Violette de Solliès Fig - August 22, 2020 Update

Violette de Solliès is one of our favorite figs with nice berry flavor and moderate sweetness. This has been my favorite variety (along with Bourjassotte Noire and Noire de Barbentane) for making jam. Two other growers have reported that this variety splits badly for them but I have not had this problem and have not heard it from others who grow it. I have 8 more trees of this variety in pots that I plan to plant in case I decide to someday make jam commercially.
