-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Фільми й анімація
"Watch out you rock & rollers………….one of these days you’re gonna get older". Truer words were never spoken. A&A embrace life while you can because these lyrics come true faster than you could ever believe.
We thought it would last forever.
This is so true. Take heed boys.
I'm pushing 70...
I *grow* old, and I refuse to *get* old.
🕊️✝️♥️🇺🇸🎶
Same here. My mind refuses to grow old, but my body feels every one of those years, lol.
It is so funny how the wheels of life go round & round. I see all those records on the wall behind them, including Hendrix, and can remember seeing him in Toronto in 69, like it was yesterday. Now I am listening to a couple kids, whose parents probably weren’t born yet, reacting with appreciation and love to the music many of us grew up with. It’s a small world.
This is Rick Wakeman on piano, before he joined Yes. Incredible.
Wow never knew that
That’s so cool! Did he play piano on the whole record or only on Changes?
@phantomparadox6735 He definitely played on Life On Mars? He played on early Al Stewart too. One of my very, very favourites is 'The News From Spain.' Incredible piece. Please report back! 🙏
@@phantomparadox6735 Whole album, from what I recall from a documentary I saw. He was offered a place in the band but gratefully declined.
What? That's so cool!
"So I Turn Myself To Face Me". Always loved that line for some reason.☺️
Self reflection.
Reminds me of that verse from Pink Floyd on the song, "Echoes."
Strangers passing in the street
by chance two separate glances meet
And I am you and what I see is me.
The unpredictable, untouchable David Bowie. LOVE this classic! Great comments guys. RIP David, we miss you❤
Bowie didn't die though, he just returned to his home planet.
Word ❤
Still hurts like yesterday
@@fredkelly4365 Of course it does. I miss all those who made my life better with the gift of music.
@@DawnSuttonfabfour Ha, agree Dawn!!
From the Breakfast Club... And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world ... are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they are going through. - Bowie. Apt. Impactful. Spot on. 😋
I was 18 years old in 1985, standing up (stupidly) in a sunroof singing this with everyone else in the car the night before high school graduation. I cannot hear the song ever without that memory.
That was a PERFECT reaction to this in 1985 (or any year)! Super cool!!
I'm an '85 graduate too, and the music then was so diverse and sooo good
A timeless classic. S Tier for sure.
The lyrics hit harder today than ever before. "Don't tell us to grow up and out of it....Where's the shame? You've left us up to our necks in it."
And yet we do all eventually grow out of it 😂😂
As a 53 year old man, I can't listen to the warning to "look out you rock and rollers" without a lump forming in my throat. I've loved that song and lived that song (even used it in a college presentation once and often as a writing teacher). Rock and roll songs like Changes foretell and intimate the days of our lives. I know, it's only rock and roll, but... 😉✌️
Have you heard Pink Floyd's "Time" ?
But I like it like it yes I do
"And these children that you spit on... "
This is on the screen at the beginning of The Breakfast Club, and I use that lyric to remind myself not to become a cranky old man. I see people who were hippies shitting all over current music and media and it's so hypocritical. Like, it's ok to not like it, but when I hear "they didn't have our music" I immediately think "that's a cranky old man."
Exacting! Seeing people of the Hippie era bitching at the young just is astounding . I guess every generation rails against the dying of the light but the hypocrisy of trying to stop the young from directing their own music lives. ☮️
@@AP-gb3ehI don't think its necessarily hypocrisy. Plenty of people change as they get older and form new perspectives sometimes. Also, the opinions of every new generation aren't exact equivalents to previous generations. So I think it really depends on what opinions and views are being spit on. Being outraged by long hair isn't exactly the same as being outraged by seeing 6 year olds getting lap dances from 45 year old men dressed like strippers...
To be fair, I think pop music in particular used to be a whole lot better, but there's good stuff being made now.
Amen brother.
Yeah that happens all the time😂
It's amazing how relevant this song still is... after all this time.
Thats the point with Bowie.
Bowie is one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
My favorite dude since 1973. RIP David Robert Jones aka Bowie aka Ziggy Stardust aka Jareth King of the Goblins. Much love.
Yeah 2016 was a bad year, form Lemmie to Bowie to Prince, but I kinda wish i hadn't been subjected to these last 8 years either... Been aging in like dog years.
That saxophone at the end was played by Bowie, as was the guitar solo on SPACE ODDITY.
Gentlemen, two trivia points on this classic Bowie song. First, that was Bowie playing the saxophone on this. Second, a whole new generation was introduced to this song by the use of the quote of the line from this song ("And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world...") in the 1984 John Hughes movie The Breakfast Club.
And then 20 years later, in 2004, it was introduced to another new generation when Shrek 2 came out
This is my favorite Bowie song. I can remember where I was when I heard it for the first time!!
The albums Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, and Aladdin Same came out in less than 3 years. All epic albums.
Alladin Sane is such a beautiful song.❤
Jean Genie with Mick Ronson deserves a listen to!
Jeff beck on guitar
Billy Porter by Mick Ronson deserves a listen to
Class of 75, our class song, and an anthem for my friends. Felt like it was telling the world, yes we want to do things differently. Let us try. Cuz we are going to anyway. 😁❤️
This is my favorite Bowie song. Beautiful chord changes, excellent lyrics
Bowie had a master of English so that words flow through other words, Deep and Combative
This whole album is a masterpiece!!!
In my opinion, one of the best musicians and singers of all time. So diverse in his songs. Kept his music up-to-date and relevant 🥰
A&A, you'll love his "Modern Love"!!! SRV on guitar!
So many faces of Bowie. Changes, you might say.
Wow.... I wanted to hear a reaction to this song but not just from anyone.. you guys are young but dope with great knowledge of music. And here it is. From a 61 yr old rocker....
1972 graduated high school in 1974 saw an ad in Detroit free press Bowie tickets $15.00 got 10, me and my friends were in the 3rd row of a fancy theater in downtown Detroit, Bowie came out over top of the audience on a crane above our heads, hands down best concert I've ever seen!😊 Gary
There is no such thing as a bad Bowie song.
'Kooks' is one of my favourites, a love song to his son. It has some glorious lines.
David Bowie is my absolute hero but he's made the odd dud track. Shake it on let's dance is pretty crap and his cover of God only knows on the Tonight album is possibly the worst song he's ever done. The guy was a genius but surely you can't like every song he's put out? If so fair enough. Everyone is different and entitled to there opinion.
Have you heard his ‘ laughing gnome 😂😂
Bowie was a Rock n Roll Chameleon
Iconic
Intelligent
Energetic
Historically regarded as David’s best album. But, you could say that about every album David released from 69-80. Nice breakdown lads ⚡️
my favorite favorite line in the song
"and these children that you spit on as they try to change their world
are immune to your consultation
they're quite aware of what they're going through"
This is what I was listening to as a young teen. I feel sorry for young people today
Absolutely Agree 💯
Reminds of high school where this song was heard all over the school!
We enjoyed it but the kids today enjoy their own music, and sure don’t need our sympathy. It may not be what we like, but they might not like ours either.
@@HamiltonRb Also kids today can still listen to this stuff if they want to, it hasn't gone anywhere - if anything it's much more accessible than it was when it first released
A&A are literally doing it right now
Such a strange sentiment to me
Why? The music is still here to listen to, and tons of amazing music has been released since then. I listened to this as a young teen too--30 years after it came out, alongside the contemporary music of the time that I loved too. Music is timeless.
Also I feel sorry for anyone who thinks amazing music isn't still being released just because you gave up looking a long time ago.
If you are ever in a mood to do a trilogy of Bowie songs that are all connected by a common theme... or character. Look into these three in this order...
Space Oddity telling the story of Major Tom and represents Bowies first commercial success.
Then Ashes to Ashes in which we find out some unsettling truths about Major Tom which Bowie recorded nearly a decade after Space Oddity.
And finally one of the very last recordings Bowie made before he died, Blackstar in which we learn the fate of Major Tom. You need to watch the official video however because Major Tom is only shown visually and not mentioned in the lyrics.
Excellent points of ALL 3..thus the Trilogy..he was Amazing!!
It's about time! This was the song that started his fantastic 50 plus year career. He was an unknown, until "Changes." This is one of my favorite songs , of any artist. It's got everything. Music, the lyrics, and a message.
Bowie was far from "unknown" when this song was first released, it's just that this album did poorly. Space Oddity was 3 years before this and even then Hunky Dory only gained recognition after "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars" was so successful the following year. Maybe you're thinking of 1975 when Space Oddity and Changes were re-released as the A and B sides respectively of Bowie's first #1 hit?
Check out Bowie's "Fame" co-written with John Lennon.
David Bowie was a changeling. His music, his look, his persona changed with each album. This was his anthem explaining him.
Great review Guyz 👍.
‘Jean Genie’ is a must, especially the previously lost live recording of him performing on Top of the Pops. A must watch 🙏.
To me he was the UK's Bob Dylan. R.I.P. To the great Mr Bowie. I was so lucky to have grown up listening to Bowie, Elton John and Rod Stewart.
Thank you, Mick Ronson, for your arranging skills - you were far more than a brilliant guitarist. Those early Bowie albums owe so much to you.
I saw him in concert in 74
Awesome
That's so cool 😁
me too in '84
Such an absolutely amazing and culturally important song.
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through
The Bowie version of "ok, boomer"
Only the boomers were the "children." Every generation thinks they are going to change the world and that old people don't know anything. It's an inversion of the ancient world when the elderly were revered for their knowledge. @@disconsolatemoose6637
China Girl is a banger,
Bowie ages like a fine wine…
True about not liking change. Every change in my life has been negative or filled with grief. I do love this song
HD is one the greatest albums ever made.
No question about it. As great as this song is, most of the record is somehow better.
I'm a massive Bowie fan, and I would say that this is my all time favorite song by him. The lyrics...my goodness they lyrics...just SO thoughtful and thought provoking. S Tier all the way.
Always loved this. Hunky Dory was released when I was a freshman in HS. Changes wasn't a hit until a few years later when Ziggy Stardust became popular and the single was re-released. But it fits in really well with the more mature material he was releasing later in his career...
I won this album at a High School Fair in 1973 and was a Bowie fan for life. "Bewley Brothers" from this album is one of the "sleepers" that will surprise you! Bowie on sax!
The very first Bowie track I ever heard. I was a little kid. I used to sing ccchanges ! Pissed off my mother 🤣🤣
This is a Top 10 song of the rock era for me. Absolutely perfect.
At least you didn’t say ‘this is the song from Shrek’ ☠️😅
*Shrek 2
There are worse movies to be associated with.
A Bowie Classic! ❤️
Under pressure with Queen is ace too
Sure is! My preference.
The ultimate rock star. Bowie was the GOAT.
I love watching these guys discover the music that moved me when I was their age. These are the best songs of that era, and while they stand the test of time, they should be viewed in the context of when they were written. Bowie’s “Changes” spoke to what we’d experienced through the rapid social and political upheaval of the 60s and helped to mellow my heart during that heartbreaking time.
I love Bowie. I have Loved Bowie since the early 70s.
He Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby and it is fantastic!
This is one of my favorites!
Rock On!
🕊️✝️♥️🇺🇸🎶
S-tier lyrics, s-tier chord progressions, s-tier vocal harmonies, s-tier song!
Im a long time bowie fan but recently in the last fast few years i "discovered" a couple tunes i didn't know...stay and width of a circle. Im 57 and still exploring new old music.
David Bowie was and still is one of my favorite artists. All his different styles were amazing. Check him out with Bing Crosby singing Little Drummer Boy.
Bowie will always be in my top list of favorites⚡️❤️ so many amazing songs, lyrics and STYLE!
Hunky Dory is a perfect album.
I saw Bowie at a gig in Melbourne Australia...so cool
Love this song 🎵 Just Perfect, from the legendary artist Bowie...
One of two songs I'd want played at my memorial service, should there be one.
I was thinking "Dream On" but this one fits for sure.
What's the other song?
@@theshadowfax239 One toke over the line by Brewer & Shipley. The 60’s & 70’s, gotta love it 😂
@@theshadowfax239 My sister says she's having Chumbawumba's Tubthumping.
"I get knocked down, but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down."
Just when I thought I had their video release schedule figured out....
I never get tired of any of Bowie's music. This was one that I used to blast at home while cleaning. My teenage daughter, who hated everything, loved this song.
His loss was one of the greatest in modern times. He was a true artist and entertainer without any pretentiousness.
Andy lost in the sauce for sure! Love that. Cheers Fellas!
Listen to “Quicksand”
Or “The Bewlay Brothers”!
I love Bowie and I love this song. He was a top tier, class act all the way. Forever reinventing himself, you never knew what the new album was going to bring but you did know it would be a masterpiece. Bowie does play the sax though I don't think he does on his albums but so many of his great songs will have that sax creep in at just the right moment and that is my aha moment when I remember oh yeah, he is a sax player.
Just got goosebumps even though I’m old enough to remember when it was first released and I’ve heard it thousands of times
I definitely see how you could hear the Bob Dylan-thing in Bowie's vocals--however, his early vocal model was a guy named Anthony Newley, a British Broadway-guy with a unique dramatic vocal style. In Bowie's earlier albums (like this one) he sounds very much like him.
All the Young Dudes
Hey A & A.....it's been fun watching your rock n roll education unfold. As I said when Bowie died.....he was always pushing the envelope....I didn't always appreciate what he was doing at the time...but I always respected him for going to places that made me joyful, uncomfortable , awed and inspired! We lost a musical genius!
Hunky Dory is my all time fave album
Proof that when A&A are dialed in, like here, they're the coolest time travelers and bringing the best of the rock era to their contemporaries (and people who witnessed it).
Bowie has many great albums to his name but imo,THIS piece of art is his best.
I always come back to it.
When you reach the raucous Queen Bitch, try to do the Old Grey Whistle Test version.
OGWT is a legendary UK music programme, huge in the 70’s and are in possession of some of the very best live performances from massive bands and artists.
As a teenager,I got into many a band in those magical days because of seeing them on Whistle Test.
Ahhhh. One of my all time favorites. Maybe in the top 10 or 20. I have heard this song a thousand times. Maybe more. I was 20 when I first heard it. I love the bass/ progression in the chorus. I love the intro and outro. I love the unexpected changes . I love the message.
My favorite Bowie album from that era was pinups which was all cover songs from the 60's
Bowie had such a wide range of music throughout his life. More than anyone IMO
can't believe you guys haven't done this one. "Suffragette City" should be next.
They did that one
Cat people (putting out fire)
12" version is incredible
Definitely. The version of that on the movie soundtrack is incredible.
This song is quoted at the beginning of the movie "The Breakfast Club."
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through
- David Bowie
Yes!! Fucking great choice for reaction lads. Peace and respect from Lancashire, England.
I love the look on their faces at 2:35 when they realize the sauce just poured over their brains!
You guys, I'll tell you, I'll tell what, I've grown to love this channel. You are the real deal. I truly apologize for the negative stuff I've said in comment in the past, if you even remember it, It'll never happen again from me. You guys rule the reaction channels...!
omg. what a great comment. I love this so much. nobody ever takes responsibility for their actions or apologizes freely these days. omg. this is marvelous. thank you for classing up the joint that is UA-cam comments. thanks for posting.
My favorite Bowie song is "Heroes", but this is my second favorite.
I'm sure it is highly relatable to many people, like me, who have been through a bunch of stuff that falls into the category of "only happens to other people, not me".
The world doesn't stop and wait while you get your 💩 in order. It keeps going, regardless.
So true, Alex! "If Bowie had stuck himself in the same box everyone else was sticking themselves in, we wouldn't have had any of this." (There's a video out there where Bowie says exactly that!)
Play Station to Station. Bowie’s best song from his best album.
"TVC15" rocks!
I’ve seen Bowie from Ziggy on, every tour in NYC plus the Glass Spiders tour in NJ. Plus on Broadway in the Elephant Man. Saw him at the opening of an after hours club (Continental in midtown); and at a few other clubs in NY. He lived a few blocks from where I worked in SoHo and I knew he frequented a specialty food store, Dean and DeLuca, which I went to daily (to and from subway to work/work to subway) but never was lucky to see him though I saw so many other notable folks.
A college buddy would see him occasionally in Woodstock after he bought a house nearby that town.
I get sad every time I think of him. He’s given me so much joy. I miss him.
This dude ruled the world in the early ‘70s
My favorite Bowie album!
Rick Wakeman on piano for this album. He went on to join Yes right after.
Even in the 90’s it was Bowie who in my youth made me feel it was ok to be weird and misunderstood and he still makes me feel that way.
It's in my top 10 Bowie songs. FM radio played this a lot in the 70s.
As soon i saw "David Bowie", i liked 😊
Saw Bowie live, front row!
Which tour?
Genius is a word that's banded around far too easily but in Bowie's case....he truly was a Genius.
Guy on the left has such a beautiful authentic reaction to this song, nice to see that happen every now and again.
My favourite Bowie tune! Thanks guys!!!🤟
This has always been one of my all time favorites. Loved the reaction!
Bowie on Sax too!
David Bowie has transcended music and entered the zeitgeist of British Pop Culturehe's woven into the fabric of our society like the Royal family,The Premier League,Fish and Chips,Bad Weather lol.....The Beatles,The Stones,Elton and David are the original big 4 that changed the face of music forever in Britain,we are raised on these artists and they will never not be popular
