Well I'm off exploring the Victorian high country.
This time I head to the Barkly river for a night to hit the Macalister river track for some red hot 4x4 off road action.
I head towards a great camp on the Macalister river and then decide to make a 2 part video and meet some great people from Tasmania and some ARB travellers.

Did this up to cascades on the weekend. Amazing how much the crossings and cascades have changed in less than a year after some flood events. Crossings higher, exits far worse and cascades rock beach is boulders rather than a wide area to camp and drive on. I am sure it will be different next time too. Love your work.

Camped ther a few weeks ago. A great spot, unfortunately we had heavy rain 5 days out of 6. But overall an enjoyable stay.
Defiantly a great spot mate, Bit harsh having all that rain. Still glad you had a good time away.

Nice one mate, country looks pretty dry out that way and rivers pretty low. Dont ya hate it when people have the whole bush but decide to camp on top of ya, geez that shits me.
By the way whatever camera your using is bloody fantastic, mate, crystal clear!
Starting to finally dry out now mate, Rivers are right down now that's for sure. Yeah they had the whole top section if they wanted it. End of the day it was Ok and they were a great bunch of people.

Oh that's great mate. Tell you what Ill do Fraser one day haha. If you do come down to the VHC do the research on track closures

I reckon Fraser Island is overrated. I been there twice and second time I was bored. It’s just one type of terrain.
Been to VHC dozens of times and I can never get bored of that place.

How good is that area mate. I camped there late last year and caught a heap of trout and made a little vid on it as well.

That's a cracking spot... Can i ask, you don't trust boiling the billy with water from the river ? It looks like it was flowing nicely & plenty of plant life around to filter it...

How come you didn't get water out of the river for your cuppa travelled that country extensively since the 70s

l have heard that when you come to cross river you should stop and wait a few minutes for the transmission to cool otherwise just driving straight in could crack your gearbox, have you heard of that? Dont believe it myself, take more than a few minutes for the gearbox to cool
G'day mate, it's more like stop and rest up to cool rotors to cool otherwise they will crack or warp. I've never heard the other 👍
There's only so many times you can watch someone set up a swag or start a fire......
