Noir de Barbentane FIg

Noir de Barbentane may be a synonym for Violette de Solliès and Bourjassotte Noire. Pierre Baud describes all three in his book on the same page and indicates it is they are very similar but that Noir de Barbentane is grown in another area and is earlier but the timing of the tree seem about the same on our farm. They have an oblate shape and have a dark pulp with an intense berry flavor and moderate sweetness.

Definitely not synonymous. The fruits seen in the video are two or even three times smaller than the fruits of VdS. i.postimg.cc/GhX9qX0F/VdS-222.jpg

My trees of both are of good age and fruits are of same size on both varieties.

@@Figaholics In my opinion, this means that one of the trees does not correspond to the variety. The fruits of the Violette de Solliès variety weigh 60-70 grams. This is a late variety and ripens after the first of September, even in very warm areas.
