeneraiders
      @truekingofallgeneraiders 3 місяці тому +10

      Lmao memento doesn't lose to 1 interruption. Horse is full combo and axtender, fusion and bone party are the same.

    • @lulunisha
      @lulunisha 3 місяці тому +3

      It's definitely a thirty-minute combo deck, but it needing proactive destruction rather than getting free plusses when your opponent outs your board is a good thing. Otherwise you get the most frustrating aspect of playing against tearlament.

    • @robertbauerle5592
      @robertbauerle5592 3 місяці тому +1

      @@lulunisha that’s one of the best things about tearlament imo. Why would it be interesting if you just lose the game to a raigeki? Hyper proactive decks are the main problem with modern yugioh, and this archetype took a mechanic, destruction, and just turned it into a different way to just do the same thing as every other deck. Do you think the new fire king cards are frustrating to play against? Do you prefer playing against tenpai where they just fold to air if they draw no hand traps going first? What sort of dynamic do you want out of the game if you think floating effects are frustrating to play against?

    • @d.e.g.e.3061
      @d.e.g.e.3061 3 місяці тому

      @@robertbauerle5592You must understand that this is a 2 player game, there's nothing fun about breaking a board and feeling that the opponent is not losing.

    • @robertbauerle5592
      @robertbauerle5592 3 місяці тому

      @@d.e.g.e.3061 That comes down to how powerful the floating effects are. Tear was obviously ahead of it's time in terms of power level, but the design of floating effects as a negative feedback loop is good for creating a back and forth. Board breakers create a very unhealthy dynamic in two out of three possible scenarios - 1, the board is broken and you immediately win the game due to the swing in advantage or just flat out killing your opponent. 2, breaking the board is negated/stopped and nothing is achieved, so you simply lose the game. 3, the board breaker succeeds, but doesn't completely counteract your opponents board or potential interruptions. Your opponent could have follow up in their hand or GY, or their cards float into follow up - the game continues.
      1 and 2 do not fall in line with a back and forth dynamic, and unfortunately that's what most decks in the modern meta fall into. To be clear, I'm not saying that 3 should happen every single time a board is attempted to be broken, but I do think that 1 & 2 should happen a lot less often, especially on the second turn of the game.
      The fact that it's a two player game goes both ways, not just one way. Having your board entirely broken with no possibility of follow up or chance of winning after the fact is just as bad a feeling as not being able to break the board in the first place - somewhere halfway is where the sweet spot is.
